The Bridge Hotel and Spa

Good location for travel. Staff very helpful and friendly. Plenty of space to park and a safe bridleway just outside the property on which to walk the dog.

It is a popular place for celebrations so can be very busy especially in the bar area where dogs are allowed. The staff tried very hard to accommodate us to have an evening meal there, but we ended up putting the dog back into the car to allow us to go to the restaurant instead. This only worked as it was the evening and so the car was cool for the dog. One of the beds was very comfortable however the other twin had a very obvious spring problem which was extremely uncomfortable.

Location very handy for getting to places like the Yorkshire Show, Wetherby and Harrogate. Breakfast was fantastic. Design of the place was wonderful! Staff very helpful and friendly.

Room 22 (Twin room) both Husband and I didn't sleep well due to the pillows being too firm. Only other thing was that we sat at the same table for our meals and it was clear that the floor of the restaurant hadn't been hoovered from the night before. Our little 20 month old had eaten some crisps and got a few bits/crumbs on the floor which were still there the following morning at breakfast.

The hotel is very is well located for travelling on the A1 either north or south as it is very close. Breakfast was very good and a really good selection available, both hot and cold on the buffet.

It is a pet friendly hotel; however, they do not provide anything in the room for the dogs which I feel they could since they do charge for the dogs. As a mobility scooter user, it would be good if the doors were more user friendly as I either had to have someone help me with the door or get off my scooter to open the doors as they were quite heavy and sometimes opened against the direction I was travelling.

The hotel was clean and the staff were amazing , very friendly and helpful. The food was good and reasonably priced. The room was a good size and well fitted out. The mattress was too soft for us, although we appreciate this is personal preference.

We didn't like the location as we hadn't realised it was so close to the M1. There was nothing else around so you had to get in your car if you left the hotel. We wanted to go walking but the only footpath followed the road and the M1. If you want a base to visit Harrogate or York this hotel would be conveniently situated.

Wasn’t able to open windows very wide . Which is understandable as old window but windows very much go with structure of building looked stunning . Mane air conditioning would be better for room . Everything else was fine with room . Taxi company recommended wasn’t good . Charged £20 going into weatherby gave £2 tip. Coming back same company £12 . Very disappointed

Comfortable good size rooms very good breakfast available and evening meal was good but if other events were going on at the hotel this was sometimes a bit limited in choice but still very good in quality.

We had two rooms and in one of them there was an issue with the hot water in fact a lack of hot water and also the same room had an issue with the key card losing its memory which meant going to reception to have it re done which luckily was only a short distance away. Although it was a spa hotel a little difficult to get treatments but probably our fault for not booking them in advance

We were checked in by friendly staff and the room was clean and comfortable overlooking the bandstand. We were on site for a function we were attending that evening and it made our evening seamless.

I wasn't able to book into the spa for the afternoon of our stay, even though I tried about 3 weeks before, The staff told me it was fully booked. There was no night porter to serve drinks after the function had finished and the rooms were not too soundproof as we could hear noise from a couple of rooms away ( not from our party).

Everything and the dining experience was quite sophisticated, I should say, forget it's a carvery menu, the service is really elevated. Spa also great. Facilities are a little old and tarnished by age but actually ads a nice patina, very clean and fully functional. Above all the staff is amazing, forthcoming and very welcoming.

Nothing in particular really. Stayed in room 22. Could do with a small desk lamp as lighting was focused above the bed. The foot massage spa was not doing much.

The route to the hotel was well signposted at every junction, and very convenient to the A1.The Club room was lovely and the complimentary Port was a bonus. The feather quilt was an added luxury. We had dinner in the Courtyard Restaurant, a two course carvery. We didn't need to book in advance, which made for a more relaxing experience. Breakfast was also very nice with plenty of choice. The outside space was well kept and inviting. Would certainly stay again.

The shower was above the bath, with a choice of shower heads which was nice, but there were no grab rails to help when getting in and out. Not a problem for us but may have been for anyone less agile.

The food was excellent and the dining room ambiance was lovely.

We had been warned that the hotel wasn't particularly suitable for people in wheelchairs - we did have the only adated room - but the double doors in corridors were difficult - maybe they could provide wedges for people pushing wheelchairs to peg doors open temporarily? Staff did come rushing to our aid if they saw us but there wasn't always someone around. Also the temporary ramp provided for the steps down to the dining room was very steep - luckily my husband managed to get up and down - after the fyurst ramp experience - by clinging to the baanister.
