The Inn at 1252 Monterey

Very easy to get to and a short drive to downtown Monterey, which is a delightful place to stroll for breakfast or a drink. The staff were friendly. The room was adequate and enough space for a pack-n-play for our infant to sleep.

It has gotten progressively more expensive to stay anywhere in Monterey, but relative to the facilities (essentially a motor inn/motel) value wise it was rather expensive.

We absolutely loved our stay in Monterey! The location was perfect for us to pick food and snacks for our kiddos during our stay. We were close to everything we wanted to experience. The staff were friendly, the rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. We had plenty of space to accommodate a family of 5 between 2 rooms. Our kids enjoyed the outside pool and we took advantage of the awesome coffee/hot chocolate bar in the front lobby. Checking in and out was a breeze with text reminders.

The room I stayed in could use a new shower head, the water flow is not ideal for a comfortable shower.

Property has good curb appeal very clean and check in staff was very friendly. The room itself we had the two full size beds and the room was plenty big the bathroom was very large. Rooms were clean and had a coffee maker, fridge and microwave along with a table and chair. Loved that it was vinyl flooring and not carpet in the room. Pool was open. Overall would definitely stay here again.

Room could have been swept a bit better and body wash seemed like it had not been changed very miniscule items

The property was in a good location, but parking was a little difficult for as many rooms didn’t seem like enough parking. The bed was very comfortable, nice water pressure in the shower and very clean with friendly staff and a great location. Furniture was a bit bulky, no cups in the room(so minor) but would have been nice. Kid friendly and quiet. A little in the pricey side but the comfort of the bed made it worth it honestly. Overall a great stay in Monterey, close to everything.

Not enough parking

Stayed for 2 nights on our way through on the PCH. Room was what we needed. A base to explore Monterey, Carmel and the Big Sur. We arrived earlier than 4pm to check in, room wasn't ready so we headed to a great shopping centre up the road where we got lunch. We walked into town for dinners (20 mins) and returned by Uber. We had a lower room, which was lovely as could sit outside on the walkway which overlooked a wooded area. Tea/coffee, breakfast bars and fruit available free to guests.

As usual, we had a lovely stay. Room is small, but there is everything you would need. And even in mid November, there were some flowers outside the door. Spotlessly clean. And although no breakfast is mentioned, there are some small munchies beside the coffee in the morning.

California, and certainly Monterey, are suffering from a severe drought . Hotels and motels throughout the state have begun to change linens every 2/3 days when you stay for multiple nights. The “1252” would be so much more comfortable if they added one more towel bar in the bathroom so bath towels could more throughly dry for your next day.

Room was clean and comfy. Kids loved the heated pool! Good proximity to restaurants, grocery store and shopping.

Love that the room and bathroom were spacious. The fridge was very cold, and there were plenty of towels waiting for us in the bathroom. The friendly workers let us check in a little earlier, which was very convenient since we were very tired from the drive.

We were put in a room where we had to walk down some outside stairs. I was a little worried since I had kids. However, it had a nice view in the back, and the kids didn't disturb anyone with the noises.

The room was clean and seems to have been remodeled somewhat recently. No struggle to find parking. Staff was nice and helpful.

Mattress/bed could be better. The frosted glass door to the bathroom lets all the light come in in the morning. It looks nice but a solid door would be better. Alternatively, a black-out curtain could be fitted to the bathroom window. The gap under the front door is also quite large, use of a weather strip would improve that.

I enjoyed the privacy of the room. I also like how organized everything was, such as the layout and all that.

The door for the bathroom didn't close like a normal door, it didn't even lock. It was a sliding glass door. This would've been a nice disclaimer. Another nice disclaimer would've been the breakfast hours. We were not told what time breakfast was at, at check-in. When we asked, what breakfast was at, at 11 ish. We were told it was from 7-10am, and that we were too late. With an attitude, by the way. If we would have been told this at check-in, we would've woken up earlier... and been on time.
