Monterey Surf Inn

Great shower pressure, 4 mins from Dennis the menace playground and El estero baseball park! 7 mins from the beach. They've been renovating so it looks super nice, just needs a pool now! Get in there before the prices go up!

Just wish there was a pool and a hot tub. And the rooms werent super spacious but still very nice. Also there were no movie channels 😔 also the owner called to tell me my neighbor called about my TV being too loud at 7pm....which was just a little dumb to me but of course to not be a jerk I did but come on dude??? TV too loud at 7 it was on 45 🤦🏽‍♀️

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable; appears some improvements had been made. Maid serve was done if you requested it, so that was a savings item

the area to shave, bush your teeth etc. was very small. For a single person it was ok. But if you had two people and one had to leave early, the area was right next to a bed and was small to boot and the light was bright....like it should;d, but would definitely interfere with the other person's sleep.

The bed was very comfortable, the room was very clean T.V. worked. The maid service was excellent. The air conditioner and ice maker were working.

They didn't have coffee makers in the room like other motels. But they do have coffee in the office. They got two Keurig machines and plenty of coffee for everyone. Also the parking is a little tight, and construction was taking place, and made it even tighter. What did you like

Location was fabulous. The room was basic but clean. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and I am really really picky about my bed. TV had a lot of channels, water pressure in the shower was amazing. The motel has a very cute feel. Would I stay there again, absolutely!

You got two small bath towels and that is it. I went to the front desk to ask for a face cloth and a hand towel and was questioned whether or not I have towels in my room. I said yes, two small bath towels. Well, then you have towels, we don't have face clothes or hand towels. Ok then. No conditioner in the bathroom, just shampoo. The faucets in the sink had so much pressure that when you turned them on water went everywhere. Pool that was advertised was drained, so no pool time.

the staff was accommodating during our stay. everyone was working hard all the time. bed was comfortable, and the fridge was cold. great location to downtown activities and sights with easy access. love the style of the building, kept it mostly the same from the original all those years ago.

very limited towel supply, esp for two guests. tub backed up during shower. LVP floors look great, but needed some rugs to cut down on dirt inside the room during rainy times. internet was v e r y slow! couldn't keep up on zoom call read for work. didn't have bedside lamps or charging ports

With the exception of no breakfast option, the room itself definitely exceeded my expectations! It had a memory foam like mattress very comfortable, huge tv I’d say shy of 50in with all channels minus premium. Mini fridge and microwave. Room was a bit smaller but was very nice. It is under renovations but so are most hotels in the area. Pool wasn’t open, but too cold for that anyways and short walk to the beach! Mall right around the corner with great food choices and shopping leisures. I do recommend hotel for those who need a night or two away and just want to enjoy Monterey!

The place is better than a regular motel. The staff was very cordial and helped me check-in even though I was checking-in around 8pm. The room was small but worth the price. Attached bathroom, tv, etc. all essentials were there.

I could hear the pipe noises from other rooms while they were using the sink or the shower in their rooms. Minor thing: the sheets could be cleaner.

The bed was extremely comfortable. I was impressed.

The floors were clean from dirt and sand but my toddlers feet were black from walking around. They need a good scrub or steam cleaning.

Excellent value; nobody above only lower rooms; remodeling the room and the outdoors; the staffs and the front desk are very accommodating. Cleanliness, price, friendliness and upgraded rooms are very important so close by the Del Monte plaza. Thank you Monterey Surf Inn for the last minute reservation!!!

They’re nothing not liking the property they still remodeling and upgrading all the rooms and outside.

UPGRADE the room, bathroom and the key, wooden floor, t.v. screen is huge. The staff are friendly and excellent value. It's across from the Del Monte Shopping Mall with the theater and the Asilomar State Beach. Good value and upgrade and the bed is comfortable!!!!

It's a working progress for an upgrade so be patient!
