Pelican Inn

The staff was friendly, helpful, and professional - made me feel welcomed and comfortable. They were considerate of all my needs and special requests - early check-in even though I was not going to be in my room until later that night due to the fact that the event I was in town for (Cali Roots festival), did not allow attendees to leave the fairgrounds and be allowed back in. Additionally I was provided with the local Taxi Cab phone number and was assisted in hailing a cab to the event. And, later when I returned, I was asked if I had dropped my change purse at the front desk. After identifying it as mine, it was returned to me with contents fully intact.

I had absolutely no complaints! The staff person I had my interactions with was most professional, consistently helpful, and it was good knowing, or at least feeling, she had my best interests in mind throughout my stay.

The best part of the stay was the .manager I give him an A+ 5 star rating Super friendly and well dedicated in doing a great professional job as the manager

Only complaint was one night in which a group of guests were noisy and inconsiderate to hotel rules I told the manager the next day He was not pleased to hear about that He encouraged me to call him when events like that are taking place Great to know that he is proactive I'm a police officer so I really appreciated the manager's stance on dealing with unpleasant circumstances

Manager was extremely nice, helpful and more importantly available. Booked an adjoining room, but that wasnt available at check in. Manager ended up switching some things around so we could at least have the rooms on the same floor.

Booked for family of 4 with 2 kids, wanted an adjoining room but found out when we checked in it was not possible due to this 3rd party site. Thin walls, you can hear peoples tv and conversations in other rooms.

It was in an area that felt safe and pretty. The room was pretty enough but I really liked the outdoor spaces. They have flower boxes in front of the rooms and they really brighten everything up. There is a mall in walking distance, about 5 minutes away, that is really convenient! Food, a rite aid, shopping and a farmers market on certain days. There was also an extremely nice person from housekeeping that helped us find stuff

There is this weird energy about the place. Like they don’t trust their guests. A $250 fee is charged at check in and returned after they’ve assessed everything I guess. The bathroom has dispensers by the sink and in the shower for soap and shampoo. All of this seems to be cost saving measures but it just gave me a very negative impression.

We stayed here before and the owner went above and beyond to accomodate me and my family's needs, which is why we came back. The owner and his wife are extremely respectful and very friendly! Excellent communication and always picked up when we called. Everything we wanted to do or see was no more than 10 mind away. Great location.

The husband and wife mgrs were wonderful!

When I entered dog friendly hotels the Pelican came up. However, when we arrived we were told this motel has never been pet friendly. Because there were no available pet friendly hotels on the holiday weekend the managers accomodated us after we explained the online problem with the hotel coming up as pet friendly. That is the error on the part whoever listed the property in the search engines.

The staff was very helpful and kind. And the inn was located within walking distance of Quite a lot of places it was nice. The room was nice and clean.loved the shower.

The cards to the room stoped working about 4 to 5 times it was a little inconvenient. Also the floor between our room and the room above had little sound barrier. We could hear people having normal Conversations and every footstep as well as when they were doing "adult time". People moving around up there woke us up multiple times in the morning when we were staying there.

Easy to find location with access to main routes. Nice looking place with good parking and outside seating area. Quiet nice room with a comfy bed, included fridge, microwave and table. Although next to a relatively main road, traffic noise didn't bother us. Friendly helpful staff.

No kettle

I stay here often when I go to Monterey. The location for my stays is perfect: it's walkable to downtown in 15-20 minutes, a shopping center with grocery stores and all that is a 5-10 walk, and there's a greenspace across the street. It's also a few blocks from Highway 1.

Not much really. I'm happy staying here.

Fireplace, microwave and refrigerator. Environmentally friendly by using soap dispensers.

Needs some maintenance on minor details like shredded carpet and stains. Bed skirt should be ironed. Better cleaning inspection because there was a face mask on the side of one of the night stands. Should have matches or a lighter for the fireplace.
