Opal Sands

The room was absolutely beautiful. Bed was comfortable, coffee machine and product exceeded traditional hotel coffee expectations. Had 2 robes that felt amazing quality. I have zero complaints other than the balcony chairs could be upgraded to something a bit nicer. Restaurant downstairs was delicious. Pool was gorgeous with the free fruit water. Gerry the concierge was such an informative nice guy & maddisyn at the front desk was so sweet I even gave her a hug she goes above and beyond and deserves a raise or promotion to supervisor.

Had to pay for beach chairs, should be free with resort. Too many kids for my liking. Booked this hotel with spouse because it looked very adult like but there were way too many kids running around screaming and jumping all over the pool and hot tub area couldn’t enjoy it as an adult. Lady that works in spa front desk isn’t very nice.

It was beautiful! Great location right on the strip and end of the island! Beautiful sunset views on the beachfront property and from our room! We could see dolphins and manatee from our balcony! Close walk to pier 60. A lot of tour options nearby, from booze cruis to jet ski rentals. Pool area was comfortable and pool service was excellent! Sea-Guini, the in-hotel restaurant, has multiple dishes that were just out of this world and the service was on point and our glasses were never empty! They offer many drink options as well! Pool is open decently late( 10-10;30 pm. ) kid and animal friendly!

The staff, restaurants, pools, and fitness center were wonderful. Everyone was so kind and courteous. The service was outstanding!

The pull out twin size bed for my daughter was HORRENDOUS!! The mattress barely fit the frame. The mattress was thin and uncomfortable. The sheets for the bed did not fit and the extra blanket was huge. I would not recommend this room option for a family of three. The hotel's location is far from the main shops and restaurants. We knew that but stayed here anyway. If you are okay with walking far distances, which we were, then you should be all set.

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon last week and can't say enough good about this resort! We had a beautiful room, with a fantastic view of the beach and sunset. The staff was exceptional, too: Dessieraye, Kaitlyn, and Elizabeth at the front desk, Emily our server at the pool, and Seth at the towel station especially! Thank you for making us feel so welcome, and for making our honeymoon so spectacular. We will DEFINITELY be back!!!!!!

Literally cannot say a bad thing about this place. We were here during tropical storm Elsa last week, and the staff made us feel so safe and reassured. There wasn't a single thing we DIDN'T like.

A very modern hotel, friendly brightly designed with stylish restaurant and beautiful pool area. The rooms offer a great view of the sea and the beach. The service is friendly and helpful and rooms are pleasant in size and facilities. The beach bar offers good protection from the sun and wind and is a good change from the pool environment

The beach in Clearwater is a bit crowded and there are deck chairs after deck chairs, almost like on the Italian Adriatic Sea. The pool area also gets a little crowded very quickly.

The room had an amazing view of the pool and beach, it was very clean and comfortable. The pool over looked the ocean and we saw a manatee on our first day. In the mornings and evenings we were even able to see dolphins breaking water, one day we saw two dolphins jumping out of the water following a boat. The staff was absolutely AMAZING and very friendly and helpful. Every single staff member we came into contact with with so nice and welcoming. My husband and and I also visited the spa twice while we were there and received massages. They were amazing!! We will definitely be staying at this resort again it was absolutely beautiful and exceeded all of our expectations.

The only thing we didn’t like is that the room didn’t have a refrigerator. Even just a mini fridge would have been nice. We felt like we wasted a lot of delicious food because we didn’t have anyway to keep what didn’t eat fresh.

The view the amenities the cleanliness the attention to detail. The decorations was beautiful the food was amazing restaurant was top notch! The room service was very nice there was always something to do at Opal. Opal saved our honeymoon we were supposed to fly out of the country but a certain airline ruined it. I can not thank them enough the staff was wonderful and took great care of us I was blown away!

I really could not find anything that I did not like about my stay at all.

Rooms were very clean and the view was beautiful from the 12th floor and we loved the proximity to the beach. We were lucky to observe from our balcony above the pool area, what we thought were two manatees swimming under water. We were also lucky to catch three dolphins playing along the beach early morning. Food was tasty including omelette at breakfast. The fruit and cookie basket was also a nice treat.

One light on the wall went out and when a maintenance guy came to fix it, he could not. He told us that it would need the removal of the wall. He then brought a different portable lamp, which kind of looked awkward considering the nice room. However, the following day, a pleasant lady called Paula, at the reception desk was able to move us to a different similar room.

No free meals at all, prices were a bit pricey

At least one free breakfast we were only there for one day and I spent almost 2000.00 and I paid cash and wanted to make it all cash but my first night was charged to my card even though I was told I could pay the whole bill at checkout. They don't even have 56cents in change. Whatever! I'm a widow of a 29yr combat veteran and I couldn't get a military discount! This was my first time out at a resort in 3years! I'm not the rich and famous you are used to but my sister and myself have been through very traumatic deaths of our loved ones. I am glad that I could spoil her a bit. But we both deserve better! We basically paid a boat load for sleeping there. 4pm Monday checkout 11am Wednesday. So, one day at the resort. For 657.00 a night! Ridiculous!

clean, great balconies, no road or street in front of it. free Cookies in pantry daily, free water bottles, free ice cream around the pool at 2pm.

Parking is a nightmare- valet only and tips for each drive we took w rental car, tips expected with every bag, tips for every room tidy, male concierge was rude when asked what was complimentary - since we found out the trolly was free for all Opal sands guests through a trolly driver on the last day. He said “well walking is free, you found out the trolly is free, pool is free, beach is free, walking is free…” eyeroll… rude and condescending.
