Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Columbus-Fort Benning, an IHG Hotel

The front desk clerk on the 3pm-11pm shift was very professional, welcoming and gave great customer service.

Upon arrival, we did not have any towels in our room due laundry was being done late. In addition, our family was outside with other guests in the pool area and the clerk from front desk on the 11pm-7am shift was racist. We had been in the pool ares for a few hours and no complaints. Mind you, it was Caucasian people and African Americans people outside in pool area and she came to us (African Americans) and said we was keeping up too much noise. She pick our group out of everyone to complain about and said nothing to anyone else. She had just came on duty. We was very rude and racist. In addition, the breakfast bar suck. No meat and was very limited for the price of hotel with continental breakfast.

The accommodation was good.., the room, beds and the Breakfast was fantastic. Hot stuff for breakfast is the best. The location is excellent!

The older lady at night needs to be fired. We do not know if she was just lazy or what. When she was outside and my husband and kid was getting things out to take to the room . She was asking too many questions, unnecessary questions because it is non of her business. In the morning when my children went to see her to ask for extra towels she refused to give any of it. And said, the housekeeping is not open till such and such time. There is a sign in the room that says we can have extra . So it's either she was lazy, cranky because she was working all night or just a mean person in general. Working in an industry like that you have to do your best for your guest. We are paying guest. For $200 a night , we deserve good service. It only takes one person to bring you down.

The breakfast was better than other motels that I have stayed at. The mattress was firm which I love because I have a poor back. The staff was very friendly and helpful because when I arrived at 5PM my room was not ready but they explained why and one of the staff members ran to the room to see why. When she returned she apologized because the cleaning staff had not check that the room had been cleaned and it was ready. Both staff members apologized for the inconvenience and quickly checked me in. I also needed to received a room for the following week and the staff was more then happy to reserve a better room for me for my next stay and the price of the room was a lot better (lower in price).

That my room was not ready when I arrived at 5PM. Most all motel have a check in time of 3PM and not to have my room ready at 5PM was an inconvenience to me.

The beds and pillows were very comfortable, overall the entire facility interior was spotless and clean. Breakfast on site made it easy to quickly head out and start our day. The front desk woman working 3-11 pm weekday shift was exceptionally friendly and helpful and she exuded the southern hospitality reputation we heard about prior to our first trip to Georgia from the Northeast. I had read some negative reviews about this hotel and was a bit apprehensive prior to our arrival, however we were pleased with this Holiday Inn and would definitely stay here again. The location close to Ft. Benning was perfect for us.

At 9 am on day four of our stay we requested fresh towels with the Saturday morning front desk staff and they were never provided, although the food and beverages we had in the fridge were removed. There is a sign on the front desk stating housekeeping requests must be made by noon. The “gravy” for biscuits and gravy at the breakfast buffet was inedible.

I liked how friendly the staff was, they would always greet me with a smile. The bed rooms were also cozy and clean and the location was easy to get to as well as the breakfast that would remain warm. Overall it was an great experience.

The only thing that i didn't like is the lack of food and snacks in the hotel its self. I wish they would sell sandwiched or something quick and easy for the go.

The staff was excellent. They helped us locate restaurants and were very appreciative of all military families. It was great to meet and talk to other families whose son's/daughters are service members.

Booking.com would not allow me to leave a day early to get closer to the ATL airport. I had to eat that nights stay.

We had the opportunity to meet the owner for the second time as we have stayed there before. He is such a kind and approachable individual that made us feel special and invited us to return at no cost to us. Very seldom do we see the owner of a hotel that's so friendly, and making the guests feel welcome. We love Columbus.

The beds are comfortable. The staff was very nice. It was a nice hotel otherwise clean all around the vicinity and everywhere else. My favorite was it was quiet. Had some good sleep as I wasn't sleeping good and driving all the way from Wisconsin

The carpet really needs a good shampooing, a lot of stains. There was like crackers or food in the bathroom behind the right foot stand of the shelf. And it looks like a little bit of mold is starting to grow in the bathtub. I usually stay in cheap motels but we were looking forward to the swimming pool. And every day they said oh it will be open tomorrow, oh it will be open tomorrow and it never opened and we had to leave the third day. That was very disappointing. Otherwise it was a okay pretty nice motel I don't usually ever stay at Holiday inn but my daughter-in-law was staying as we came from my son's graduation at Fort Benning. So it was a nicer motel than I usually stay in I just can't believe all the add-on taxes and crap down there.

The cleanliness of the room and how friendly the staff was. I chose this hotel because it was close to Fort Benning.

The showers were not great, the water did not come out well. The water forcefully dribbled down and not out so the water was very close to the wall. I also didn't like the breakfast. The eggs didn't taste good and there was no bacon despite the sign saying there was bacon.

Room was perfect, right next to dog area where I could take out our dogs when needed and bed was super comfortable! The front desk clerk Donna was the most amazing person and was so sweet and welcoming. We had to stay for my father in-laws memorial and she was so empathetic and caring and made us feel like family. Would definitely recommend this location and would stay here again as they allow dogs and the dog park area was super convenient. Thank you!

I know there’s a lot of restrictions due to covid but since it has a kitchenette, most locations with these provide paper plates, plastic utensils and paper towels. But if that’s all I have to say I didn’t like that’s huge because this place was excellent in my book.
