Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Springfield Northampton/Amherst

First of all Northampton is a fun city to explore and has some beautiful biking paths. It was a nice place to stop on the way towards our final destination. This hotel was in a great location easily able to walk to town and explore. The hotel was nice and clean with a full breakfast. The staff, as well, were helpful and sweet. I had paid for the hotel through booking.com but their system did not fully register this and they patiently worked with me to figure out the issue. I also liked the fitness center - a bit bigger than most hotel gyms and I always appreciate when they have dumbbells - not a given with many hotels). And again, very clean which is always the most important part of a hotel for me. We also had a gorgeous view of some mountains from our window and we watched the sun set.

My only complaint is that the room was a bit small for the price. I felt a bit cramped. For one night it was ok but multiple nights could get annoying.

We really wanted dinner room service. We had to order from a local place and the food was crappy. Since they have the free breakfast in the morning, they can’t use COVID as an excuse not to offer room service.

We were only in town for one night and I'm so glad we picked here to stay. The breakfast was awesome, I had low expectations because of everything with covid but they are on top of it here! Great location near tons of places to eat and shop.

Free breakfast is amazing: real eggs for a muffin sandwich, sausage patties, bagels, freshly-cut pineapple/cantaloupe, waffles u make, oatmeal with condiments of shredded coconut, chopped nuts, and more of the standard fare. The older Asian woman who manages the breakfast bar has been there since my last visit in 2021 and she is so helpful and kind. Also nice to see they have genuine Sriracha sauce there.

It would be nice if there was a grocery store or small market nearby, but that is on the city of Northampton and not the hotel.

It’s clean, it’s a great location, and the staff is nice. I can’t compliment your staff more highly. The front desk employees were courteous, professional, helpful, and patient with guests.

The room didn’t have enough toilet paper. There was LESS THAN a half roll only. Not enough for a 2 night stay for two adults. Had to go to the front desk to get it. The facility was also understaffed. I do realize that this is probably due to the pandemic. Lastly, the “breakfast” was pretty sad. Again, I assume this is due to the pandemic. I certainly hope this improves as restrictions have largely been lifted.

Great staff, good breakfast, clean

Internet didn’t work, the TV channels had issues due to no internet. Work out room was set at 77 degrees which made working out uncomfortable. We complained but nothing was done. AC in rooms doesn’t go below 68 degrees.

The grab-and-go breakfast was more than adequate, but its availability should have been better communicated. The front desk staff were friendly, helpful, accommodating, efficient—couldn’t ask for more. The room was perfect—nicely laid out, with adequate storage, convenient outlets for charging devices. The bed linens and towels were pristine and luxurious. The TV was great and easy to use, even if its greeting me by name each time I turned it on was vaguely creepy.

Even given Covid restrictions and understandable reductions in unnecessary housekeeping, we would have appreciated opportunities to empty the trash and recycling receptacles in the room. Guests are ordering takeout rather than eating at restaurants. Trash receptacles in the public areas (where the breakfast buffet would normally be) would be welcome.

Staff were wonderful, entire facility was clean, room was comfortable and clean. Are was accessible to walk so over the city. I will recommend this hotel.

The pool seemed like it could have used a good cleaning but it was good "enough". Water was cloudy.

Very comfortable beds, comfortable room, clean building, quiet, decent breakfast with hot options. Location is walking distance to downtown Northampton and with easy access to the highway.

The shower could have been cleaner. Some members of the housekeeping staff were not wearing their masks properly.
