Carson City Plaza Hotel

Super quiet room and comfortable bed in an older hotel in the center of Carson City. Easy to find. Good parking. Really nice staff.

Just want to clarify that there is not a hot breakfast. There are a variety of breads, muffins and waffles for toasting, hard boiled eggs, juice, coffee, tea, cereal, packets of oatmeal, and yogurt. But it was plentiful.

the hotel itself was a great location to shops and restaurants nearby. Also, close to the freeway. The room was good size with a large bathroom. I like the hospitality of the staff: they were engaging and made you feel welcome to be there.

The only thing that irritated me was the fact that we were not warned of early morning (8AM) construction next to our room on a Saturday morning (we got there late Friday night). Had I been warned I would have asked for a room further away from the noise so my wife and I can sleep through Saturday morning ( we couldn't because of the noise). So a telephone or text message warning would have been nice.

This older property was clean and the staff was friendly. The neighborhood was safe, and there were lots of places to choose for meals close by. The beds were comfortable, and linens were clean and fresh. The morning breakfast was satisfying and reasonable in relation to the very reasonable price of the room. My husband I would stay in the Carson City Plaza Hotel again when we want to spend time in the area.

We met friends who also stayed at this hotel. We found tables and benches outside for visiting, but it would have been nice to have a larger lobby area, or a more accommodating area to sit and talk inside of the property.

The staff was kind and helpful. The location was great as it is right across the street from Black Bear Diner so food options were appreciated. The room was spacious and we had no trouble connecting to WiFi and streaming our favorite shows.

The beds were super soft and squishy without much support. In the bathroom, there was a cluster of tiny bugs under the sink. The lighting was dim and the tree painting on our wall looked like it was covering up water damage so it was off-putting. Perhaps it was not water damage but unfortunately, the coloring did make it look that way.

The hotel honored our request for room location. We stayed in the main hotel building. There is also an annex building behind the main building. The room was very big and the bed comfortable. We could open the windows to get a nice breeze at night. The neighborhood behind the hotel (away from the main street) was quiet. The hotel was full, but we didn't hear any other guests.

Even though this is a non-smoking hotel, and there were signs saying that you cannot smoke within 500 feet of the hotel, there was a smoking area with seating and ashtrays right next to where you unload the car at the main entrance so you could not avoid the smoke. The air conditioner and the refrigerator were both noisy.

Hotel conveniently located downtown with everything accessible on foot. Room was comfortable. Cold breakfast provided in the large dining room . Laundry room on the premises.

Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable! The full size fridge was great :o) I'm sorry we weren't able to stay longer!

Location was good for our interest in being able to walk through downtown. Room & bathroom were very clean, beds average comfort. The fridge, micro and sink set up was very nice to have. Ice machines on each floor. Coffee was hot and better than other at other places we've stayed. Water bottle fill station in lobby.

There were a few minor things in the room that needed repair but may not have been reported by previous guests or cleaning staff to the desk, but when we mentioned them the front desk staff person wrote them down.

Great staff! Clean hotel, very comfortable beds. Breakfast was a great variety, boiled eggs, Belgian waffles, English muffins, blueberries muffins, coffee, tea, milk, cereal, orange juice, cranberry juice, and much more! Love it!

After our first night - Our room keys got accidentally deactivated by hotel personnel ( they somehow thought we are assigned to a 243 room, but we stayed in 143). Was not a big deal at all! They reactivated all of them after double checking. Definitely we will be back here.

Although an older hotel, it was very clean and the room was incredibly spacious, having a separate sitting room with TV in addition to bedroom with TV. The bed was very comfortable along with all the other furnishings. The basic complimentary breakfast was similar to higher end hotels. The staff were friendly and helpful. Instead of staying at the newer hotel with my friends, which was right next to the freeway entering town, I delighted in the proximity of this hotel to the capital, the Governor’s Mansion, the Museum and the many quaint eateries and shops.

I would suggest they update the bedspreads, which dated the property.
