Hyatt Place Garden City

The staff were very friendly and polite. The 2 queen beds with lounge area was a great size for a family. The location was amazing with restaurants, malls, shopping outlets, and outdoor activities. Can't say enough about the location! Also, Westbury is calm, clean, and just reminded of us of home in Cambridge, Ontario.

The pool does need to be updated. Seems there are a few ongoing mechanical issues. Weight room is pretty basic but does the job. Our room was okay....what you would expect at this star rating, but again, small touches like the quality of toilet paper (1ply) tissue paper (1 ply), blankets( thin...think top sheet), and hotel products were all on the low economical side. Just go to Whole Foods (across the street) and get your products!

Absolutely love the location and how it is within walking distance of eateries and shopping. LOVE the semi private King rooms. My husband and I travel a lot with a much older family member, so the partition between sofa bed living area and bedroom area works. Loved how that staff was accommodating to change my family to the 1st floor after a fire alarm situation. Family members is challenged with the ability to maneuver stairs

Bathroom way too small for someone who is handicapped using a walker.

Housekeeping of room excellent. Breakfast buffet amazing: great variety of food and drinks. That was my kids favorite part.

I called in maybe 3 hours prior to arriving to see if I could be accommodated at least 1-2 hours prior due to having 3 small children. I was told by reception I could check in 45 minutes beforehand which was okay with me. I got on location at 235 pm only to be told there was no available room and it would be at least another 30 minutes. Now at this point I had brought out my kids as well as my belongings and had to take it right back to my car. Definitely lack of communication at that point. Only downfall.

The on-site parking was convenient. The hotel is clean the room was spacious and clean. Next time we will stay the whole weekend to make use of the pool. We enjoyed having a nice getaway spot that’s not far from home.

There wasn’t any real direction on where anything was in the hotel. We ordered food from outside but they forgot our utensils and my husband couldn’t find any in the lobby. The phone in the room didn’t work. The TV was confusing to use, there weren’t many channel options if you didn’t log into chrome cast.

Amazing hotel experience, staff is very pleasant and respectful!!! Pool was sooo amazing and breakfast buffet was sooooo delicious! Definitely bringing my family back here, the children were so excited and had so much fun. Very relaxing get away… excellent job laundry, more than enough blankets, pillows, towels, very clean - what a wonderful hotel and staff you all are amazing! Parking is right in front and every store you can think of nearby! Love it all. Thank you! Refund deposit was given soon as checked out.

it was clean, nice fitness center and a good location

we booked a room with two queen beds for my family of three (which I verified to the front desk and they confirmed) but we’re put in a room with one king since all other rooms were sold old. I learned that we were moved to accommodate a large group that was staying at the hotel. This was very disappointing, and the hotel did fix it the next day but I should have had some price adjustment for the situation. I did not. one elevator was also out of service, which was an inconvenience

Breakfast was great.Alot of different choices.Breakfast staff are friendly.

No one was ever at the front desk.You had to call out to them or housekeeping had to get them.Didnt feel the disability room worked.Didnt like no nightlight or sink in the bathroom.The showerhead was a joke only about five feet from the floor and it kept slipping down the pole.It was actually difficult to shower.

Location was great with stores right across from hotel. Breakfast was great. Never been to a hotel where old fashioned rolled oatmeal was already cooked and hot. Delicious. Not instant packaged that you add hot water. Same with the pancakes- freshly made and hot.

Available to offer plain yogurt, not just flavored which are full of sugar.

I live in Maryland and came to New York for brain surgery at NYU Langone. Having a clean hotel and a comfy bed are super important to me and Hyatt Place lived up to my standards. My husband and I both loved the beds and pillows. The room was clean and when we needed fresh towels or more toilet paper the response was quick! I requested a quiet room since we had to stay in NY for a few nights after I got out of the hospital, our room was super quiet! 10/10 I would not only stay in this particular hotel again but I will look for a Hyatt Place hotel wherever we travel too next. Thanks Hyatt Place for helping to make a horrible surgery a lot more comfortable!

The rooms and amenities were great

Check in was rough. Rep did. not communicate well and did not explain anything to me. ( breakfast, Wi-Fi, housekeeping, parking etc). She gave me a key which was not programmed and caused me to be late to an event I have scheduled. Everyone else at the front was very nice and professional. I never seen that young lady again after my check in the other staff members ( 2 men and a woman) were great and very welcoming !
