Great location, staff are helpful and polite. The room was clean and although it was small and cosy it had ample storage space and really did the job. The WiFi was free and very quick all day round. There is also a secure bag room you can use after you've checked out which is handy. Would recommend 100%

Everything about this hotel is fabulous, but the staff are amazing! So helpful, friendly and so considerate. The best recommendations I’ve got are from the staff and they really do personalise each recommendation. They’re super accommodating and always have a friendly smile regardless of the time of day/night! The location is amazing, walking distances from all the monuments and tourist attractions along with been in close proximity of residential area with lots of fab coffee shops, restaurants and peaceful suburbs. Over all stunning! The rooms are exactly what you want and the shower is glorious with fab products too if you forget yours!

we loved the location. Just a couple blocks off of Times Square, but felt like a real New York neighborhood, out of the hustle and bustle…a quieter neighborhood. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go, including to dinner in Hell’s Kitchen, several shows in the theater district, and places like Rockefeller Center, Saint Patrick’s, Herald’s Square, and more. We flew in to JFK and took the air train to Jamaica Station, then hopped on a subway and got off at 50th St., with a less than 4 minute walk to The Civilian. The rooms, cozy Queens, were beautifully appointed, with all of the amenities one could ask for. I loved the floor to ceiling window next to the bed and waking up and going to bed seeing incredible views of the city was such a treat (pictured)! The bed was very comfortable and the towels were soft & fluffy. All of the furnishings, from the wallpaper and beautiful framed photographs-of Broadway moments and personalities— in the hallways to the light fixtures in the common spaces and in our rooms, were thoughtfully chosen and really added to the overall vibe. We chose the hotel initially because of the Broadway theme and were not disappointed by all the beautiful decor including the set models and the other memorabilia from Broadway shows displayed in the bar area. The bar was lovely (pictured) and it was fun to get a drink after a show. The staff was very friendly.

I don’t really have any complaints, though coffee/tea in the room would’ve been great. I understand that because they’re such cozy rooms that there’s probably not room. And it’s easy enough to walk down to the bar and get the complementary coffee or tea, which was much appreciated. An additional hook or small surface in the bathroom for personal items is the only other thing I can think of that might be lacking. But I’m really nitpicking.

If you’re looking to be close to theater, this is an ideal location, minutes away from the majority of Broadway and many off Broadway shows. Also, a 10-15 min walk to Central Park and Grand Central Terminal. Caroline’s comedy club and Birdland Jazz Club also minutes away. The room had an amazing view. It was very small, with barely any closet space, so be cautious in that respect. Not the greatest option if you plan to lounge in your room for most of your stay or have a lot of bags and clothing. Larger rooms certainly may be available so that’s worth keeping in mind. At the same time the room was elegantly decorated, immaculate, and the bed was very comfortable. Excellent options to check in early (as early as 10 am) and leave late for reasonable additional fees. And access to a amazing gym nearby with salt water pool and sauna, also for a reasonable fee.

The staff, the location and the conditions and newness.

No arrangement with nearby garage (or at least that’s what the recommended garage claimed when we left). Exorbitant price for a small breakfast. No coffee/tea available around the clock (in room or otherwise).

I liked the location and the rooms. The location was very good, we could go everywhere. The rooms were very cozy and clean. Super high tech and comfortable.

I didn't like the restaurant. The food was bitter and a bit unsanitary. I found sand in my oysters and pasta.

Pros: - the primary reason I booked is the view, and boy, does that not disappoint! Absolutely fantastic waking up every day to the city view! - location is fantastic, literally 5 min from time square - the personnel is very helpful, there were some issues with the AC in my first room, but they were quick to get me a new room

- it is small, but then again, that should be clear from the description. The oftentimes mentioned problems with the shower flooding the bathroom I didn't have at all. - AC is blowing quite a bit of dust around, that is not ideal - had some issues figuring out how to switch the AC off during the night, but managed to figure it out in the end.

Very welcoming and helpful staff. We had 3 days of unexpected rain and they lent us umbrellas so we could still go sightseeing. They also looked after our bags for ages after we'd checked out on our last day. Superb cocktail lounge and unexpected jazz band playing. The roof bar / lounge was stunning, and the views are amazing.... once we got to see it! :-(

The one disappointment was that the roof bar / terrace only opens in the evening. On Friday & Saturday night it's a nightclub and when we tried to go up, we were very politely discouraged from doing so (frankly because our age and style didn't fit!!) We did manage to get up there on Sunday evening but it was raining & freezing cold so didn't stay long.

Reception staff as well as restaurant and cocktail bar staff were great, very helpful and polite, especially Michael B. View from the room was amazing and restaurant food was delicious. Location of the hotel was also great since all the famous touristy locations were close. Would definitely recommend to anyone who plans to come to New York City

We were told that since we stayed for 10 days, we will have room cleaning service every 2 days but that was not the case. Only 2 times during our stay, our room was cleaned (poorly cleaned) and it was done only when we asked for room cleaning at the reception desk.
