OYO Times Square

We booked this hotel 30 minutes before going into it. We had another hotel that had some very big issues and we found this one available. We love the photos and the location and we decided to go with it. The moment we entered, we could see how professional and amazing this hotel is. The staff was incredibly friendly and they explained to us all their rules and the reasons for the fees. We finalized the check-in in less than 5 minutes and we got our keys. We stayed on the 6th floor. We didn't ask for extra cleaning because the place was very clean. The room was in a great spot and if you love the traffic sound, that's the place to be because it's right on Times Square. The hotel provided us with earplugs. There is also the hair dryer and the vault to keep your personal things safe. Great location and great staff! We had a wonderful experience and the price was just right! We love it!

Personally, I don't think there is something could have done better. Two calls out are the noise of the location. You are always going to hear sirens, traffic, and much more. You are in Times Square, so be ready for all these noises. If you are looking for a quiet spot, this is not the right hotel for you. The second one is the room sizes. They are quite small. So if you have some sort of claustrophobia, make sure to double-check with the hotel before. They might have some bigger rooms, but I'm sure. I personally loved my room and everything was great, so I didn't have to ask for anything bigger than what I got.

This Hotel is a true case of a "best kept secret" and for the first time in all of my reviews I was tempted to keep it for myself so I can use it again. Staying in Manhattan can be challenging but finding a clean and quiet room in the center of everything at a price of a pourly furnished Airbnb place is a down right miracle. OYO Times Square was renovated this year and it is the best value you could possibly find in NYC at this time. For about $200 per night, you'll get a small clean room with basics. There is not enough space here for 2 fat people (sorry for being crude) but otherwise it is all you need. Everything works great - carpeted floors and hallways, tasteful colors with no flash, good lighting, proper shower and sink and a comfortable queen sized bed with quality bedding. There is no hot water cattle or a fridge in here but you do get a safe and a flat screen tv. The built in AC is excellent and quiet. The room was so quiet (while just 50 meters from the center of Times Square) that I had to pinch myself several times - it is hard to believe it.... so if you're looking for a safe, clean and affordable place in Manhattan you have just found one!

Front desk was better than expected, very accommodating and helpful. The doorman was doggy and tried to put me on a $90 taxi ride to JFK. (flat rate that yellow cab has to offer you is just $65 for JFK, $35 for LaGuardia airport)

nothing I didn’t like! rooms are small but it was more than big enough for me and my 2 giant cases!!

the room was very big and comfortable, the bathroom did not have a bath tub which for us was a completely PRO, the location was spectacular near to diverse subway lines and you can also do a bunch of tourism walking around.

the hotel is improving a lot which is not a bad thing but can be inconvenient for some people, also if you have trouble sleeping with noise it may be a problem for you since the hotel is very close to times square (as the name of the hotel suggests) and it’s a place that really never sleeps in NYC. but nothing much to complain.

I like the location easy Chek in and clean I like that you have to have a key to get on the elevator makes me feel really safe

I did not like that there is no ice machine I did not like that they advertised a restaurant that is not theirs and the elevators take forever On another note if you are plus size or have any knee problems like myself the bed is really low and the shower is really small

Location, friendly staff, easy check in, large TV, small dresser below the TV was helpful to keep room organized, as well as the amount of hangers.

shower curtain is always a downside for me. the ones from my room didn’t look dirty or anything like that, but I personally don’t like shower curtains at all, so if the shower had glass sliding doors instead would be much better. Also having a little shelf in the shower would be great, to place shampoos, conditioner etc. bathroom did not have any exhaust system which was another down side because I had to keep the windows open so it would ventilate properly

All employees were very helpful. The location, so close to Broadway, Times Sq and Avenue of the Americas was GREAT. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. I needed to be in this location. If I once more needed to trade lower price and amenities for a great location I would stay here again. The room was much smaller and had no amenities that I'm used to (refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker) but I guess that's the way it is in a city like New York. The bathroom was good except for low water pressure in the shower. I'm grateful for the Blackout drapes as it was like daylight outside at 3 AM due to the construction and city lights. Lots of great restaurants closeby, and gyro/kebab/shwarma carts open all night. Disappointed not to find any Hot Dog carts nearby, it was a New York experience I was looking forward to.

Location, location, location.

With a Superior Queen reservation, as we arrived they gave us an “inferior double” room. It was so tiny that we could not move around because of the luggage. And the heating was sooo noisy that we had to turn it off and ask for blankets. After I strongly complained about it, they said that I could change rooms, but only the next day. Finally, the next day we got an adequate room.

My flight was delayed so I ended up checking in about 2 a.m and I was upgraded to a King size bed on the 10th floor. That was nice. Love the minimal design.

The upgraded bedroom door was open and was not ready. Shower curtain was missing yet it had a half glass wall so it was ok. There is plenty of room for at least 1 chair by the window which would be nice. Again plenty of room for a small dorm fridge and microwave for leftovers since there is so many restaurants around.

Nice lobby and a very helpful stuff. comfortable bed. Clean shower.

The location is just round the corner from Times Square, so it's extremely busy. A building in front is under construction, so it's always loud. Our window was facing a wall, so close we could, probably touch it out of our room. Which is why it's always dark and feels like a basement, though we lived on the 6th floor. Air conditioner is so loud, it's almost impossible to sleep, when it's on. Sound isolation is very poor - you can hear neighbors coming and leaving just like they are entering your room every time.
