Hilton Garden Inn New York Manhattan Midtown East

The hotel exceeded nearly all my expectations ! The staff is exceptional, both professional and friendly. I would especially like to thank the housekeeping manger for retrieving items I inadvertently left in the room. The location can not be beat ! The subway is literaly around the corner. There are many coffee shops and restaurants w/in easy walking distance from the hotel, which I recommend over the hotel restaurant. I recommend Smith and Wollensky around the corner if you have a hankering for a juicy steak and a dry martini. I felt very comfortable in the neighboorhood, as a woman traveling alone this is always a top priority. My room was extreamly quite ( no noise whatsoever from either the street or guests). The room was immaculate, the carpet looked very fresh ( no stains or significant wear and tear). The linens were crisp and the bed was comforable. The room ( on the 27th floor) was well equipped and the bathroom was spic and span with all the necessary essentials. Note: I recommend considering all your needs and doing your research before booking a hotel in NYC. Keep in mind that more $ does not necessarily get you more space or a more modern hotel. Consider your ideal neighborhood, are you traveling for business or pleasure? Are there are specific facilities that you require? A business center or gym? Or perhaps there are specific sites on your NYC bucket list. Also, do not hesitate to call the hotel directly and get a feel for the staff. How helpful are they in providing the info. you need in order to make your final decision? My short list always includes Convenience, cleanliness, hotel reputation, location, and personal safety. The Hilton Garden Inn meets all these standards and is an exceptional value, in my experience.

My only complaint about the room was that there was no actual closet, just a small built in wardrobe. While it was workable for me, I think it would be challenging for more than 2 guests. The room is on the small side, but I want the note that I have stayed in no less than two dozen hotels in NYC and the size of the room is actually average for NYC.

The location of the Hilton Garden Inn worked very well for us. We caught the subway in from JFK and then it’s a very short, easy walk to the hotel from Lexington Ave station. We used the subway a lot and both the nearby Lexington Ave and 51 St stations offer excellent options for getting around the city by public transport. There is a fabulous, very popular bagel place (Ess-a-Bagel) just around the corner (order on line to breeze past the queues!) and there’s a gorgeous, tiny park with a waterfall (Greenacre Park) behind the hotel to eat your breakfast bagel in. Central Park is an easy walk away and ditto Grand Central Station in the other direction.

Spacious and clean rooms and hotel. Beds were pretty comfortable. Pillows were great. Nice area near subway lines. Hotel was quiet. Didn't hear neighbors and we slept well. Parked at recommended garage one block away for around $50 per day.

Like others said, one elevator was down for our whole week stay. At some times this wasn't a huge deal, but on checkout day it took 40+minutes for an elevator to stop at our floor with enough room for even one person to get on with our heaviest luggage...the others were prepared to walk the 18 floors down but couldn't haul luggage. I'd ask for a lower floor next time as I worried what would happen if both went down since they run nonstop.

The location was convenient in midtown Manhattan, close to the subway and walking distance to many attractions in the Midtown area. The room size was decent and larger than many of the typical older Manhattan hotel rooms. We stayed at the New Yorker the last time and this room was decently larger. The trade off with this chain budget hotel is no frills, no onsite restaurant (actually there was one but it was closed). They let us hold our bags and the guy was super friendly and accommodating.

The check in agent wasn't that friendly but he did let us check in early. The daily maid service was inconsistent with stocking towels and soap. Had to ask a couple of times to have them bring up more.

Everything was super clean. To me that’s non negotiable. I arrived early and they had my room ready, let me check in two hours early. They have complementary coffee for breakfast on the lobby. The staff also stored my luggage for free after checkout for some hours until I left for the airport. The staff was super nice. I’ll definitely come back. And the location is great.

Can’t think of anything. Maybe they could add more snack choices to sell in the lobby.

Location is very good, close to subway stations, rooms are comfortable and clean, the bed is large and comfortable. The neighborhood has quite a few solid restaurants, and there is fast food (McDonalds) very close for those who enjoy it.

The breakfast buffet was monotonous and not what one would expect for a $400+ a room. Perhaps some more variety in the available buffet would be better (the cook was fine and made pancakes, omlets and waffles)

The Hotel are in the midtown. Everything are walking distance and subway are just few steps away.Behind the hotel are Panda express and Mc Donald very convenient if you traveling with kids. I will definitely book here again and recommend to Family and Friends.

If you booked thru 3rd party. ALWAYS check ur receipts and ask for a receipt.We got charge 200 dollars more than the expected amount .Staff was friendly to Fixed the amount .

Great hotel overall with amenities, awesome location to explore all of NYC, good value for money if you're a crowd of four. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful with everything. The hotel offers daily housekeeping, so that was nice.

Elevator card reader needs an upgrade, the rooms were good but our 4-person room didn't have enough space for 4 people to move around comfortably (crammed), the hotel didn't keep enough coffee pods every day for all of us, and the beds were very uncomfortable.

Perfect location in the best area of Manhattan. Away from the crowds but close to everything you'd look. Metro is just around the corner and the line from JFK stops here directly. In the middle of the intersection of the bus and metro lines. You can even walk to the fifth avenue, times square etc. A large Starbucks is nearby. The room has a microwave and refrigerator and a coffee machine. So you can cut up your hunger easily. The fitness room is also nice but I couldn't stand after long walks through the HUGE streets, shops and everything of New York

The room was not as big as I expect at this price range. So maybe a little bit expensive.

convenient location

we asked for daily room cleaning service on check in and never received any service. the toilet constantly ran as a result of a slow leak in the tank resulting in disruption of sleep, the toilet paper holder was broken and should have been easily repaired. in addition the top of the toilet was apparently from a different style of toilet and we were constantly dealing with the concern that the toilet top would fall of and shatter while we were in the bathroom with bear feet.
