The room was small but comfortable. Probably the quietest room I've ever had in New York.
Check in seemed rushed. They need to be more flexible with check in time. I called to see if I could possibly check in a little early and got a very terse reply "no". As a business traveler it's sometimes important to maybe get access to a shower after a long flight. Also they should have some access to water. There wasn't even a cup to drink out of the tap. I found out after the fact that there was a water dispenser on the 12th floor but you needed your own bottle or cup. Something that would have been nice to know upon check in.

the location is terrific. You can walk to so many areas in Manhatten and it is very close to Central Park, something important to me
You are asked to pay an additional fee to access wifi and also a snack breakfast. It is USD40 and it wasn't clear when booking. This is mandatory also. Also, there is a great terrace but not even tables to sit at.

The staff and location - fabulous. Really friendly and in a great spot. There is no traffic noise on the higher floors. Good sized bathroom, with a bath. The view from the top floor of the Chrysler Building is breathtaking. 5th Avenue, Central Park, Empire State all a short walk away.
Noisy air con. It’d be good to be able to open windows just enough to let some air in. The rooms are quite small but this is New York, we have to accept space is a premium. No fault of the hotel but Booking.com didn’t pay for our room in time for our arrival which was irritating. Luckily the hotel were really helpful and kind and let us have the room anyway. Luckily the money came through the next day but stressful arrival and booking.com’ s fault.

I paid for an upgrade to a room with a "great view" of Manhattan. I probably should have managed my expectations, the view was not luxury, not even great, it was just meh.

The hotel doesn't have bottles of water to sell.. this is unacceptable for an hotel. they should be able to sell a bottle of water if someone asks for . i have to go out and look for it at 9 pm.... i didn't know they didn't have any. this is something they should work on it

Raymond on the front desk made our trip .we had a few issues with a noisy room we asked to move but were told it was impossible and actually the lady said the building works shouldn’t bother us as we would be out during the day which I found odd , they started works at 7am each morning we definitely weren’t out at 7am . After a few days of noisy mornings we asked again and thankfully Raymond made it possible and also kindly printed us out a list of recommended restaurants and bars . He was so friendly and knowledgeable about the area . He made our trip so thank you Raymond .
Some staff were quite short and disinterested. Before booking you should ask for a high floor and check for building works .

Stayed in the room with a friend of mine for a mutual friend's wedding. Great location that's a ten minute walk from Central Park in Manhattan. Beds were comfortable. Space was a little tight beyond the beds, but that's fine since we were just in the room to sleep. One block from a Duane Reed for food or toiletries that you may have forgotten.
Breakfast consisted of pastries and fruit, though having fruit like bananas and oranges available is great, but it isn't going to be terribly substantial. The sink drained slowly, but didn't back up too much with regular use. Would be nice if the lobby provided some water at all times (only saw that this was available during breakfast hours).

Breakfast was a very basic continental breakfast. However, coffee tasted surprisingly well. Croissants and pastries were warmed up at times, but not always. it's a "grab and go" type of breakfast, a nice "early breakfast" to grab and head to the City. Although very basic, it did fill us up well till lunchtime.
Unfortunately there were no plates on most days, so everyone was eating on napkins. But, I guess, for a hotel in such a nice area of the city, you cannot expect more from breakfast that's "included," so it's okay. Also, coffee/tea supplies in the room weren't always stocked right. Something was always missing: wooden sticks, coffee cup lids, etc.
