Great location! Hotel based restaurants are very good, one is more expensive (sushi) and other one cheaper (american food).

Room size is not sustainable if you want to/have to spend more time in the room.

Coming in to Times Square area alone at night, and then getting off the elevator to a basically black hallway with red accents made me question whether I accidentally booked in a brothel.

Great location. very central Times Square 5min away and subway. Hotel staff very helpful . Rooms and hotel was very clean. Beautiful rooftop bar. Can be very busy so book early. Also there a lovely bar next door for a quiet drink well worth a visit .

Rooms are a bit small . Bit overpriced. But that’s New York

This hotel is the perfect location for tourists. Everything is in walking distance but not so close that you hear all the noise and the street gets super crowded. There are also doormen that will open the door and carry in your luggage for you. They're very nice and attentive but kinda weird how they ask, "are you headed back to your room?" when you walk in just to say, "welcome back" after lol. But maybe that's just me!

The ambiance is dark and moody which some people might like, especially if you're there for a romantic getaway. I was there for work so, not so much needed on my part. My room did have a lovely view of a brick wall which made the room even darker but again, not a deal breaker. These things are to be expected in NYC, not every room has a view of the skyline.

Amazing hotel in central location Review of Sanctuary Hotel New York Reviewed 1 week ago Just arrived and lovely welcome from Miguel who took the trouble to show us around. Good size room for central Manhattan, with lots of extras like dressing gowns and good quality slippers. Quiet room, looking forward to the included breakfast. on our departure- The room was a good size for central New York, I had paid extra for a larger bed. Throughout our stay the room was serviced to a high standard with a plentiful supply of toiletries and big white towels. The room was very quiet even though we were next to the lift and the sushi bar entrance. The breakfast was buffet style and will suit everybody. Cereals and juice, yoghurt and fresh fruit, a choice of baigels and bread for toast. Hard boiled eggs and little lots of avocado. A choice of cereal bars and pastries. Quite a feast! Every single member of staff seemed to take a pride in their job and were helpful and friendly. Sanctuary is an appropriate name as it provided an oasis of calm in a vibrant city.

Air con noisy

Absolutely fantastic staff. They are very attentive and courteous. All of them. They wish you the moment you enter but not like the upmarket NY hotels where the motive is to get tipped. Checkin and checkout are a breeze. Super quick. The location is awesome. A minute to Times Square.

Like almost every NY hotel the breakfast is sad. Wonder whether New Yorkers generally hate that meal ? They need to add just a simple scrambled egg and sausages to spruce it up. For a long stay this becomes a dampener expecially when the charges are compulsorily added. I wish I could send these guys to Holiday Inn Kensington London to show them what breakfast means and send those guys here for staff training ! Paid similiar amounts at both hotels.

Hotel is very smart and comfortable and right next to Times Square. It has a rooftop bar that is good for food and drinks. Rooms are comfortable and cleaned daily which is great. Breakfast is a buffet style with the very basic cerials, bagels and breads etc. It is a very smart hotel with only a few minor things i found.

Wifi is crap and you constantly have to log back in as it cuts out continously and is not stable at all. You leave your phone or PC for a minuite and it logs you out. For a 4 star hotel i was suprised at all the cutlery, plates and cups being disposable plastic, i thought we were meant to be cutting back on waste, but its a bit cheap and tacky in this smart hotel. In the King room there is nowhere to hang more than one bath towel, no hooks or place to put them. A kettle in the rooms would be nice with tea/coffee items. Plus how about a bottle of water next to the bed.

Location was central Times Square, Amazing facilities, excellent staff, room was a little small but manageable, breakfast was filling but for a continental breakfast, it had too many carbs not enough fruit or ham and cheese

the fact that there was not a permanent ramp outside for my wheelchair, it was advertised as an accessible hotel and the staff made sure that a ramp was put out each time they saw me, but i then had to wait for it to be set up and on return to the hotel, my husband had to go in and get someone to put the ramp up. This would be no good for a lone traveler with wheelchair

The staff at Sanctuary Hotel were absolutely amazing. We stayed 4 nights and all the staff from Jimmy, Eddie, Douglas et al could not have been more helpful. We were on the 9th floor and although there is a rooftop bar/restaurant above us, at no time were we ever disturbed by noise. Shower was superb and be extremely comfortable. Location was around the corner from Time Square. Some reviews claim breakfast was poor as it was continental rather than full cooked. My wife and I found the breakfast to be very high quality and filled us up for our start to the day. Unlimited free coffee is able in reception as well.

There is nothing that we didn't like.
