The Muse New York

Very solid location and the staff was incredibly kind and helpful. We went in December and they have cool Xmas decorations, hot chocolate bar, and jazz in the lobby. However, they have a giant bar, but no bartender. They have no snack bar or way to even purchase water on site. They have no alcohol options on site. TLDR: Room, location, and staff were great, but seriously bizarre lack of amenities for the price point (even for NYC).

There was no bar or way to purchase beverages at the hotel. That's wild to me, because they had a bar and front desk was 24 hrs. Lots of options close by, but if you're travelling with a child and looking for a spot where you can run down to the lobby bar to grab a drink or a bite, this might not be for you.

We had booked two rooms because it was four persons. We were very happy that the rooms were close together and it was available when we reached the hotel around 8 am. The beds were very comfortable and the toilet and bathrooms was excellent.

The hotel lobby was being renovated and as such there was no bar or restaurant available although on check out we learned that it should be reopened soon. However there was a few restaurants right outside the hotel which were excellent for food and drink.

We have visited New York for years and have never had a hotel with such a marvelous location…just 1 block to the Times Square/Theatre area…1 1/2 blocks to the Diamond/Gold District…and walking distance to so many NYC attractions. Within 1/2 block of The Muse there are Mexican, Cuban, Asian and, our favorite, “Prime Catch” that has great Steaks and Italian food, plus Bar Specials all day. Will return here again and again! Forgot to say that the staff was unbelievably helpful.

The hotel had been remodeled, but there were a few areas that needed a little touch-up…a little loose wall paper by the shower, etc. Obviously, I am being picky. The lack of a restaurant was not a problem for us, because of the great selection near by.

The location is great. The room was clean and larger than most hotel rooms in NY with same price. The bad was very comfortable.

The only problem with the room was the AC which seemed to not be working so it was a little cold especially when it's-13C outside.

the bathroom there are handles and wooden seat over the bathtub from safety it’s really safe. the room is spacious enough space to put 2 big and 3 small luggage

there is no coffee maker/electric boil water in the room

Corridors smelt nice and rooms were clean Good Aveda shower and care products.

They should have bottled water available

The location was excellent (less than 100 meters from Times Square), the rooms were spacious, modern, and very clean, and the amenities were superb. For the price, it was a much, much better experience than the nearby Marriott Marquis, which we also stayed in on the trip. The staff was very gracious and kind. As with all Kimpton hotels, they offered free red and white wine to all guests from 5-6 pm Thursday through Sunday evenings.

Parking, as anywhere in NYC, is a bit expensive.

Good size room and bathroom in comparison to other places I have stayed for a similar price. Excellent location. nice to have coffee/tea available on main floor and to be able to get a water boiler for hot tea in my room.

Some work going on outside with scaffolding, however, not a real problem.

The rooms were very nice. We were able to upgrade to a King Suite and it was wonderful to have that extra space. For NYC, we felt the room was large. In the suite we had a refrigerator which was nice. The lobby area was very nice. Even though they are undergoing renovations, it did not take away from the beauty of the space. Location is phenomenal and the staff was wonderful. We appreciate the rooms being serviced each day. It was the perfect location right by Times Square but yet felt quiet and safe. Breakfast is not available on site but there are literally restaurants everywhere. We picked up bagels from a shop almost next door to the Muse.

There was a $100 security deposit per night per room. Since we had 4 rooms, that added up quickly. It was not a problem but wish we would have known that ahead of time.

Hotel was great (except for the fact the bar was closed!). Our room was huge for city stds. Great service

The fact that Booking.com charged almost $100 more than a competitor and stopped responding to my emails after I provided the proof they required. Why have a price match guarantee if they don’t honor it?
