Boxwood Lodge Blowing Rock near Boone-University

Nice clean town. Easy walking distance to a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, etc. A supermarket is about a mile away. The room (115) was quiet and had a full kitchen with enough cookware, dishes and silverware for most needs. This room had we wanted—more than the usual hotel room—more like an Airbnb. The fold-down sofa is kid-sized (short). There is a gas log fireplace which does a good job of warming the front room. The washer/dryer was appreciated during our week long stay. Parking is right in front of the door.

After 6 nights you notice things. I like to make bread so I’d add a mixing bowl to the kitchen utensils (I used a pot). The ironing board needs to be replaced. The front door should be updated with a new weather seal.

there was nothing extravagant about the place which was not what the wife and I wanted. it was perfect location. the room was very clean and cozy. definitely am going to stay again. hospitality was awsome. we left the dvd player on all night in the truck it killed the battery. the manager drove from another location to give us a jump. Definitely will stay again

the back window view was a cinder block wall. not abig deal at all. by no means is it a deal breaker

The hotel was quiet and peaceful. Our king suite felt very private and was clean. Very spacious room and bathroom! The location was perfect to downtown and a great breakfast place right on the corner! The staff was friendly and very accommodating, especially our first night there was a problem with main water and they quickly helped get us a temporary new room until the issue was fixed.

Quaint little lodge on the edge of downtown. Walking distance to everything. Perfect location. Dog FRIENDLY! Bed was very comfortable, staff was very friendly and accommodating, King suite was spacious. Bathroom could have used a little more attention, as far as cleaning, but not a deal breaker. Would stay again!

Bathroom toilet could have been cleaned a little better. Nothing a couple sprays of bleach couldn't remedy.

Room #306 was a great location. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the porch when it was raining too hard to do anything else watching the birds and enjoying the flowers. Unfortunately there was only coffee for 2 cups and no soap of any kind. I called the provided # and asked for supplies and was told they would be delivered shortly. Two days later we still had not received anything. That is inexcusable. When the receipt for the booking tells you what is supplied it all should be supplied.

Deliver needed supplies when you say they will be delivered.

Location is great, walking distance to anything and everything downtown Blowing Rock has to offer. Room was very clean, which is great when it is a pet friendly lodge.

Only 2 things that we weren't happy with. The TV we could not get the Roku to work. Also the shower drain was extremely backed up, so wasn't pleasant standing in water while showering.

We stayed in the two bedroom suite, we had 6people and a dog...it was quite comfortable and fit us all. Room was clean! All beds very comfortable. Plenty of rocking chairs in the porch for everyone and there is so much around the area, just a walk away. The shower had awesome pressure and got super hot! Felt good on the cold days!

The mini fridge does not have a freezer compartment. It was hard to get someone at the front desk early in the morning, we needed toilet paper, had to call the main reservation line to try and get someone, they said they would relay the message, took about an hour to get some toilet paper...not good with a family of 6 first thing in the morning. Other than that, our stay was perfect.

The location was absolutely perfect and the King Suite was surprisingly spacious with the most comfortable bed. The his and hers bathroom set up was great, definitely not a room you’d feel cramped in. The room was exceptionally clean and check in/out were both very smooth.

The room itself was fantastic with only one downfall, the plumbing. The shower would make a horrendous noise and randomly turn off after only a few minutes of being on. Sadly was not resolved after I called. The tub was a bit small and not what I was expecting.

Location was great. The Famous Toastery was less than a thousand feet from where we stayed and had a great breakfast. The lodge is located within walking distance to the historic downtown Blowing Rock. The room was very clean and the staff were very prompt in replying to requests for more towels, etc.

There was a big delay in getting checked in and getting keys to our room as there was no one in the office and the room was still being cleaned. It was 6 pm before we got keys. Staff did call us around 11:30 am to say we wouldn't be able to check in until around 5 pm and paperwork and keys would be in a drop box by office door. We appreciated the call. The additional hour delay was frustrating but in these times with COVID-19 delays because of thorough cleaning of the rooms is understandable and acceptable.

The location was perfect! It was within walking distance to downtown. The cabin was very cozy. The bed was amazingly comfortable and the entire place was spotless! I will definitely stay again!

If I had to say one thing negative about this place, it would be that there isn’t a bathroom upstairs. It was an adventure going down the stairs in the middle of the night. 😂
