Holiday Inn Express Blowing Rock South, an IHG Hotel

The size of the room for two people was nice and more roomy than a different named hotel we stayed at in Asheville. The beds at Holiday Inn were comfy and both of us slept well. The vanity area in the bathroom was large and very well lighted. The only suggestion I will make, is the commode could be higher for older people, but all in all, we thought it was a very nice room, quiet and clean and the staff were all so friendly....Southern Hospitality for sure!! The Continental breakfast was wonderful! Hot tasty eggs, sausages and bacon...fruit, juices, bagels, pastries, great coffee too! We even took a cup for the road. We enjoyed our stay.

A higher commode would have been appreciated.

The Staff were so polite, friendly nd very helpful. the staff member went above and beyond to get my friend and I rooms together. the hotel was very clean, neat and well decorated. Such a great place.

It would have been nice to have the hot breakfast but it was out of order. Also e felt rushed to get evertyhing done in the morning by 8:30 because water was being turned off.

Breakfast meal. Very friendly staff and management. Rooms well furnished with necessities. Great location , close to Blowing Rock, Tweetsie Railroad, resturants, bars and Boone, NC.

Toilets have no or little force to flush, not enough toilet paper- only one roll and no bar soap for shower. The ice machines are not good-very small ice melts before you get to room, and parking lot is terrible with bumps and potholes.

The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We prefer the white bedding that can be bleached as we feel it tends to be cleaner. Would definitely stay again! We felt safe and had no concerns.

The only downfall, which isn’t the fault of the facility, is that even in July, the nighttime temps were in the 50s. Since the pool is outside and not heated, we were unable to enjoy a swim in the evening.

The room was clean and recently remodeled. Bed comfortable. However, trash was overflowing in the lobby upon of arrival. Upon departure we realized we had left hanging clothes in our room. My husband called that evening only a few hours after checkout. Lady on the phone confirmed having them and took our credit card to promptly mail them out. That was Sunday, October 3rd and we live in Charlotte. We have called no less than 15 times since then and while everyone is pleasant no one can account for our lost items, provide tracking information, etc. Service after the sale and attention to detail for guests is a must. Should we have remembered our clothes yes, but having no response after countless calls to the manager who we understand is new is unacceptable. If we hear a response we will be happy to update our review.

Followup after our departure. Lost items that the front desk assured they had but have not been able to provide tracking or an update. We left our CC with an employee that is no longer there per our conversations with other members of the front desk. Surely someone has a way to follow up with this former teammate.

The room was really spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Our boys enjoyed the pool and the breakfast was great in the morning. It was also close to some yummy restaurants and close to some great hiking and the blue park ridgeway drive which was absolutely stunning.

It could have been a little bit better value for money - but we really enjoyed our stay!

The breakfast was great! Staff was very friendly. Staff were helpful (except for not helping us to get room w king bed) Love the fitness room! Love the 24 hour coffee!

Wasn't told there was no daily housekeeping/towels. Didn't get a room w king bed as requested.

Everything was great! Clean, friendly, great location, however, there is no indoor pool as indicated, and there was supposed to be a jetted bathtub in the room. When I asked the worker ( who was very nice) she said the website is wrong, and it needs to be updated. Other than the disappointment of not having those 2 things, it was a great stay.

The location of the hotel was good because I was in town for a job interview. The staff was very friendly and helpful especially house keeping they do a excellent job making sure the guest are taking care of

I would have to say the rate of the room was too high for only one person.

There was coffee in the room, a fridge and a desk as well as a couple of chairs. The beds were a nice size but not the most comfortable we have ever slept on in a hotel. The proximity to a number of good restaurants was close. The breakfast was above average. The entire place was very clean and the employees were efficient. We felt safe.

The vanity in the bathroom was very small. There was little space to hang anything up in the bathroom. Lamp on desk and over the bed gave out little light.
