We liked everything about our one night stay at Hollyhock (except the weather which was quite miserable unfortunately). The room was a good size, well maintained, and lovely and cosy, with both ducted heating controlled from the main house and an independent R/C AC, as well as heat lamps in the bathroom!! The views of the garden were really nice from the enclosed verandah, which also let in plenty of light despite the gloomy day outside. There was a DVD player as well as Netflix and guest Wifi available for use. Chris was a lovely host, she welcomed us on check in, cooked us up an amazing breakfast the following morning, and caught up with us before we headed off to make sure our stay had been enjoyable.

Very comfy bed, and the bath was the best! Full cooked breakfast included in the tariff was exceptional - loved having this at the little dining table in our room! Beautiful quiet location out-of-town, with pretty garden views out of all the big windows. Owner on site and very helpful.

Hubby a bit sad re no WiFi, haha. Also fun finding the place in the dark.

Wonderful stay and loved every moment of it. Chris the host was lovely and welcoming, and did amazing breakfast. Loved the king suite with the spa! Short drive to Mount Macedon. Absolutely beautiful and feels very country like only 1 hour from Melbourne.

My only minor complaint would be there are no streetlights at night when you're walking locally but thankfully the location is awesome and only 5 minutes walk from amenities and a local restaurant.

Chris was a friendly but not intrusive host and provided a delicious and generous breakfast . Our room was well appointed and had spots to relax and unwind overlooking the beautiful garden . A very comfortable bed and quiet location meant we slept soundly and woke refreshed . Yet it was close , walking distance, to the main street cafes and restaurant and allowed us to do walks from the house . A short drive to Mt Macedon for some more lovely bushwalks and cafes.

This weekend booking was a birthday treat for my brother and his wife, for my brother's birthday. They both had been working really hard & were stressed and exhausted - my brother regularly not sleeping well. They returned from their overnight stay at Hollyhock absolutely *glowing*, happy, and truly emanating *relaxation* from every pore! I haven't seen my brother so totally relaxed in ... since COVID began, really. (And he had slept exceptionally well, my sister-in-law smilingly told me.) They *loved* the wonderful breakfast provided and the light, airy, windowed "nook" in which they relaxedly partook of it, looking out onto the beautiful garden grounds. They will definitely come back - and we will come to Hollyhock too!

Our room was spacious, bed was very comfortable. Enjoyed on the comfortable window seats looking out to the garden. Room well equipped.

Parking was a little difficult and the 8 steps up to the verandah have the potential to be difficult when wet.

The outlook was superb. The host was very friendly and personable. Everything was pritine clean and presented well. The breakfast was very generous. Altogether, it is a lovely peaceful place with everything one needs and more.

Hollyhock is a beautiful granny flat - like apartment in a quiet street in Macedon. Chris is your perfect host who does not want you to do any work "because you are on holiday"!! Very nice room, spacious bathroom and surrounded by beautiful garden. Great breakfast. Close to Mt Macedon.

Except the very cold and wet weather, nothing really.

The room has everything you need for a short stay and the breakfast provided was very filling. The location was quiet with lovely views of the garden. The host was very welcoming. We would stay there again.

We loved this bed and breakfast apartment - so comfortable - the beds were amazing and had a lovely outlook and privacy. Amazing value with the lovely breakfast included.

Not a didn’t like but the location is close to other houses but still very green and private.
