Everything, one of the best hotel/B&B experiences we ever had (and we stayed in very nice 5 star resorts as well!). Annie and Brian are incredible hosts, it does feel as you’re staying over with family. The B&B is in a great position, a 6-7 minute walk from Canmore town centre. The living room is amazing, and the rooms (we tried 2 out of 3) are spacious, clean and have everything you need. Every day you are greeted with an excellent cup of coffee/cappuccino/latte and a freshly made breakfast (every day is different, our favourite were the egg Benedict’s and the waffle with cinnamon apple). Canmore is a lovely little town, much quieter than Banff and a great base to explore the area. Ambleside Lodge is THE place to be in Canmore!

Great hosts,fantastic location,wonderful breakfast which was different each day, walking distance to the town for drinks and food in the evening ,plenty of walking near by and take a day trip to Lake Louise which is outstanding and a must do. The Sensory restaurant in Canmore would make my top 10 of restaurants anywhere.

Its a 9 rather than a 10 because the room was a little on the smaller side compared to others that we stayed in around B/C and Alberta on a 26 night trip.

Great location, only a 10 minute walk from the centre of Canmore and right by the Bow River with beautiful views. Very cosy sitting area open to guests with access to fresh water, tea and coffee at any time of day or night. The Wilderness Room was very comfortable and clean. Guests are made to feel very welcome by Annie and Bryan! The breakfasts were AMAZING - allergies and dietary restrictions were thoughtfully catered for. We will definitely be back here to stay!

The hosts are AMAZING! The breakfasts, delicious. The home is cozy and welcoming. The beds and pillows were super comfy. The location is perfect – situated just outside Banff NP, away from the tourist crush but close enough to not endure a long commute every day. Tons of great food and activities right in Canmore means you don’t even have to leave town.

The bathroom in the Hudsons Bay room has open walls at the top and a sliding door, which doesn’t offer complete privacy.

The owners were very hospitable. The breakfast was amazing, it’s like one of the expensive breakfast in Banff. The place is very comfortable, clean and aesthetic. The amenities were surprising cos there’s a lot of stuffs that they offer. I saw on the website that they’re always fully booked so my boyfriend and I were lucky to book last minute, the same day. Owners told us that guests from UK cancelled and after an hour of releasing the room, I happen to booked it.

Pros: - The Breakfast was delicious - Common area was relaxing - Location was very good for being near walking paths and the downtown area. - Free parking - Atmosphere with music and decorations made it feel like a get away. - Hosts were very accomodating and let us change rooms to one that suited us better - small touches around the house made a difference eg: coffee and tea makers, filled water bottles, wireless charging pads. -Lots of tourist information for guests

Cons: - A little overpriced - the room that we were in was not noiseproof - Takes a while for shower water to warm

Location, close to town center, very good breakfasts and lovely couple as hosts. Bed comfortable and no issue with bathroom down the hall.

First night, room was hot/stuffy despite three fans working all night, and roof window open full Property lacks air conditioning, and heat wave made room very uncomfortable. Next night, room was ok, as wether cooled, they added a small cooler to try and help. Only negative.

Excellent location really easy to get to anything in the city. The Ambleside is a beautiful home with gorgeous rooms. The hosts were super friendly, flexible and genuinely wanted you to have an amazing stay. The breakfasts were fabulous. The hosts also have an excellent knowledge of the area and are willing to offer suggestions for shopping, dinner, hiking, cycling and mountain biking.

Ambleside Lodge is nothing short of exceptional. The place is clean, well decorated, has all amenities you might need during your stay, and is perfectly located to visit Canmore and the area all around. We had to leave very early in the morning on our check-out day and our hosts were kind enough to prepare a “on-the-go-breakfast” (which was delicious!) for us. We would definitely go back to stay at this lodge.

Amazing breakfasts and super friendly hosts. Very accommodating to allergies and dietary restrictions. Exceptionally clean (especially for a B&B). It was very cozy with cool interior design elements.

Each room had its own bathroom, but we were in the Mountain Room, which did not have an ensuite. In the night we'd have to walk by the doors of the other visitors in our PJ's or the house coats provided to use the bathroom - not ideal! Nice place but pretty expensive considering you don't get an attached bathroom.
