I loved how there was front doormen to open the doors and help with luggage. Also, that there is a covered round-about for drop off and pickups for the cars/taxi. Front staff very friendly and knowledgeable. The location is perfect for all the downtown amenities!

The checkout process is old fashioned, had to wait in line to hand in the room key and get a receipt. The mattresses themselves were pretty worn out, they had indents from all the sleeping/using them on each side. The pool itself was very busy, but nice with the solarium roof and the hot tub was a nice large size. However, the change rooms, I did not find, only a small bathroom to use to change. The signage definitely needs to be updated for this, and more precise. I saw many people walking through the entire pool area to get to the changerooms (which i still did not see).

After checking out I found that $200 had been retained by the hotel for incidentals, even though there were no charges for incidentals. Apparently this will be refunded within a couple of weeks but why should the hotel charge for something not used?

It’s central location. Nice appearance. Clean & comfortable beds.

we had an interconnecting room which was not sound proofed well. On Christmas Eve our neighbors had a party, loud music and voices. they went out & returned around 3am drunk, yelling, throwing things around the room, sounded like he was abusing his wife. we rang reception and reported what was happening. we were not aware of any action being taken. at 4:30am I got dressed & went to reception and requested a room change, which was happily granted. I was reassured security had visited the floor but all was quiet at the time. I agree it went in waves of abuse & noise, but I think the security should have knocked on the door to check the lady was safe & ok and asked them to be quiet.

I booked the Sutton Palace Hotel for my first trip to Vancouver not really knowing much about it's location just looked like a nice hotel and good price. It totally exceeded my expectation - literally couldn't have had a better location for downtown Vancouver and 10 mins away from Kitsilano. The hotel was beautiful old school and the staff exceptional. Room service was always on time and I the spa was fabulous - I will be returning on my next trip Thank you to all the staff for making it such a great stay.

Hotel was beautiful, clean and smelled great. The staff was very nice.

Overall, it was a great stay. Staff was friendly and nice. We would definitely stay here again, but a few comments/areas for improvement: - Swimming pool - very minimal chairs and the outside sun area could be made much nicer with a little effort. Access to the pool was also awkward with guests having to cross through the main lobby area in bathing suits to get to and from the pool. - Gym - Well equipped, however wish it had AC running since it was so hot during our stay. - Sitting area on first floor - could use more seating.

We really liked the location of the hotel and the size of the room was decent. The staff were very friendly, and the hotel was easy to navigate. We also appreciated the little cafe on site with essentials as the last Vancouver hotel we stayed at had nothing like that to grab a snack or bottle of water from when needed.

The only downside to the room was the angle of everything. The TV was on the side wall so you had to turn to watch, and when there are two people in the bed...one is not getting a good view. That same person also has a small space between the bed and wall to move back and forth between as the bed was on an angle that blocked off the other side.

The room was clean and cozy. Well decorated with a very nice view (we were staying at the 19th floor). The hotel is located at a very nice area where you can find all sort of things nearby. Restaurants, drug stores, shopping mall, even expensive shop brands. The area seems safe, unlike other areas we accidentally been to...

Everything was fine except 2 things: 1. There was a buzzing sound coming from the air-condition that was annoying when trying to sleep (due to jet lag) 2. The hotel held $200 from my credit card for incidentals and couldn't hold cash (I even offered 350 euro). I had a prepaid card with a specific amount of CAD available and holding $200 out of it was a big problem...

Great room and location.

It was clear the shower had not been cleaned as there was a used shower cap shoved into the soap dish and long black hairs on the shower wall. Gross! When I complained to the front desk they apologised for the inconvenience and said they would make sure the room was cleaned in the future. I was somehow left with the impression that sorry for the inconvenience is their answer to everything as opposed to acknowledging how I felt, which was disgusted and very let down by what it supposed to be 5 star hotel.

This hotel is very close to the venue we went to (Commodore Ballroom). It is a more upscale hotel but still very welcoming and comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We were happy to have a bar fridge in our room, but it took a while to get it cold. it was plugged in, but the extension cord it was plugged to did not work. We unplugged a lamp and plugged it directly into the wall, and then it worked. We slept well on comfy beds, only disturbed by sirens occasionally- typical of downtown. It was easy to check out with the QR code.

Parking was $50, bandits. We were on the 20th floor; someone above us was repeatedly drilling or pounding starting about 9 am. We had wanted to spend a quiet morning reading and this noise was unpleasant. It may have been another guest (worlds loudest vibrator???), but it sounded more like hotel work. For the price we paid, they should start working later.

Position of hotel was good for accessing shops, restaurants and easily walkable to most places in the city. Great view from upper floor room. Comfortable, clean room and very helpful staff.

Not very soundproof, kept thinking windows were open and could hear people's conversations out in corridor. We are British and like our tea, only had cardboard cups as proper cups were small ones for the Nespresso and there were only 2 normal teabags. Couldn't put anything in the fridge as it was the mini bar and messes up the weight balance. Obviously you can request extras but we were only there for 24 hours so didn't bother.
