Holiday Inn Express Kingston Central, an IHG Hotel

We arrived at the hotel 30 minutes before check in and they readily checked us in. Staff were courteous and pleasant. Needed 2 rooms so we got adjoining rooms. Rooms were clean. Linens were fresh and clean without the smell of detergent or bleach. The linens were soft. Enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi. Best part was the free breakfast. Healthy choices of food selections. It was very nice that you can actually take out food if you didn't want to sit down for meal. Location was great. Access to stores and restaurants and everything a family could ask for. Family friendly. Will surely stay at any Holiday Inn Express in our future travels. 🙌

The antimicrobial soap containers at the entrance, by the elevators, and the pool entrance were empty throughout our stay. Please ensure that these are always full.

Large, clean rooms. Well sound proofed, no disturbances. Lovely pool and jacuzzi, we swam at 7am and had the place to ourselves. Liked the fridge and microwave facilities in the room. Good location with amenities very close.

I would personally have liked a designated smoking area outside. I stood on the sidewalk, but late at night it didn't feel that safe. There was a shortage of towels in the pool area and we were not sure if we were supposed to use our room towels, I do not like to do that.

The room was very clean and comfortable. We went down for breakfast and it was a great start to our day. The breakfast had a wide variety of items for everyone. The location of the hotel is fantastic and you could easily get around.

The Wi-Fi was okay during the day but at night time (when everyone was using it) it slowed down considerably. We had difficulty with accessing emails, internet etc. This cleared up after 12 midnight so I suspect it is a user load issue.

The stay was comfortable, staff very friendly. Breakfast was also good.

Breakfast area gets very crowded. Could have started a bit earlier if possible. I would like to suggest the hotel incorporates more environmentally friendly measures such as replacing styrofoam cups with paper ones. The trash bags are all the same for recycle or trash or compost- would be nice to be separated for better waste management. Other than that, great hotel and amazing staff!

Front desk staff and all but 1 employee were wonderful. Room was clean, bed comfortable and wi-fi worked well.

The older caucasian woman in the breakfast serving area needs some etiquette lessons. Our travel companions were gifted with her delightful personality on Saturday morning. They mentioned that she was rude to the people ahead of them when they requested a larger portion. We were displeased to meet her acquaintance on Sunday morning to experience the same attitude when we requested 2 sausages for each of us. Her response, "you want another one?" How embarrassing this was to me. My husband didn't care and was about to let her have it. Don't know if she is instructed to ration food or she does this herself but either way looks bad on the hotel.

the room was comfortable and clean, the breakfast was hot and the staff was friendly. the pool temperature was warm and the hot tub was hot.

the sofa bed was not very comfortable and there was no sheets for the sofa bed in the room. there was no bacon for breakfast. having to pay for parking- it’s only $6 but just add it to the overall stay and no one is the wiser and believes it is free parking.

Staff were very pleasant & accommodating. Grab & go breakfast was good although egg with English muffins for 2 days in a row not quite as enjoyable on 2nd day. However, with the restrictions, we were glad to have it. And there were the options of oatmeal & waffles, which our grandchildren enjoyed. Pool was great & kids had a great time having it all to themselves.

Enjoyed having clean, comfortable room for our 2 days although we were not aware initially there would be no housekeeping til after we were checked out. We found out later on there was a note in the room we hadn't read. Would have appreciated having that handed to us at check in. However, staff were very quick to act & get us clean towels. (I had put the used ones from first night in bottom of tub expecting them to be picked up next day). We did miss not having the pool the first night as we didn't realize initially we had to book the times.

Considering it was a complementary breakfast it was very good. I had been told by a friend if I explained we were traveling because of a medical appointment there would be a reduced rate, which there was. Also the parking fee was deducted from our bill. This was greatly appreciated.

Breakfast is very good, lots of choices. Good location, quiet, new updated room and close to outlet. Hotel had microwave, fridge and keurig although we didn’t use them, cos we’re only there for a night. Reception staff was very helpful.

Price is high, towels are not machine dried properly, lots of fibers when wipe dry our face/body. Bathtub is not cleaned properly, still some stains.

I called down to see what time the pool was open until. The person nicely told me when. So little while later we go down to the pool only to find we had to book a time slot. Not sure why the person on the phone never mentioned it. We understand why it was being done that way but would have been nice to know so we didn't have to wait so long.. Also the TV was great but the reception was very bad.
