The location of the Inn was great. One could walk to many places in the city and also down to the water front. The lounge areas were very comfortable and also sitting outside in the gardens was very pleasant. The room was clean and the breakfast was adequate, lots of choices. We were there because it was my spouse's birthday and there was a happy birthday note and also some sweets on our arrival, that was a special touch. The staff was very friendly.

The room I chose was quite small and the location in the cottage would not be my first choice. When I booked our stay, my paperwork said hot breakfast. We did not qualify for a hot breakfast because I did not have that paperwork with me. The desk was not able to pull up my agreement so we had the regular breakfast.

The property is gorgeous, like much of Kingston is. Lovely garden to lounge in with coffee and a book. Austin the concierge was phenomenal. A joy to interact with. His energy and positive attitude was so welcome I had forgotten what this level of service felt like. The continental breakfast was already great with fresh baked pastry, but the optional upgrade was affordable at $8 per guest, and was quite lovely.

Be cognizant that as it's over 100 years old you WILL hear everything from everyone. We sadly had an early riser staying above us who felt the need to clomp like a Clydesdale at 630am... this isn't the hotel's fault at all, but the only real issue we had during our stay.

What most stands out about this wonderful Inn is its staff and the lengths that they go to ensure their guests comfort and happiness. They were all polite, professional, and very understanding. The Inn, while under renovations when I arrived, is a beautiful historical building which has its own unique charm. Overall the breakfasts were quite good. Given that the dining and the sitting room were under renovations, the staff provided the guests with hand delivered breakfasts, so it was possible to relax in the room. This was my second visit to the Inn, and I look forward to a future return.

Unfortunately, the rooms in the carriage section are in need of repair, but given that new owners have taken it over, not everything can be done immediately. Some of the furniture is a bit wobbly, and my room, while quite lovely, is in need of a paint job and some work done on the radiator. If you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs as sound travels very easily between connecting rooms. Again, this is an historic building, so it has its quirks.

Love the location easy access and the staff were polite although our 2nd day breakfast was late and the hot cakes was already cold the 2nd day lady did not know our exact room but she apologized so it’s ok.

I don’t like when we go to the lobby to get our coffee/juice because of the renovations and my request before we arrive to have a birthday card in the room for my partner’s birthday was not in our room when we arrived. I was disappointed about that because I sent message to the property before we arrived and they confirmed to have a birthday card in the room for free of charge. Even they ask me to pay for it of course I will pay but there was no anything welcoming my partner who celebrate his bday in town.

Gorgeous historic Inn, great location. Lovely rooms with fabulously comfortable beds, delicious hot breakfast for a nominal fee (and continental breakfast available for free…we just wanted something hot). my daughter said the chocolate pancakes were the best she has ever had. Very friendly and helpful staff.

This is such a small thing. but the blinds in our otherwise beautiful room were cracked and broken, and it felt like there should also have been curtains. For a place that is so gorgeous, this seemed out of place…

This gorgeous old building is like something out of a fairy tale, and the rooms and interior are warm and inviting. It's lovely to see how well preserved the building is, and that so many of the original features have been left for a truly authentic feel with modern comfort. Staff were all kind and helpful. The location is very quiet but walking distance to the centre and waterfront. Good beds and linens, strong wifi.

Nothing to complain about except wishing breakfast started at 7am instead of 7:30 - we had an event early in the morning so unfortunately we missed out on what looked like a great breakfast. Also we seem to have arrived during a busy weekend in Kingston as the rates were quite high.

Incredible location! Walking distance to downtown, parks and beaches along the St. Lawrence, and Queens University. The Inn itself was beautiful and very peaceful - we loved the garden patio. The continental breakfast provided was delicious - fresh bagels, croissants, charcuterie, yogurt parfaits, cheeses and pastries! The staff was incredible and so friendly. We loved our stay.

The bathroom/ shower could stand to be updated.

The location of this facility is the biggest plus factor. Once there, everything we want is within walking distance and the parks and trails are great. Close to good restaurants and downtown shopping, waterfront, etc. The breakfasts are tasty and they offer some nice additional touches like croissants and coffee available outside of breakfast hours. Staff are always friendly and helpful.

Our one complaint is that there was no seating in the room. We booked the deluxe Queen room hoping there would be at least one if not two chairs to sit in for watching TV or reading. There was a desk with one straight back hard wooden chair but no where to sit except the bed. Cut the desk size in half and offer a couple of wingbacked chairs and it would make all the difference in the world. To be fair, you are not alone in this. Many North American hotel rooms miss the mark on this. We had hoped by upgrading from our last stay here it might have been different. Hope you can see your way to set yourself above the crowd :). We will come again.

Stunning garden, landscaping, architecture and decor. Perfect cool temperature in the room, ceiling fan and AC unit kept us wonderfully comfortable. Quiet neighborhood, and building. Parking was so easy. Check in and check out was fast and easy. Located minutes away from all the best shops, restaurants and pubs. Breakfast was included during our stay, and was absolutely delicious.

We stayed in a smaller room which suited us perfectly for our short stay. The carpet in our room was due for a good cleaning, or change. and the bathtub was due for a change as well. Was overall pretty clean though. TV in the room was a bit small, but honestly wasn’t an issue for us, as we were more interested in visiting the grounds and the city. We slept great.

1) friendly and welcoming staff, 2) access to coffee/tea anytime, 3) closeness to downtown, 4) historical building

I was kind of dissapointed at breakfast as I had read many positive reviews on breakfast and saw nice photos of breakfast at the time of reservation. Although breakfast was complimentary, there was additional charge (CAD 4) for hot meals. I did not necessarily find any "amazing"ness in breakfast as previous guests had commented.
