Recently refurbished room, so in excellent condition and nice decoration. Stayed before and always enjoy going back. Reception staff we very helpful and welcoming

The shower needs a shelf for the toiletries as the only options are to hold them continuously or put them on the floor. As you get older on the floor isn't ideal. A personal observation but we think the breakfast room has lost it's atmosphere after the refurbishment. We understand it is an improvement as a restaurant but not as a breakfast room. We also don't agree with a dog being allowed to sit on a material seat/bench and continuously jumping up and putting it's feet all over the table no matter who owns the dog. We understand it was the manager/owner's dog, but we really don't agree with it.

1) Best thing was definitely the comfort of the bed and the sleep. I had a really comfortable sleep in a quiet room without even any slight disturbance. (+++ points) 2) Staff was really welcoming, polite and helpful. It was a rainy day and they borrowed me an umbrella. 3) Historical and old feeling of the building - rooms however are new and modern equipped. Overall a good and recommendable hotel with only few issues.

1) Unfortunately my room was not cleaned before my second day. I was told I had "Do not disturb" sign on, actually my sign was showing exactly the opposite. Mistakes might always happen, but this was not a pleasent one. 2) WIFI in my room on the second floor was really spotty. To me, as I was on vacation, this was not so critical. But if the purpose had been work or an online meeting, it would have simply been impossible. Watching a movie via Netflix or YouTube was also not possible for the same reason. 3) Breakfast signage can be improved. Specifically 4 types of cheese are on one big plate without explaining what type of cheese they are, and similarly different types of salami are on one big plate with no good explanation. Breakfast overall was okay but nothing very special.

We last stayed here several years ago and it was good, but since then they seem to have renovated the hotel and have made a nice job of it. Location close to the station and on the edge of the old city is ideal for those arriving by train. Check-in was efficient. We were lucky to receive an upgrade to an executive room, and it was very spacious and comfortable, with an elegant wood-paneled ceiling and chandelier. The restaurant, where breakfast is served, had also been renovated, and has a modern and airy design. As in our previous stay, the food selection and quality at breakfast is pleasing.

It's the tiniest of details, but I missed a shelf in the shower to put the shampoo/shower gel on. An odd omission given how well the bathroom is done overall!

The hotel is very nice. The staff is friendly, the rooms are modern, the beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are very nice with lovely, very deep tubs. Everything is very clean. The breakfast buffet has a lot of variety. The prices are extremely reasonable. Among the things to do, if you get a chance, is to go to the opera, which is within walking distance. The standards are very high, the production we saw, from singers to sets to choreography, were exceptional, and the price was incredibly cheap. You also get to see a remarkable cross-section of society.

We were there in February and the weather was a bit bleak and the Czech Republic generally has been suffering because of the war in Ukraine, which makes it harder to judge. The hotel is very convenient, directly across the street from the main train station and within easy walking distance of some very nice parts of Brno, but the street itself is not particularly attractive and the view is mostly of construction.

It s a great old hotel, nicely redone, I guess already a few years ago. I liked the huge space and the high ceilings of our family (executive) room. If you like old classical hotels for a reasonable price right in the center and close to all the station and bus station the great Grandhotel is a good choice for you.

Everything was fine. Just my daughter wasnt pleased at the (quite good) breakfast when her plate for the cereals was full of dust and even a hair. Perhaps the upper ones should be changed once in a while…

Very good hotel, excellent location just in the center. It is placed in the old building, renovated couple of years ago. So it is not like the other modern hotels - one can feel the spirit of history in it. Customer service very good, room was clean. Breakfast is served in nice restaurant with window view on the street.

Really nothing to complain about. Could be more soundproof - on 1st floor easily could hear some noises from the street. Price for room is acceptable, however parking cost is something you need to pay additionally (need to mention it is clearly stated during reservation).

Location was the main reason i booked as it was right next to the train station. I had an early train so wanted to have a short walk. For this it was perfect. Check in was smooth and quick and the room was spacious and bed was comfy. Bathroom was enormous.

Breakfast was fairly basic - continental style There were lots of staff but none of tables were laid. They seemed happy to let everyone help themselves to cutlery in jars and then replaced any items from the cutlery drawer. Could've been better

Excellent location, incredibly comfortable beds, beautiful rooms, lovely breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay!

Single use plastic- things still unnecessarily wrapped in plastic film, eg slippers. You don't wrap the beds in single use plastic to show they're clean, you don't need to do it for anything else. Also it would be nice if the hotel was catering for vegans a bit more- fried tofu, vegan sausages etc.- it's not that difficult!

Extremely spacious room (and bathroom). Very nice restaurant, able to provide a full menu for dinner despite my late arrival (almost 10 pm), and buffet breakfast with a good range of food. Had a 'traditional' high class hotel vibe, for a surprisingly reasonable price. I only visited for one night (work trip), but would have liked to stay longer. Extremely convenient location opposite railway station and around the corner from the old city centre.

If you arrive in Brno just like me, by Flixbus, Grandhotel Brno is an excellent choice: the busses stop just on the other side of the street. The hotel is well maintained and offers all you need regardless of whether you travel for a business trip or a holiday. However, the most important asset of Grandhotel Brno is the front office staff: competent and friendly, they are always ready and willing to help. Breakfast also is very good. Should you prefer to explore beautiful Brno, the hotel is an excellent choice: it is located just a few steps away from the pedestrian area in the Old Town, and the main sights are within several minutes walk.
