You get what you pay for - a comfortable bed for the night with clean bedding and a clean en-suite bathroom. Yes, it's basic but you go there as a stopover to get a nights sleep not to go on holiday. This hotel has also been re-furbished since I was last there so reception is a lot better (with super helpful staff too!), there are new vending machines for coffee and snacks and the security arrangements to get to the rooms have really improved. If you are working in London and staying over for the night, I would highly recommend this place - it is literally a 2 minute walk from East Croydon station and regular Thameslink trains get you to London Bridge in 15 mins and Kings Cross in 30 mins. Whilst the hotel has no restaurant or bar, there are plenty of venues within a 5 minute walk around East Croydon including the amazing Boxpark (recommended!) Overall, for a one night stay as a solo business traveller working in London, Croydon EasyHotel meets my requirements for a clean and comfortable stay. I would also recommend this hotel as a stopover for an early flight from Gatwick which is then easily accessible on direct trains from East Croydon.

I know its a basic room but a little shelf next to the beds to put phones, glasses, wallets etc on, would be to good to install in the future. The room would be sorted then!

Wasnt expecting anything fancy, after seeing some of the past reviews, but was pleasently surprised at the room I had. As a solo traveller the room was big enough. Just right for a couple of nights. I found the bed comfortable. Room and shower were clean, no smells. The shower worked well and temperature was consistent. I had no complaints. I liked that it was so close to the station and had lots of coffee shops and shops near by. I liked the fact that the doors were locked at 11 pm and only guests had access using their key card. Personally I would stay there again.

Location ideal for Victoria Station. Room a little cramped, as anticipated. As for the bed, it at first appeared that the top sheets had been forgotten. I only discovered them during the night, and pointed out to staff next morning that it would be advisable to turn down the corners in advance of the booking so guests would not be confused, as I was. They fully agreed and said management would be investigating.

The fact that the top bedsheets appeared to be missing (see above). It sounds as if this was being rectified. Another concern was the fire alarm, which went off almost as soon as I had arrived around 11pm and had already undressed. It sounded for some time and there was no message to advise whether it was intentional or not. Before it was turned off, several concerned guests had come out of their rooms to investigate.

The staff are always so welcoming and the location is really good, so close to train station and easy to get to the city. Nice and clean. I had a really good night sleep, comfy big doublebed and a big TV screen. Air con is a plus. The room is small ( but a fair size for me) and in London it’s what it’s expected for the price, so good value for money.

I think I need some kind of shelf or a bedside table, would be great

All I wanted to do was to walk into my room, clean my teeth and go to bed, so the fact the room was a the personification of minimalism was perfect. Therefore, by delivering what is essential made it the price it was. The bed was very comfortable and with an air conditioning unit to regulate the temperature it meant I slept well

The curtains were not correctly fitted on their track –but as they kept the light out it is relegated to a minor criticism

Akash on the front desk was extremely welcoming and professional. The hotel for the small price you pay is more than adequate and suitable for a one-night stay.

Noise levels coming from the plumbing. AC unit being noisy even when off and hearing guests constantly stamping about or talking in the hallway.

The rooms are very nice and clean, its very comfortable, its really near to east croydon and very good for just sleeping there. And there’s even air-conditioning.

I was missing space like a little table or something to put little things like your phone on.

Hotel was basic, but great. Especially the coffee machine in the lobby which made lovely coffee and the shower was perfect. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the female receptionist who did our late check-in on Tuesday night, who was so warm after a particularly difficult day.

Side tables or even a bedside shelf would've been helpful.

Great price for one night. Close to transport hub. Room clean, bed comfortable, wet room ideal. Water hot. Staff welcoming and helpful. Free WiFi was a bonus and I will use this hotel again for gigs at the Crystal Place bowl. For my needs this hotel scored 10/10.

This room was great for the price. Has everything you need, comfy beds, a telly , bathroom shower etc. the staff were all so friendly no problems. The train station is a 4 min walk right infront of the hotel so it was perfect for getting to Gatwick airport and central London. Highly recommend for staying here.

The only tiny thing is that you have to live out of your bag. There is no side table or dresser anywhere as the rooms are quite small. But this didn’t ruin anything about my stay.
