The lobby has a nice lounger area where you can relax, play some provided board games or get some work done. It also has a kitchen, water boiler and microwave you can use. The staff is very kind and helpful. I forgot my water bottle in the room and continued with my travels to another city, I contacted the hostel and they agreed to send it to my current location. It arrived successfully and I am very thankful for the extra time and effort they put into sending it!

I had a small issue with another guest who was staying in my same room, they took my assigned bed and refused to move, but I didn't insist or ask the staff for help because it wasn't worth the trouble and I didn't mind just taking another bed that was free in the same room.

The bathroom is very narrow, if you are a large person I think it would be a struggle!

We self-catered and had nice cool and comfy bedrooms. Sound-proofing is not great, but on the whole the other residents were fairly quiet. The staff went out of their way to address our needs and were very friendly. It is convenient for metro and city centre, and the central station is walkable if you don't want to use the metro. The street is quiet at night and during the day.

It would have been more useful to have a shared fridge in the self-catering kitchen than to have single fridges in each bedroom - we were on the 4th floor so did a lot of carting back and forth. Otherwise the set up was great.

The staff was amazing, they were very friendly, talkative, and spoke good English, suggested places to visit. The location was good, everything was nearby, subway, bus (5 min by walking), convenient store 3 min away, plenty of restaurants, shopping district was 20 min away. Common area/kitchen was small, but you can cook and eat there. But not the place to chill out or meet new people. I was staying in a 6 person dormitory room, there was a sink and shower inside the room, and the restroom was outside the room. There were lockers in the room for each person. Hostel provide towels, one big and one small. Because I was staying 4 nights, I got 2 sets without an additional fee.

The common area wasn't the place to socialize and make new friends. Bunk bed top was uncomfortable. Ladder and the way you were going to your bed and back was uncomfortable (for my height, 184cm)

Great location close to Shijo Station. During the Gion Festival there were floats and yatais all around the neighbourhood which is great is you're wanting to check it out. Rooms were clean and I liked that the curtain wrapped all around the bunk. Air conditioning on the main floor is nice and strong, and the one in the rooms can be adjusted.

The toilet rooms are pretty small, although that's a difficult thing to change. Same with the bathroom space (outside the shower). There's no counterspace but they have a basket you can put your items in. Would be great if there was a shelf!

(you not sink inside 😄) - blanket nice & soft - Bath towel & hair dryer provided / toothbrush extra charge - Room is very clean - only small or hidden space that hard to reach might be little dusty. - Shower in the room & shampoo & soap provided - Spacious in the room and between bed to keep or hang your stuff - locker with key provided but small size only small stuff. - room is new - there is huge space to keep bag before / after check in

- They allow to eat inside female dominitory (smelly & trash in the room while consuming food). It can be disture other.

Great location few minutes walk from Shijo station or about 20 to Kyoto Station, friendly staff and super clean.. What else ?

The lockers in the room are a bit noisy, during nighttime or early mornings not ideal for someone sleeping…

The property was perfect for my needs. It was in a great location, really close to a lot of the places I wanted to visit in Kyoto. The staff were very kind, and extremely helpful. The bathroom was great, it had both a shower and a bath. There is a restaurant on site in the evening. And they allowed me to leave my luggage there, after I had checked out, which was a great help. I was able to check in earlier too.
