I stayed here for one night as a lay-over, as I had a flight quite early the next morning. A taxi to/from the Manchester Airport to this hotel only cost me £10 each way, and it takes taxis less than 10 minutes to get there. On that front it is ideally located. There is a lounge/bar on the ground floor of the hotel which was very busy but with a pleasant atmosphere. I was on the top-floor of the hotel so I did not experience any noise from the bar or people outside. The staff on reception were incredibly friendly, offered me breakfast in the morning, and arranged for a taxi to be waiting outside for me when I checked-out. My room was large with 1-double bed, a TV, and bathroom with shower. The bed was very comfortable and the entire room was very well kept. Overall I was satisfied.

The only ever-so slight complaint was the wall were not thick enough to drown out people talking loudly in the corridor or room next to me, but those people were never too loud, or loud for long.

The staff were all terribly friendly in a non intrusive way. It was just right. The rooms are spacious with plenty of floor and surfaces to organise travel contents. These food complaints are minor compared to the excellent service, comfy beds, thoughtful menus and other info in the rooms, easy to use tv and other appliances, great bathrooms and exceptional cleanliness. Most of all, to repeat myself- the staff were spot on and also seemed happy with each other. That’s probably the best sign of a good workplace. Thank you.

The food was okay. The dinner could have had more evening meals less fat and carbohydrate laden. Maybe home made beans rather than canned, for example. The soup had run out by the time I requested it around 9pm but maybe have some frozen as extra? The breakfast was very good with the fruit and yogurt and the drinks and cereals and Pattie’s and toast but the scrambled eggs are pale and watery with a disconcerting texture that I found in several hotels in the UK. Would the Holiday Inn consider boiled or fried instead for the non bacon-and-sausage-eating guests who don’t want only canned baked beans as part of a hot meal?

Breakfast was good. Some staff were friendly and chatted to you. Other staff didn't smile or even say hello. Location was good. But further then we thought from the airport as on the website shows it quite close to the airport. Helpful as we checked in late and they said we could grab some snacks to eat straight away. We were starving so that was great. Shower was big and water was hot and powerful and shower gel provided was of good quality and smelt lovely.

Beds were too short and lumpy and bumby. But we were tired, so still slept a little. The room could have been a little bigger as there was a pullout sofa bed in there we were not using.

Great location for Terminal 2. Bar and restaurant on site but also able to eat at Premier Inn next door. Minimal noise between rooms. Plenty of parking (£10 per 24 hours)

Room rate was a bit on the high side as assumes full breakfast. Rate adjustment for no breakfast or grab and go would be good. Grab and go breakfast options not great. Not enough tea bags provided. Only allows for 1 cup of tea per person per day.

So we arrived about an hour before check in, however they were very happy to check us in once they had done some admin they needed to do! Everyone was lovely and friendly, and the room was lovely and spacious!

The only thing I would say is that because breakfast is included, if you have an early flight the food is on a table in the entrance - full of pastries, fruit etc. We woke up at 2am and went down because i wanted some fresh air and grabbed food, but when we left at 4:30 there was barely any pastries there, which i would have expected would be replaced as breakfast in the restaurant starts at 7am i believe.

Big rooms & bathrooms. Fantastic free breakfast with lots of options. Complimentary daily newspapers. Helpful & friendly staff. Comfortable bed. Car parking easy. We'd ordered food that was delayed, when we asked the staff they said the order hadn't got to the kitchen, immediately they gave us 2 free drinks as compensation. That was impressive. We stayed 2 nights as a stop gap, very good experience. Highly recommended. Will stay again.

The evening food menu was limited, no healthy options like salads or vegetable options to choose

This hotel is in close proximity to Manchester Airport and thus perfect for a one-night stay ahead of a trip by plane. The breakfast options feature variety including continental and British breakfast dishes. My room was spacious and cosy.

There was nothing I did not like. Staff members were extremely friendly and helpful, especially at breakfast. There was nothing they could have done better. Therefore, I definitely consider this hotel for rebooking.

The hotel exceeded my expectations. The staff was very friendly, breakfast was super and everything was just perfect, EXCEPT for the location.

I thought I had booked the Holiday Inn right by Terminal 2 at the airport. The one next to Ibis hotel. It turned out that was closed and the Holiday Inn where I ended up staying was out in the pampas. I had to get a cap to get there. That was 7.50£ and next morning I had to get a cap back to the airport as I was only staying overnight. I got in very late at night and I had to leave early the next morning. If you are just staying overnight for a few hours and want to stay right there at the airport, do NOT book Holiday Inn. They do not offer a shuttle service and it is located way out. Book Ibis which ist just across the street from Terminal 2.

The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. There was a free standing fan provided as the weather was very hot at the time and no air conditioning, which was appreciated. I ordered a panini and desert with a glass of wine in the restaurant. Everything was delicious and well priced. You have to order the food at the bar after being seated but that wasn't really a problem. Check in and out was fast and courteous.

There was nothing I didn't like about this hotel other than there is nothing else around to walk to eg. a pub etc.

The breakfast was plentiful and good quality and choice. Staff in the dining room were possibly the most friendly and helpful that we've encountered, in all our hotel stays, home and abroad. Room was fine and bed very comfortable.

Not within walking distance of Manchester airport, so taxis added to the cost of our stay. Still cheaper overall though, than an " on-site" hotel. No real dining options nearby. Bar area a little small and uninspiring.
