The reception staff at night. There was a lady who checked me in. Very helpful and friendly. Also a gentleman at the reception who got us drinking water to the room. Forgot both their names. Clear instructions upon checkin. Parking payment seamless. Room was fantastic, had everything we needed. Very comfortable.

Just one trolley in the lobby for the luggage. Although we didn't have to wait long to have it free to use. Struggled to charge our phone. We used the lamp socket to charge our phones. You can buy an adapter from a dispensing machine which is near the lobby, it will cost GBP 8 (expensive). All rooms should have at least a USB port. The world has moved on :)

The hotel staff are very efficient and friendly. The room was super clean and the beds were amazing - so comfy!

The only minor issue was getting there from the airport. I thought this was an airport hotel when I booked it and so assumed there would be some sort of shuttle to the hotel. There is not, and there are no ways to get to the hotel other than car or taxi (we tried three local buses, but none went close to the hotel). The taxi from the airport was expensive for us (we are from Canada) at 30.00 pounds. The hotel is great!! One tiny issue - a smell in the bathroom - I think the shower curtain might need to be changed to plastic as it created a "damp, slightly off smell" in the bathroom. Everything else was exceptionally clean and comfortable.

Property was very nice, clean airy building. Room were larger than expected, again very clean and airy on arrival. Staff very helpful. Only one problem , room above us had very noisy occupants during the night (from 02.30 until 04.00 when I phoned reception to complain about the noise because we couldn’t sleep. Problem dealt with immediately by staff)

Web site and map have me (a total stranger to the area) that the hotel was within easy walking distance of a town. On asking at the hotel for directions into town we were told it was approx 30-40 mins walk. Pictures of map on website did no show this. Having said that we did walk around grounds and Hotel itself was absolutely great for our needs.

We arrived after a long day in airports and a very delayed flight. We were greeted by Liz at 1 am, she was so welcoming and kind, offered us iced water and it’s been the most pleasant check in experience! The room was super clean, very spacious, a comfy bed and very quiet! Even though we only got a few hours sleep due to a connecting flight in the morning it’s been restful and we’re glad we choose the Holiday Inn. We got our taxi booked by Liz, which arrived on the minute at 7.25am, everything was perfect. Thank you very much!

We were asked if we’d like a wake up call, and we did - but the call for 6.45am never came. It was fine with us, since I had set my own alarm earlier, but we would have been in trouble if we had relied on it.

Most staff were friendly and accommodating. Jeremy and Kate at reception were particularly nice, but Francesca who serviced our rooms was exceptional. We had emigrated to the country and was using this as a stop gap until we found long term accommodation. Reception allowed us to bring a microwave to heat my 2 year old son's milk at night. I am greatly appreciative of this. Despite not needing it in the end, I discussed with reception before my booking to store stuff in their kitchen and they agreed (subject to t's&c's).

Parking was charged extra. The kettle kept tripping the plugs in my room, and instead of doing a through inspection, the maintenance team decided to blame me, saying that I had too many things plugged in. Despite the tripping occurring Before I brought the management approved microwave into the room. I reported it repeatedly (more than 7 times, in my 14 night stay) and I did not feel that I was taken seriously when I repeatedly reported the issue. The 2nd time we tried ordering room service and couldn't get through to the kitchen. Ended up getting takeout. There is no porter to help with your bags.

We arrived late (1am!) and the checking in process was efficient and friendly. The room was spotless and tidy, All the staff were friendly, helpful and human (ie not over-corporate). The choice of food at the buffet breakfast was good - juices, hot drinks, cereals, fruit, bread, cooked choices.

Our room was a bit hot and we couldn't set the thermostat below 19c. We were able to open a window though, which helped. Unfortunately we had noisy neighbours either upstairs or immediately next door, who kept laughing and talking well beyond 2am. We tried calling to them to be quiet, but they obviously couldn't hear us! If there had been a phone in the room we would have called reception. Maybe some improved sound insulation would help?

A mother and child travelling alone for a dance competition. This was last-minute booking due to a disaster booking at another local hotel. We arrived 15 minutes after booking. The receptionist was very pleasant and understanding as I was quite distressed. He gave me a free upgrade to a family room. The room was clean and spacious with two double beds and a pull out chair bed. Tea and coffee facilities, hair dryer,iron /ironing board, safe and a mini fridge. There is also Netflix installed on the TV wich was a bonus (need own log in) Couldn't fault this hotel, and I will be using It every year from now on.

Everything was very good, the only thing is that they do not have transfers to the airport.The room was comfortable, I shared the room with my children and husband, which was excellent for us, but the cleaning ladies did not leave towels for everyone and every day they had to ask for the missing towels. That is a lack of communication or information for the cleaning staff. They did not know how many people were in the room.

Hotel room was clean and tidy, staff were excellent with friendly welcome and and were able to sort our rooms out early as we had arrived earlier than we'd initially planned. We didn't have breakfast but did eat lunch at the bar, food was delicious and priced reasonably for a hotel. Beds were very comfortable, slept soundly, reasonably quiet and housekeeping staff were great in ensuring rooms kept clean and towels etc changed.

We are used to having a small fridge in hotel rooms as we are from NZ but am unsure if this is normal here that rooms in most hotels dont have a small fridge. But to be fair with the Holiday Inn, its primary clientele will be people requiring a 1 night stay prior to departing or after arriving from Gatwick so a fridge isn't necessary for people staying for that duration but since we were there for 4 days it would have been good to store milk, food etc. But we coped fine, it's a minor quibble.

The room was a really good size and clean. There were also tea and coffee making facilities which was appreciated. The buffet breakfast was amazing! My partner and I are both vegetarian and the choice was good-in particular the scrambled egg and chocolate croissant were beautiful. Our only suggestion would have been to also offer some quorn (or meat free equivalent) sausages as part of the veggie breakfast too.

Nothing-but to offer vegetarian meat free sausages would have been the cherry on the cake.
