The staff are extremely friendly, it’s such a lovely diamond place that you don’t expect in the spot it’s in. The room was really clean and modern, not super huge but the perfect stay as we were only there for the night. It’s on a beautiful square with loads of little cafes and pubs around, and easy parking too!

I personally loved every part, but this hotel isn’t at all sound proof if you’re a light sleeper. The pub is open until 1am with music on (they do make you aware) but they stay true to their word and the music is off by 1. They also turn it down around 11:30, so it was no bother to us. It was nice hearing how lovely it was!

We want to thank a lot the staff a lot. We were checking in after midnight, because of the long delay of our flight. The staff was very responsive and accomodating, given it was passed their check-in hours. The bed was also ver comfy and bathroom very clean. Tip for travellers who are not used to pub culture in UK, bring along earplugs, as there may be some notice from the street. Nevertheless, it adds the charm to the place.

The room was a lot nicer than I expected, better than the pictures too! The staff was really lovely too, she was absolutely nice and so sweet.

There wasn't anything I didn't like! We just didn't know the check-out time but that could be an error on our part. Though we did run out of toilet paper and needed trash bags but that was fine. Oh but there were nights were it was loud because of the bar but you get used to it.

This was a room only deal. The hotel doesn't do breakfast or evening meals. We were recommended the Abbey Cafe across the square for breakfast which was lovely with a varied menu and the centre of Selby has many places for an evening meal. The hotel is situated in the centre and is ideal for visiting the Abbey and other attractions. Check in was at the bar and the staff were very helpful. The room was not large but was beautifully clean as as was the ensuite with a very good shower. Ideal if you want a base for exploring or as a stop off on a long journey.

Ideal location, right in the centre of Selby. There is a side entrance which is used so you don’t have to go through the pub. Nice shower/bath and supplied cleaning stuff.

As it’s over a busy pub, there was noise and people outside swearing until quite late so the windows had to remain shut. The car park charges commenced at 8am so the machine had to be paid and there was no breakfast as an option. Upon arrival I was handed an envelope with my room card and door number by a bust barmaid, never to see or speak to anybody else. The pub was shut in the morning when I checked out so the key card was left in the same envelope on the bed. No milk to go with the supplied tea and coffee. The bad felt like two pushed together, there was a ridge down the middle. The large tv was up against a side wall so you had to sit in a chair to watch it.

Bedroom and bathroom facilities very clean. Kettle in room with tea coffee making items. No breakfast on offer, however a list in the room of where breakfast was offered.

The bath/shower was in the bedroom, not a separate room! The toilet only was in a room on its own. This was not made clear in the description of the rooms. Music from downstairs was heard well after midnight however we did stay on a Saturday evening so expected really staying in a pub. Only saw staff at check in very pleasant staff.

Absolutely brilliant hotel. The staff we spoke to were great. The bar is excellent and very cheap compared to what I expected for the area. The location of the hotel is perfect for anyone looking to go out for food and drinks. Almost in the centre of the town. The balcony next door to the rooms is amazing when the sun is shining.

Nothing at all

Lovely, clean and well decorated room and bathroom. Comfy mattresses and bedding. Decent coffee machine, kettle and selection of tea/coffee.

Noise would be a problem if you wanted to sleep before the pub below closed. Steep metal outside steps to the rooms, not suitable for anybody with mobility issues.

The pub downstairs is nice and was busy when we arrived. Could hear them playing bingo

Our double room was 2 single beds pushed together to make a double bed. Got woken up by the people setting up the market. Nobody was there to check out
