THe breakfast was good, my friend enjoyed the full English and I enjoyed the berries on my muesli. We had a small double with en-suite each, both of which were as advertised. The room was well kept and the linen clean. The location was marvellous being a short walk from the Old Village with its independent shops and many eateries. There is a lift which operates all day all week which takes out the steep walking down to the beach.

I didn't realise how high above sea level that Shanklin was. It is a perfect place for Singles or Couples but not so easy for Families that want the beach every day.

Staff were very considerate they had to check us in late despite their cut-off time, very pleasant and welcoming.

The Braemar is a lovely hotel, efficiently ran by Claire & Boz who are super friendly and helpful. The rooms have everything you will need and are very comfortable and well kept. The bar & games room is a great addition although it was locked and closed by the time we had returned in the evening. Breakfast couldn't be faulted, a great choice, well presented and cooked perfectly . . thoroughly recommend the Braemar to anyone who is looking for a stay in Shanklin.

As the local pubs closed around 23:00 it would have been nice to have a nightcap and maybe a game of pool on the games room, but it was closed each evening on or return to the hotel.

Perfect central location in the old town. Immaculately clean and definitely very "homely". Warm friendly welcome from the hosts. Great breakfast. A perfect environment to relax in and a perfect base for exploring the amazing island.

frankly....there was nothing we didn't like but being keen gardeners, some pots of colour on the path from the rear carpark to the side entrance may have helped those departing for home not feel so sad to be checking out.

Three over 70's two with some difficulty walking - steps into the property tricky with cases. Bathroom adequate and clean but tight for space.

Claire and Bos are friendly hosts with a very warm welcome which continued throughout our stay. very helpful when I requested a lighter duvet, everywhere was lovely and clean with an enjoyable breakfast.

I found the bed a little too soft but maybe that's me and I would have liked a little more variety for breakfast such as fruit, fresh or tinned. they have grapefruit which is fine but if you take statins you cannot eat so maybe prunes or tinned fruit would have been an alternative.

My partner and i were here last month and although i am not in the habit of giving hotels a 5 star rating, i can not do anything else but that. Okay, if you have to seek something negative then you are bound to find something (like any other hotel) but what makes a hotel worth while are not the stones and furniture but the owners and their hospitality. And this is something in which they excel. Highly recommended!

Everything, especially Claire & Bos. They're a lovely couple and we're very friendly and welcoming and if you want any info on the island they will help you. The room was spotless and the beds very comfortable and breakfast was delicious and perfectly cooked. We will definitely stay at the Braemar again.

pool table and great family games available in the lounge which was nicely decorated, helpful and friendly owners, car park, great location, tasty breakfast, tea in the room,

tiny bathroom with sink in the bedroom instead in the bathroom, no mirror in the bathroom, hot in the room even the weather wasn't that great, wooden bedframe which isn't suitable for such a small room because you banging your legs on it when you passing by.

Very good breakfast. Room a little bit cramped but comfortable. Perfect location. Close to beach and many restaurants nearby. The hosts Boz+Claire could not have been more accomodating. Nothing was too much trouble.

There was nothing that we did not like.
