The hosts were the nicest people ever, Anne n her hubby made us feel like family, nothing was too much trouble and we are already landing to go again, the best ever anywhere, bed very comfortable, plenty of tea coffee milk sugar n biscuits in the room nice hot shower and lovely breakfast with anything you wanted, it was home from home but waited on with the friendliest people ever, thank you loads Anne xxxxxx♥️

Nothing, it was all good and able to park car easily as I am disabled n plenty of room lots of cafes n pubs near y for a nice evening meal too.

Somerton Lodge was lovely and cosy, in a convenient location just a small walk from the village. We honestly weren’t expecting much for the price but we were pleasantly surprised. The room was nice and modern, with amenities like a smart TV, a hair dryer and a dressing table. There was also a lounge with games like chess and a large TV, a nice garden with benches and picnic tables, and there was a small bar with soft drinks and snacks (that operated with an honesty policy) that was very convenient to have on site. We also felt safe, with numerous security cameras around the site, a keypad on the front door and a key to access from the back. What we liked the most though, was how welcoming and hospitable the owners were. John and Ann were so friendly and couldn’t do enough to make our stay great, and whenever we needed them they were happy to help. Thank you for making our stay so great!

There wasn’t anything we didn’t really like. The shower was on the smaller side, so it’s worth being aware of if you have limited mobility or have a larger build as it may be a little uncomfortable, but that really is a small note that didn’t actually impact our stay personally.

On arrival we were made very welcome by John & Ann. The lodge was very clean ,light, comfortable and had a relaxed and clam atmosphere. The bedroom was of a good size, tastefully decorated and comfortable. There was a good choice of breakfast menu which was ordered the day before so when you arrived in the morning you were being served in a timely manner. The breakfast food was of a good quality and plentiful. The breakfast room layout was spacious and nicely decorated. Free onsite car parking is available and Free Wi-fi is available throughout with USB charging points all bedrooms.

No towel hooks in the bathroom

Warm welcome on arrival and we were made to feel very welcome. A lovely touch was the card and flowers given to us by the owners as it was our wedding anniversary weekend. It really made our stay and would definitely book again

Pre-ordering of breakfast the day before. Sometimes you just don't know what you want for breakfast until the morning and it seems a little 'old fashioned'. Not a huge problem, it just would have been nicer to be able to choose on the morning in case you fancy something different.

I stayed in a single room and it was absolutely beautiful, plenty of space, comfy bed, high powered shower and black out blinds. There is nothing at all that I could pick fault with if I tried. I noticed that The wifi is a really strong signal if that’s something that’s important to you. The hosts really make this place as special as it is, so friendly and make you feel so welcome. The breakfast is absolutely to die for and very good value for money. You order what you want the night before, this is to avoid food waste and when considering the huge issue with food waste in the hospitality industry I respect so much that they do this. Same with the towels, they encourage you to keep the towels on the rack if you don’t need them changed, now unless you’re the sort of person who uses a new towel every day at home I don’t think there’s any reason to expect a hotel to waste all that water and pollute waterways for you to have that treat while you’re away. I stayed for 5 nights and was nothing but thrilled the whole time. They made me feel at home while I was away from home on my own and I will forever be grateful for hosts like this. Even down to checking where I was going walking on a particularly rainy day and letting me know I could call them if I get stuck, they go above and beyond and I can’t wait to come back

Absolutely everything. The host from minute one had a welcoming smile, genuine interest in the journey without being intrusive. The property was more than spacious and very tastefully decorated. Everywhere was spotless and everywhere you looked there was a nice touch. The quality of the decor and artefacts demonstrate that the priorities are with the customer in mind. The bed was super comfortable and my room had a very generous sized TV. which reflected the spacious room. Breakfast was very good and presented well and with a smile.

If I have to comment on this part then all I can think of is the entrance is easy to drive past.

The staff are very friendly, the beds are so comfortable and very clean. The pictures have a nice personal touch of the island, making the lodge feel homely. The breakfast menu had plenty of choices and the portion sizes were decent. I had taken my partner for her birthday, and the staff at Somerton Lodge had left her a card and some flowers in the room. It was lovely to see that. I definitely recommend staying here and will definitely be back soon. Big thank you to the staff for making it a wonderful stay away from home.

Truddle fairies stole the white sugar.

The location was fantastic. Very peaceful neighbourhood with a bus stop immediately outside the hotel and a short walk to the old village and beach. Beautiful front garden and well cared for flora. Enjoyed my early morning read on the veranda. Room was modest but very comfortable and clean. Had the best night's sleep I have had in a long time. Good working shower which maintained a good flow of hot water. Host went out of her way to explain the local facilities and their locations in relation to the hotel on our arrival. We were also very grateful for the use of a fridge to keep my wife's medication cool. Outstanding price. Would definitely stay there again if we were to holiday on the Isle of Wight in the future. Thank you to all the staff.

There were no low points.

Lovely house; Warm, dry and comfortable. My three big requirements for accommodation are ground floor room, parking place for the car, and a kettle; All met. John and Ann are very welcoming, and very accommodating. I appreciate the bar in the lounge being soft drink only; Nothing worse than being in a room full of drunk people. Room prices are very reasonable, and breakfast is well worth the money. I could not ask for more.

Impossible to fault.

The Room was clean and tidy, beds comfortable, with tea and coffee avaibable. Shower and toilet with little round bars of soap and shower gel. There is plenty of cupboard space for all your cloths and a hairdryer to dry your hair. John and Anne where terrific hosts from the time we got there, to the time we left very friendly and helpful. all the other staff we also friendly and helpful and made you feel special. I'm not sure why this place has only a two star rating but I rate it at least 3 but more like 4.
