The staff at this property were so lovely nothing was too much bother for them, especially the staff in the restaurant they are a credit to the hotel. The hotel is small but set in lovely grounds, even though the hotel was full it never felt crowded.

The one down side of this property for me was there was not much entertainment in the evenings, it would of been nice to have a bit of background music in the evening. They did have a singer a few evenings for a couple of hours 7-9 either in the garden or bar depending on the weather, but other than that the hotel was very quite in the evening.

Breakfast was great, good choice. Location was perfect. The outdoor swimming pools were fantastic. We had them pretty much to ourselves. Very clean and well presented. Room 3 with the balcony and sea view was beautiful. It was more expensive than I'd like to pay, but was worth it for the view and experience.

The family room (room 10) was not good value for money. It had all the amenities and was nice and well-presented, but I've had the same elsewhere for half that price. Also, it was very stuffy, even with the window open. Thirdly, we were told at check-in that the room would not accommodate all of us (2 adults, 3 children, 1 baby). I explained that the baby would be sharing the bed, but they insisted (politely) that the room only took 2 children, not 3. So we booked a second room. When we arrived in room 10 we saw that it was set up for 3 children after all, and so the second room was technically just because of the baby, who would be sharing with me and my husband anyway. This upset me. However, I'm glad we took a second room as the first was too stuffy for us all.

We took out 2 rooms next to each other, the hotel was amazing as exceeded our expectations. Quiet and tranquil, amazing views and accessable to shops and beach in a few minutes. Bonus with EV charging, a games room and swimming pool as we were mainly there for a relaxing staycation rather than explore the town. Food was delicious, staff was very friendly and helpful, rooms were imaculate

We didn't deliberately book a room with a view so we really didn't get one which was fine. But, I believe we were above the kitchen because with the windows open we could smell the cooking coming from the extractor fans.

The staff are exceptionally helpful. Room was comfortable with a fantastic view. I am always impressed with a hotel which provides fresh milk in the room. The view of the sea and gardens from the restaurant. The live music was a bonus and the garden looked magical with the lighting at night. Lovely garden - the lily pond had lots of fish and dragonflies whizzing around. We were given a ticket for entry to Shanklin Chine which was unexpected. Swimming pools are lovely. We had a go on the putting green.

In general, we were happy with our stay, staff were very helpful, professional and polite. Our room was not large but did have a good-sized bathroom. The only issue with the bedroom was that we had to keep squeezing past each other to get to and from the bathroom.

The area I would suggest for improvement would be breakfast. On both mornings the coffee was not hot, I asked for a replacement pot on the second morning but it was as tepid as the first pot. The hash browns are precooked and stale as the croissants, the pastries could be of better quality, they were stodgy and unappetising. The views are exceptional and despite the works going on in the grounds, the weather ensured we had a pleasant stay, thank you. We will come back.

We stayed over the August Bank Holiday weekend and cycled to the hotel. It had a separate locked storage facility for our bikes which we were happy with. We would have liked a room with a balcony and sea views, but the hotel was almost full when we booked therefore, we only had the option of a standard room. This was more than adequate for us, it was clean and bright, a reasonable size, had plenty of storage and also tea and coffee making facility's. There was a good choice of food for breakfast and you could book in for dinner if you wanted. We ate in the hotel for one of the nights and were surprised with some live entertainment! All staff were pleasant and attentive. We had a brilliant time and would like to go back. We are a mature couple but if you have kids there is plenty here to keep them occupied, 2 swimming pools, outside play areas and a games room. You can walk down to the sandy beach which isn't too busy (a lot of steps for very young children) and if you walk to the left for a bit there is a very nice pub called Fisherman's Cottage Inn. The views from the hotel are amazing and the hotel garden is very well kept and pleasant to sit in or walk around. It has lots of flowers, water features and a large fish pond.

Breakfast was good, the room was nice and clean. The staff were helpful and friendly and we had all we needed

The room was too hot for us, we kept the window open all the time. We both had an evening meal which was lovely, the dessert was cheese cake with caramel ice cream, unfortunately sea salt makes me ill but fortunately my daughter asked about the caramel which had sea salt in it and the mushrooms at breakfast had sea salt on them but there was no mention of this in the menu which would have been helpful.

Amazing view from room 16, which looked like the best room in the place :) generally speaking large and well apointed with a large terrace looking onto the sea. Also very pleasant garden and pond, as well as very friendly staff.

The one thing we lacked was a parasol or something else to give a little shade on the terrace. So possibility to add shade on the terrace of the large room would have been great. Also, the smaller 2nd room we had was not great, didnt have a view of any sort really, was quite stuffy and had constant hum of some sort of vents next to it, so it was a very big contrast from the bigger one. So it could really use a bit of an upgrade, at least by adding some way to cool it and maybe a couple of nice touches such as a robe and toiletries.

The location is fabulous, on top of a cliff with spectacular views . The swimming pools are gorgeous, really liked the artificial grass around the pools, such a good idea as it wasn’t slippery like other surfaces and clean and soft for bare feet. The sun beds are fantastic and give the pools an expensive feel. We really enjoyed the putting ( in the pretty gardens , and free !) especially as my elderly Dad was with us and he loved it! The staff were super friendly and although we only had a standard room , we had a super king size bed which was wonderful, I had the best nights sleep I’ve had for ages. There is so much to do , the indoor pool looked very inviting and the games room was great. Seems to be a perfect place for multi generational holidays.

We thought the dinner menu was a bit limited and would have liked some simpler choices , we’d had lunch so didn’t want a three course formal dinner as well. Otherwise perfect !

Friendly, helpful staff. Views from the sea facing rooms were superb. Hotel was very clean. Food delicious. It's a very short walk to Shanklin Old Village where there are some nice gift shops, tea rooms and restaurants.

The outdoor pool is lovely but the sun beds are rock solid, hard and uncomfortable. There is no "give" in them at all, so we only used them once and had to leave after an hour. Not a major thing and it certainly won't stop us from returning to the hotel again.
