All the team at the Havelock were very friendly, welcoming and very helpful. Breakfast was freshly prepared, hot and tasty. Our room was compact but well equipped, the bed was very comfortable and was serviced every day which was very nice to see/have. The hotel's location means it is in a mainly quiet road but handy for the town (old and new), the route down to the beach and to the Chine. It is also handy for the Coastal Path so you can walk either way without taking the car.

Breakfast time from 8.30 to 9.30 was a little limiting - 8 to 9.30 would have been better.

We were greeted by Paul who, along with Vicky, ensured that we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The room was clean and comfortable with a beautiful sea view. Breakfast each morning was well organised, delicious and excellent value. There were 2 car parks available and the location is perfect for the beach, Shanklin Chine and Shanklin Old Village. The pool was sublime, we spent a couple of hours each afternoon having a dip and relaxing on the sun loungers. Paul provided pool towels which was a nice touch. Each evening we were able to take bottles of fresh, cold water up to our room, provided by Paul. Nothing was too much trouble and we will definitely be back!

We couldn't stay longer.......

Great location, lovely hosts who were super friendly and attentive. We only had breakfast once during our stay and it was very good, lots of choice with good quality produce. Our room whilst small was nicely decorated, clean, with a good selection of hot drinks options and great addition of usb ports in the beside lights. Lovely lounge/bar area with comfy sofas and books and games to play.

Our room was a little on the small side and directly over the breakfast room so lie ins were a bit challenged as you can hear everyone chatting from below. Sadly didn't get to use the pool as although heated it just wasn't warm enough. Drinks at the bar are a bit on the pricey side but plenty of choice and nice to relax at the hotel after dinner.

We had an amazing weekend stay for our 7th wedding anniversary. Customer service was top class, and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Our room was beautiful and clean with a lovely sea view. Every time we came upstairs after breakfast, our room was cleaned, the bed was made, and the tea and bisuits area were restocked. Oh my, the breakfast was so delicious and plentiful. I loved having unlimited tea, juice, toast, cereal, etc. The pool area was so relaxing, we had a lovely swim and sunbath. To top it off, the location of the hotel is perfect. We were in walking distance to the beach, high street, bus stops, Shanklin chine, restaurants, etc. Thank you to Paul for making our very first trip to the Isle of Wight, so relaxing and memorable. We will definitely be back!

Nothing, everything was great!

I have visited the Havelock regularly, especially in recent post-Covid years, and it has become a particular favourite of mine. The location is ideal for the beach and cliff top, the Old Town and the town centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are wonderful, though not good news when you are trying to lose weight !

The room was a bit on the small side and didn't face the front. Given the hot weather while I was there, I would have liked to be able to open the windows wider and ventilate the room a bit more. A desk to sit at while writing would have been useful. The bar could stock more local bottled ales. These are relatively minor complaints - I look forward to visiting the Havelock again next year !

On arrival we were made to feel very welcome. We had messaged to say we would be late, Paul and Vicky tried to get us on an earlier ferry to no avail so Vivky stayed up to await our arrival. Cannot thank her enough for this. When we awoke the view of the sea from the window was beautiful, even though we were not in a seaview room! Hotel was very clean, room was spotless, care and attention was clearly a priority. Breakfast was superb. Location was perfect, easy for the beach and old village, didn't use car at all. We will definitely be coming back.

There was nothing to dislike.

Friendly helpful owners and their cleaner. Really nice room and they kindly upgraded the single room we'd booked for our 15yr old to a double door next to us as it was available. Didn't try breakfast, just because we don't usually have it until later. Very clean and comfortable room and bathroom. Nice bar, plenty of parking and a short walk to bars and restaurants in Old Village and to the Chine and beach, perfectly located.

No negative points, all good

The staff were so friendly throughout our stay. The bar was open every night and was well stocked with a good selection, including the local gin (Mermaid). The rooms were lovely - nice-sized bed, a large standing fan provided, fountain shower in the bathroom. We didn't use the pool but it looked clean and well maintained from what we saw. The hotel is easy to find with some parking in front and extra parking behind. We had breakfast on our last morning - lots of choice in the buffet for cereals, fruit, tea and coffee, and the cooked breakfast was really tasty. The hotel is only a 5-minute walk from the entrance to Shanklin Chine, the beach and Shanklin high street. Had a lovely time here and will definitely be back!

Did not have breakfast but the dinning room was lovely with large glass doors overlooking the garden. Beautiful garden at the front of the hotel. Modern clean comfortable lounge and bar area with a selection of books to read and large screen TV . Table and chairs outside overlooking the garden. Swimming pool is at the rear of the hotel with sunloungers and tables and chairs around. Car park at the side and rear of the property. My room was a single room, quite small and very hot. Modern and tea and coffee hot choc and biscuits. Bathroom with shower spotlessly clean with wonderful quality toiletries. Paul and Vicky are the hotel owners they work hard to ensure you have everything you need. I should have asked for a fan in the heat wave as they had one. Nothing is too much trouble and the hotels quality is a credit to them. I would highly recommend a stay anytime.

Would love the pool to be heated. 😊
