We were thrilled to find a room that comfortably accommodated our family if 6 (one bed in main studio style room, two beds in bedroom). The location was perfect for walking into town, and a quick easy drive to the park entrance. The views of the pond and golf course were lovely! Breakfast was great!

Our only minor issue was the in-room coffee pot not working, but the coffee available in the lobby worked just fine for us! We’d have loved it if breakfast started at 6 instead of 7, so we could grab something on our way to the park. Most days we left before 7 to get a parking space. The hot tub was in an odd location, but it was very clean and we were happy to use it after every hike.

WE loved THE LOCATION! CLOSE TO TOWN TO WALK; GOLF COURSE BEHIND WITH ELK GRAZING AND RIVER PATHS THRU IT! Room was clean and comfortable. Hot tub was out of order so that was disappointing. Office staff not very knowledgable of the area. Breakfast choices were good. Great Stay!

As mentioned above , was disappointing that hot tub was not available. Our room had no table or luggage stand, both would have been helpful.

The location was fantastic we had double balcony room amazing view of the mountains Elks wandering about free light breakfast toast cereal yogurt waffles tea coffee juice enough to set you up for the day next to visitor centre free shuttle running up and down but close enough to walk to downtown shops across the road although lots of steep climbs

could not get a taxi or uber we were going up to stay at The Stanley Hotel although you could walk it was really hot and it's a steep walk especially with luggsge but big thanks to the young lady on reception (around 10.30am) who helped us get a taxi which was extortionate at $20 for 2 minute ride needs more public transport or taxis not everyone drives on holiday

The location was great, close to everything in Estes Park, short drive to RMNP, beautiful mountain views! Our room was very clean, seemed it was newly remodeled as well. Elk visited the grassy spaces at the lodge often, so it was neat to see them. My husband appreciated the height of the shower head since he is a taller guy. They offer a basic, filling breakfast. Toast, boiled eggs, muffins, premade waffles, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, pop tarts, cereal, milk, coffee, hot tea, juice and water. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again if in the area. The hot tub was nice also after a long hike. There is a nice outdoor seating area and fire pit near the pond.

Did not dislike anything. If the space could be found, on-site laundry facilities would be a bonus!

Everything was absolutely perfect. From checking in and checking out. The two day stay was the best. The elk grazed on the property so cool to see. The room we had was called mountain king. It was so nice with king size bed, room and the bathroom/ shower was great! Very clean place. I definitely recommend! I will definitely be back to stay at Discovery Lodge! Front desk customer service awesome! If you like to shop the town of estes park has awesome little shops and you can walk to it or drive. We had a wonderful time! I do wish for more comfortable chairs or loveseat to sit on. I loved the metal table and chairs but not for sitting to watch tv.

This is a quaint little lodge, the pond on location was pretty and provided entertainment with the geese who infiltrated it daily. The fire pit was a nice touch, and the staff was incredibly sweet and accommodating.

The AC did not work well at all, so it was HOT at night. Your front door to your room is a sliding glass door without a screen, so for safety/privacy/ noise it's not ideal to keep it open to get some crosswind with the window in the room. It is also dog friendly, which is fine for polite guests, but we stayed next to a room with two dogs who howled very early in the morning when their owners left. The bathrooms could use some updating but were fairly clean, outside of some stray hairs left on the floor.

The lodge was quaint and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was exceptional as it was less than a half mile to walk to the main street in Estes Park on a walking path. We had a room with nice big windows and a small balcony with 2 chairs that had a view of the pond and golf course where elk were seen every day. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was a nice size and looked like it was recently updated. Even though our room backed to the main highway, we did not hear any noise if we kept our windows shut. The air conditioner worked well and kept the room cool, although it was a little bit noisy while running. The basic continental breakfast was handy in the morning.

A few minor things that we could see for improvement would be to have the location of the television changed - it was sitting on the dresser in a distant corner in the room where it could not be viewed by one of the beds; it should be mounted on the wall that directly faces both beds. We didn't go to Estes Park to watch television; however after a long day of hiking it might have been nice to watch a movie at night, but we couldn't see the TV. We would have also liked to have had a roll-up curtain on the window that is on the door that goes out to the balcony. The sun comes in that window very early in the morning and woke us up and the light comes in until late at night (in the summer). The rest of the room had blackout curtains which were nice.

Everything was very clean and worked well. Facilities appear like they have been retrofit well, smelled fresh. Backs up to a golf course but it was quiet and the best part was that it had a huge amount of birds from the nearby bird sanctuary. Tons of species for anyone into that-- white crown sparrows, broad billed hummingbird, cliff swallows and many others.

Two things I wish would be different-- dedicated shampoo and soap (they had a combined soap + shampoo, a minor issue) and the shades. The shade worked great for blocking out sun, but having a secondary shade that allowed light in while obscuring view would be appreciated. I felt like I had to either let passerby look directly into the room through the glass door or to block out all light.

The rooms were great with comfortable beds and pillows. Having the refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave in the room was very handy. Our room had a view of the playground and a distant view of the pond. Much to our delight a female moose was grazing on the grass of the playground in the evening. We all enjoyed the hot tub during a pop-up rainstorm!

We were traveling with friends and our rooms were far apart in different buildings. It wasn't possible to move the rooms closer together unfortunately. The hot tub was a portable 4-seater and there were six of us so that was very tight. Fortunately, no one else at the hotel was using it while we were there! Sadly, we missed the 7 am breakfast due to our 6 am departure.

Overall, the Lodge had worked on a lot of the little details to make the stay comfortable - the breakfast was very nice and thoughtfully done, the internet was fast and efficient, and everything was super clean. The elk wandering through the property and out behind on the golf course were fantastic.

The bathtub was INCREDIBLY slippery - when we asked for an anti-slip mat, it was clear that many others had commented on this before as the response was "We always just ask guests to be extra careful." How dreadful is that! We stay in a lot of hotels/motels and this was (a) the slipperiest tub that we have ever encountered, and (b) the worst response for help to resolve the problem. For want of a $3 anti-slip mat, we could have had a terrible accident.
