Everything about the lodge was great
There was only one thing that was actually awful and it was my experience with booking.com. We stayed at the Ponderosa lodge for 2 nights, and booking.com booked 2 different rooms, so after our first night, we had to switch rooms. I called booking.com and they said it was the lodge's fault, but when we got to the lodge we found out it was in fact booking.com's fault. They said this always happens with booking.com. Very annoying

It was like staying at your family’s mountain cabin. Felt like home! The staff is incredible. The room has everything you need. We made ample use of the frig, microwave, and coffee maker. Bed was very comfortable. Lack of AC was NO issue. We were there in the middle of August and the room was very comfortable. The location to the RMNP entrance is outstanding.
There are two entrances. One has a hill that is so steep you cannot even see the road heading down..it appears you are driving off a cliff. Do not us that entrance. Drive onto the neighboring lodge, Stonebrook, and use the back entrance for Ponderosa.

The location was amazing and it was so beautiful. It was perfectly secluded from the main road and the room was very clean and comfortable. I stayed in Estes Park for a wedding and the location is convenient to everything. We were so busy I was hardly in the room but appreciated the comfortable bed, shower that had hot water, and extra fan to have on at night, and a balcony with beautiful views.
The ice machine was right outside my window so I could hear people early in the morning or late at night but really no complaints!

Fireplace in the room was awesome, though we couldn't ever get the big logs to actually light. Wonderful art on the walls, scenery from the shared balcony (there is no smoking on any of the balconies, though we saw cig butts that had been tossed from them down towards the river). Hearing the river from your room is wonderful! We also got some really good coffee in our room, and the soap/shampoo included in the room is great stuff! Also, we were very late to check in, but the staff left us our key in a mailbox so we didn't have to sleep in the car.
There was next to no water pressure, but only for the shower. The seal for the tub faucet that activates the shower might need to be replaced (Room 2) Room got really cold at night, even with the thermostat and heater. Maybe bring an extra blanket, and definitely bring pajamas. There was some major road construction right outside the motel, so that wasn't very nice to wake up to and listen to both days, but that's not the motel's fault. While the rooms are pretty soundproof from the outside, they are certainly not soundproof from each other. You will have high fidelity access to the conversations of others (if they talk louder than a whisper)

This was a beautiful room with a creek just below your balcony. Staff was very friendly and helpful with dinner suggestions which were excellent. The room had nice toiletries, was clean and decorated as pictured. The bed was comfortable and had lights on both sides of the bed with a shelf too. There was a small sofa in the room to sit on. There were chairs available to sit outside on the deck or the lawn by the creek. There was a pavillon with picnic tables that we did not use but we saw a family gathering putting it to use, It was a comfortable stay. You felt not only safe but welcomed at this property. They also have cookies every day-always a plus in my book. My husband fished in the creek. Very close to national park entrance.
There was not one thing that I didn't like about this property. My preference next time would be to get a room with a private balcony but that is only my preference.

Katie is a gem. She is hard working, caring, welcoming and makes guest feel like an old friend stopping in. The manger is so nice and helpful and accommodating. The bed was very comfortable and room clean. I liked having the frig, microwave, paper towels, and coffee pot with all the packets of drink options. Location was good to be between the Rocky Mountain National Park and downtown Estes Park.
Getting in and out of the parking area. The construction noise starting at 7AM right outside the building.

The lodge is just outside of the National Park which was great for us. they had firewood for the fire pit and the wood stove in the room free of charge. Front desk staff was great and Aspen (front desk dog) loves people. I will most likely stay here again
when we arrived I realized there wasn’t an actual air conditioner. Being from the south I stay hot but there was a standing fan in the room. It worked and the nights were cool so I had no problems.

Everything was extremely clean, the bed was comfortable, and the sound of the river was soothing. A kitchenette was available with everything needed for a weekend. The balcony had a couple of chairs and a small hammock! One of my favorite parts were the toiletries! I love the brand and there was plenty to use without the waste of small bottles.
There’s a bit of construction going on at the street level but not an issue for us.

The Fall River flowing through provided a unique experience, There were many places around the hotel where you can sit and relax on the banks of the River. The staff I had interaction with was kind and helpful. They provided me with clear directions to reach the hotel late at night. Overall very happy with the stay.
Nothing much, everything was either expected or exceeded my expectations.

so warm in room 5.. couldn’t adjust temperature below 75 degrees because this room under boiler.. effected sleep even though agent suggested opening window.. still too warm and didn’t like wasting their energy bill to do this could have used a few kitchen towels instead of paper
