I loved the cleanliness and convenience of this hotel. The morning breakfast was great when I was actually able to get it. I loved that this location was minutes from everything in walking distance.

I did not like that the rooms where much smaller then expected. I paid for a city view and got a brick wall as my view. There is no microwave in the rooms and the fridge did not work, kept going out. Also the rooms were very cold although I had it on 80 the entire time. The hotel did however give me a portable heater, which got to hot to touch and the cord ended up burning my foot when I touched it. I believe the free breakfast should be accommodated in other ways cause it was way to crowded with long lines for the short time you get.

The breakfast was a highlight, delicious, and with a good variety every day of our stay. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The location is great, close to the metro station, which takes you to the airport. It was also a block from a train station and there was a bus stop nearby. The room and bathroom were clean and the bed was soft. We arrived before check-in time and I asked the staff if it was possible to bring it forward, luckily there was a room available and we were able to check in early, which was great as it was a long flight (and I didn't sleep the night before).

There were only two things that I didn't like and that could be improved: we stayed in room 702 and the view was to a wall of the neighboring building. 😂 And the breakfast area is small if it's weekend with a holiday, they could increase the space and it would be ideal.

The location was incredible for my first time in Chicago. "The Loop" for those like me is the loop the citys train makes and all lines are within a short walk of the hotel. Meaning traveling was so cheap and easy. A short walk to the new River Walk and tons of great restaurants and tours. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and always a great way to start the day. Not just pancakes and juice like some hotels, Hyatt Place had a variety of bagels, eggs, fresh fruit, oat meal, grits- it was great. Also great coffee and juice. The pool was a huge plus as its pretty rare in a city hotel. Its not that big but perfect for kids or doing some laps in the morning. I loved my room! The view was great for the price and loved how the whole wall was a window. I felt right at home with the amenities. A great way to wake up in the morning and wind down at night. This hotel would be great whether I brought my family or traveled alone. Definitely would come back next time Im in Chicago.

There is nothing I didn't like about the hotel. For the price, this hotel met all my needs and more.

Great friendly and helpful staff checking in/out. Nice big bathroom with a very nice shower. Elevators was fast to respond. Room was very clean, and inviting.

For the $$ they charge, the beds should be a lot better. A queen should be the smallest offered, not the small full size. USB chargers must be installed to bring these rooms up to date. The TV system was so involved to get working, it wasn't worth the aggravation to figure out. Breakfast items was lacking real food with substance. They Couldn't get a cab hailed, and ended up running to the train station with luggage in tow, almost missing the ride out.

The location was perfect. We were able to walk to a lot of places we wanted to go in 15 minutes. The free breakfast was really good! We went a little before end time the first morning & there was still plenty to choose from. Parking was expensive, but it included in/out privileges that garages outside of Hyatt did not offer.

One thing that bothered us during our stay was noise from other guests. Not sure if the walls are very thin or if the children were just really loud. Our large shade for the window fell down immediately after we touched it. Although it was fixed, we could tell it was rigged originally. We felt uncomfortable to touch it and just kept it down the entire time, so no sunlight or view.

The location was great and we Ubered to attractions. Our room was very large and had a great view of the city. The staff were extremely friendly and when we needed to cancel our last night they were gracious in giving us a refund. The complimentary breakfast was delicious with a large variety of fresh choices including freshly cooked eggs, sausage, fruit, yogurt and waffles. The Starbucks coffee was a treat and complimentary as well. Dominic was the lead server in the dining room and she was fabulous.Very friendly and she made sure that the food and drinks were replenished as it was a packed dining room. She always had a great attitude and smiled when we asked her how she was able to manage such a large amount of food and guests.

I like the welcome from the receptionists, who were very attentive informingmeabout the arrangements of the parking garage, and when I got checked in She gave me all the instructions to have a nice stay, about the facilities where they were at, and how to used them as well as the schedule of operations. The room was very spacious, and the beds were comfortable and cozy. Continental breakfast was awesome, there was a variety of food, and servers were paying attention to every dish of food, so when was about to run out, they would add more fresh food. Thank you very much for your job.

I couldn't stay longer.

Clean hotel, Comfortable rooms, very decent size, good equipment with a small fridge, coffee maker. Great comfortable beds, except for the very uncomfortable sofa bed. It looks like hotels in general aren’t willing to invest in decent sofa beds…Why ??? Very good breakfast with nice selection of sweet and savoury items and some fresh fruits. We enjoyed that they carried Tazo tea. Breakfast was good, especially considering it was included in the price of the room. It was convenient for us, especially as we were traveling with children. Breakfast got really busy on the weekend though but the staff was doing an amazing job at making sure there was constantly a great selection of food and beverages, no matter the number of guests helping themselves at the buffet. I feel like their job wasn’t easy and they were always so nice and helpful. Thank you ! The location was good for us, especially as it was convenient to take buses, metro and trains for transportation in order to arrive from the airport, enjoy different parts of the city, visit old friends in the Northwestern suburbs. That being said, the hotel is close enough to walk to Millennium park or Michigan ave for instance. There is also a bus stop close by the hotel that takes you to Lincoln park zoo, which was very convenient for us. The pool was clean and good sized The staff in the lobby was always friendly and helpful during our 4 nights stay. We would definitely come back.

Overall excellent, maybe they should make sure there are always clean towels by the pool… it was a bit annoying to find out there wasn’t any clean towels after we got into our bathing suits. Also there wasn’t a phone in the pool area to call reception to ask for towels.

The hotel is located a block from the Lyric opera house in the financial district of Chicago. It is about 2 big city blocks from the train station. We did not need a car for our entire stay and traveled by train, bus, foot, bike, and 2 Uber. We bought a 3-day transportation pass for 5 people and it cost $75, which got us on busses and trains the entire stay. On our way out we used the Van Buren station (about 1.2 miles away) to ride the South Shore line all the way to South Bend Indiana! I enjoyed staying here because since it's in the financial district, after 5 there is no noise or traffic to worry about. You can almost stand in the middle of the street. There is a great restaurant called Roanoke about a block away. Breakfast is included and is actually great, eggs, bacon, oatmeal, waffles, muffins, fresh fruit, coffee, juice, milk..really great. If you are coming in for a play or want a close-to-everything but quiet location at night this is a great spot convenient to transportation.

The room's beds are clean but too firm and the air conditioning shuts off in the middle of the night (no way to adjust). I am a solid sleeper but this made the sleeping 3 stars. The gym and pool are too small you won't want to go in either of them. They have a bar and a "Starbucks" but it's never open. Unless you want to buy a Truly and sit with the lights off.

You can order food delivery to the lobby, so you can order from all your favorite places and save time for the dinner restaurants you want to actually sit down inside of. The shower is big, and the curtain and shape of the shower itself curves out, so nothing cramps up on you when the water is on. That was unique, useful, and cool. The taxis pull right up to the hotel entrance. We felt safe. We liked the place very much.

The only thing i would say i wasn't really fond of was the glass door to the bathroom. It doesn't hide the noise, and you can still see movement from the inside/outside even though the glass is matted out. You'll need to turn the water on, listen to music, take a shower, or maybe do that all at once in order to create some white noise to block out the sounds if you have multiple people staying in one room even it's big. We also kept missing breakfast somehow. It's early. I guess that's on us, but they do have a microwave you can use. The window faces the tall walls of another building, but they give you the option to pay a little more for a better view that's on you to choose. I can't really complain about anything. The place is good.
