The hotel was around the corner from my daughter's apartment, and mass transit lines on Wells. There is a drive up parking space from the Madison entrance (one way heading West) which is better than the "no parking" zone directly in front of the main entrance on Franklin. There are iParkit garages nearby (download the app) where you can park cheaper than paying the hotel garage fee. The breakfast is continental, plus the hot station, served by staff behind the plexiglass barriers, which I preferred, because it regulates the mess around the steam trays and prevents guests from hoarding huge portions. There are 3 waffle irons and assorted bagels and sliced breads in to-go paper sleeves. Boiled eggs, yogurt, bananas, oatmeal packets beside the whole milk dispenser. Coffee and tea station right by the entrance bottlenecks the breakfast area, so just bypass it until you get to the actual food section around the corner. Each room had a fridge and microwave, which was very helpful.

There are only 2 elevators for 8 floors, which can get crowded and have long wait times around breakfast time. Starts at 7 am on weekdays and 8 am on weekends.

Property very clean and staff friendly. Breakfast could have been a little more accommodating. Went through line, had to have a ticket for breakfast. Received a biscuit with gravy, some eggs and sausage links. Went back to get another biscuit and was told I needed another ticket. I’m 6’ 4” and 220 pounds. I had the same amount of breakfast as the 10 year old girl at the table next to me. I figured spending $550 for 2 nights they wouldn’t have given me grief for another biscuit and gravy. The funny thing is the waffle station was make your own, I could have had 10 waffles if I wanted but do not care for waffles

We were given a free room upgrade to an Accessible room. It was enormous and very comfortable. Thank you. The location for visiting the attractions of Chicago was great. Loved it.

The adjoining Noodle Bar opened and closed at will. There was no rhyme or reason to their opening hours. We called in to ask the opening times, after finding it closed the evening before, to be assured that they would be open, Great! That is until we called and were told that we couldn't dine in because that part was closed. Really??? While La Quinta are not responsible for Noodles and Company, at least I don't think they are, the adjoining door to the hotel does seem to imply some sort of affiliation, rightly or wrongly. Not sure what can be done about this.

The location seems to work for us.

I must say I've never really had a bad experience at this property but the last morning I was there I had a friend stop by to visit me. I came down to escort him to my room. As we were getting on the elevator a hotel front desk agent halted my friend and told him he was not a guest and should check in or something to that effect. But I felt that because of how he looked as in the color of his skin. He was harassed right in front of ME the guest. Laquinta needs to do better!

The staff at the continental breakfast was amazing! There was one woman in particular and I am sorry I didn't get her name, she was so sweet and happy and made everyone smile. It was a bright and cheery way to start our day!

The staff was very sweet and accommodating. My only complaint was we had a room with one kind size bed and one pull out couch. The pull out couch was incredibly uncomfortable. We needed bedding for the pull out so I went down to the front desk and requested it. Two hours later we still didn't have it so I went back down to the front desk. The woman asked me to wait and she went back and got blankets and a pillow and handed it all to me so I had to carry it up to my room on my own. Just seemed a bit unprofessional to be handed all of these blankets to carry up myself.

How accommodating the staff were. The front desk were able to let us check in early. After a 14hour flight we struggled to sightsee until check-in time. Our Breakfast server, Ariane, was delightfully cheerful, asking after everyone, humming away. Such a treasure. The location was within minutes of Union Station, Sears Tower, L train,, Starbucks, 24hour minimart (circle k) and walgreens.

Not much. The main dislike was the laundry was unavailable. This was because they were in the process of converting the machines from coin operated to card operated. Should be all good now.

A 3 Stars seemed not enough. This hotel is a great location to pride you a very comfortable stay. Provides with a very nice room ( and I didn't even opt to upgrade ) with plenty of room, not cramped at all. A microwave, fridge and TV in room, plenty plenty of plug sockets and USB chargers. A free breakfast is provided during your stay with no extra cost. A room also to do your washing with dryer too ( 2 washer 2 dryer ). This is coin based so you will have to get 8 1/4's to use the machine, plus detergent. There is a small.shop inside the hotel to buy small items, which includes washing detergent! With the Willis/Sears Tower a stone throw away, River walk and the Hop On Tour Bus on your doorstep, as a tourist visiting the Windy City, its a treatable location for your stay.

The Hotel does say its a Cashless Hotel, which is true to its word. Getting change for the washing machine and dryer may be troublesome if you didnt think this through. Near by banks or restaurants/convenient stores may help you. As nowadays, money is all done by card. Washing cycle may take 30 minutes then 30 minutes for dryer of your time, and only 2 of each provided, a first come serve base. However, its 24hours, and because of its coin base, plus who'd be doing the washing too may be rare.

The Location is great-close to trains and buses. Rooms were comfy. Breakfast was GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We really appreciated the options for breakfast so everyone in our family found something they liked. Loved the security features they offered (elevator didn't work without key card). Noodles and Co being attached to the hotel was nice for a later meal.

Breakfast hours could be longer (7-9 during the week and 8-10 on weekends). It made breakfast a bit crowded because everyone had to eat in a small timeframe. Most restaurants nearby are closed on weekends, but there were options within a decent walking distance.

We were in a business suite (bedroom and conference room 408) and it was quite roomy and comfortable. The bed, pillows, etc were all comfortable and the room was very clean. The bathroom was spacious. We used the secure luggage storage both before and after our stay. I enjoyed looking out at the alley ways on either side of our suite. We walked everywhere in the loop from the hotel and took the blue line from O'hare to get within a few blocks of the hotel. (Beware, the subway is not accessible to mobility challenged people at all stops--stairs necessary).

Although we were only there for one night, we learned there was no daily housekeeping unless a longer stay was booked. This seems to be the way that hotels are rolling post pandemic. E.g. We limited housecleaning in the pandemic and now it seems to be the path moving forward at the expense of the guests. A fee is charged for early check-in and late check-out. (Booking.com....can there be points to get FREE early and late check-out? Flights never seem to correspond with hotel check-in and checkout times.) The breakfast was average. I would skip it next time.

Location is on point. Walking distance to everything.

Check in process. I know early check in is slim to none but please try to make this better. I asked for a late check out and it was approved but after 2 knocks and a call to the room it almost felt like they were kicking me out. I was upset and frustrated about this. It felt humiliating after paying $1100 for 3 nights. I didn’t feel like a paying customer. Thank you for that feeling.
