The room was much better than we expected. The room was very clean. Carpets, room , bedding looked like they were recently done over. We chose this property because it was closest hotel to a wake and funeral we were attending. Check in time is 3:00 pm We arrived @ 1:00 pm due to severe weather that was forecasted that day. We were allowed to check into our room early and get ready for the wake when we advised them of the situation..

They don’t offer breakfast but there were several places to eat a couple of blocks away

The location was great for those visiting Boston with a car. The room was spacious and conformable, the AC worked well. The room was clean enough, especially considering the prices in the region - I mean, you can see that the building will need a serious cosmetic maintenance soon, but the beds were clean and super comfortable and the bathroom was clean too - we didn't mind somewhat less shiny walls and corridors. Having a lake right outside your windows is bonus too. In general, the neighbourhood seemed calm and safe.

For the price we paid, we cannot really complain at all... The common areas and the room floor and walls might need some maintenance, but if you come here only to sleep, that doesn't bother at all.

The location could use some cleaning up. It seems like a run-down part of town but great service in bar restaurant. And many choices less than 3 miles up the road.. The lake view from the room was great. Loved the patio to sit outside, if you don't mind goose crap all around. But that's expected if you live on a lake. I would go back here with wife.

We had two rooms. One was really dirty so we asked for another one. We got an upgrade for a really nice spacious and clean room. The staff was helpful and friendly. The other room was big and clean. The beds were nice and comfortable. We had a really nice view of the lake. Even though it was outside Boston it only took us 25 minutes to get to Boston downtown. There are quite a few nice restaurants in Wakefield, though not in walking distance.

There is a really nice garden with garden furniture but we couldn't really use it because there were too many Canada geese leaving there droppings all over the place and coming after you if they thought you might have some food.

I was dead tired, had been driving after a loonng day, and needed a solid sleep. I booked it because it was close by, and near a lake, away from streets and city noise. I was travelling by myself, and for myself I'm not picky, so I took the gamble. Many places are noisy. This one was right on my route when I pulled out, and searched for a place to sleep. It sits on a quite lane, next to a quiet lake. My room was silent. Perfect night's rest, Slept better there than the previous night in a very nice five star, where the super heavy doors banged me awake several times due to neighbors going in/out. The building looks shabby, the lobby looks shabby, the hallways look shabby, but the rooms--though the building is old--are clean, spacious, excellent beds, excellent lighting. Nothing wrong with it, unless you look for glamour :-) Not sure what the experience would have been if there would be a party in the room next door, but I have had that happen to me in top of the line hotels: Drunken neighbors, with the hotel not taking adequate action. So in all: If you need a place to sleep, close to Boston, and away from the busy city, and you don't mind lack of glamour, you can get your night's rest here. The check in lady was very friendly and efficient. I am pretty sure she would have done a good job quieting down a party, had there been one. In summary: If you recognize yourself in my words above? Go for it.

Better value than central Boston hotels yet easy enough to get into downtown Boston. Take Bus 137 from right outside to Oak Grove metro on the Orange line. The metro line was being repaired when we visited so there was a replacement bus service that worked well and was free. On return trip stay on bus 137 as it goes round other side of lake first and comes back to Lakeside Inn. Local supermarkets less than 5 min away by car.

The property is a bit tired don't let that put you off staying as it is reflected in the price and comfortable enough to get a good night's sleep.

Check is was quick and easy. The room was what we expected for the price, but the view was worth so much more than we paid. The rooms with lake views are where it's at. The front counter staff were always very friendly and helpful.

The website says there's free breakfast, but there isn't. There was a huge stain on the side of the mattress. It didn't look fresh, it looks like there had been an attempt to clean it, so it wasn't a big deal. There are a few things that could have been better, but what we got for the price we paid, it was better than expected.

Staff are very hospitable. The Inn and its surrounding is very clean and as quiet as the lake located behind the building. The location is feet away from Interstate 93 North and South, which is very important to highlight.

There is nothing I didn't like and will surely add it to my list of places to stay in the future. I give this Inn and the staff 5 stars and will recommend this place to friends and family.

Friendly and helpful reception staff. Room was well equipped and clean if a little "tired". Bed was extremely comfortable. The location was excellent for viewing the July 4th parade which started outside the hotel!

There was no elevator so luggage had to be carried up stairs. The restaurant and bar mentioned in the details were both closed.

breakfast was ok, except that the use the leftover orange juice from the day before, after it was consumed, they got a fresh orange juice which was amazing.

The manager was amazing and attentive, some of the staff were rude when asked questions.
