Appia Hotel Residences

The hotel was very centrally located in a quiet and safe area. Although it was very central, you could not hear the noise of the city from inside the hotel neither in the area in general. The hotel is located 700 meters from the Charles Bridge itself, so everything around you is within walking distance. The breakfast was with varied food for every taste and in a really nice room under the roof. It was definitely a bonus that it was possible to park your car in their basement for a fee. The basement was locked and secure.

The room was really warm as it was around 28-30 degrees outside. We were told that the room couldn't be cooled as the direct sunlight was warming up the room all day and therefore the air conditioning could not cool it down. I would definitely recommend that they get awnings outside the windows, as it was not comfortable to sleep there because of the heat.

The location of the hotel Appia was ideally situated in the Lesser Part of town in the Embassy section, just minutes from the castle. The Charles Bridge was only a short walk away and there were many restaurants and shops in the area, while being quiet and secluded. The hotel featured unique architectural elements that hint at the past of the building, with old walls and rafters exposed through out. Located on the lowest floor, our room had a patio and plenty of room. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, with juices, teas, bread, cheeses, eggs, fruit and pastries - lots of options for vegetarians alike. We opted to pay for parking, which was tight to get into, but also a lifesaver - just be sure to take it slow. All members of the staff we encountered were friendly and spoke English. We highly recommend this place and would stay here again.

The thick walls made for very quiet nights, but also at times a bit spotty WiFi - but we didn't come to Prague to check our email ; )

The room was far beyond expectations with a separate Kitchen and bathroom. The bed was very large and comfortable and the location was perfect, right under Prague Castle. Breakfast was excellent with a great choice of hot and cold food and the staff were friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel. There are a large number of restaurants a short walk away which were excellent and it's a short walk downhill to Charles Bridge and the Old Town Square.

The only downside (which wasn't a downside for us) it that if you have mobility issues then the walk back is all uphill and cobbled. Although I imagine that this is the case in a lot of places in Prague as it is a place with lots of steep hills.

Very quiet location in an embassy Quarter so it felt very safe. Nice gardens - woke up to birdsong. Nice big room with good storage. Room safe. Close to Castle for sightseeing. Helpful staff.

Up a steep hill near the castle about a 10 minute walk from the tram stop, so if you are wheeling a case it will be uphill and on cobbles. Felt that the pastries at breakfast were not very soft. Some of the toiletries in my room had already been used by a previous guest. (Bottles had been opened and partially used.) Bathroom lighting not very bright.

A great hotel in a beautiful old building with an inner garden, very serene and located near the palace in the old town. Our suite was huge and lovely, decorated in good taste. The breakfast is in an impressive old and original dinning room and the food is decent. Excellent service and really nice staff. For the price we paid it was absoulutely amazing!

Location was perfect. It is located only 5 minutes walk from the castle and yet its in a quiet location away from the crowd. The breakfast was buffet style. Plenty of choice and really fresh. Staff were lovely and helpful. Martin was a fabulous Host at breakfast. We stayed in room 206 overlooking the garden. It was a very big and comfortable clean room. The room was serviced every day. The outdoor seating area was perfect and plenty of seating. Highly recommend this hotel.

The staff are the best thing about Appia. Unfortunately we didn't get the name of one of the receptionists but she helped us so much and was a pleasure to interact with, she really enhanced our experience. The hotel is beautiful and comfortable, in a great location near the castle and many of the embassy's. The room was very clean, comfortable, and warm. The space was perfect for what we had in mind and was very quiet with good air conditioning too. The breakfast room is beautiful and the food is excellent. Once again the staff were very welcoming and helpful and they make a really good cappuccino! We also tried the sauna one morning and it was perfectly set up and a great experience. We loved our stay in Appia and we will be back!

The hotel is old charm magic, beautifully restored and cared for, with a lovely garden, the staff were incredibly helpful, that underground garage has room for approximately 14 cars that you need to pre-book in advance with the hotel, we had a SUV with a roof box approx. 2.25 M/H and it fit no problems. Its VERY close to the castle 10 min walk (with a 3 & 6 yr old) then its all downhill to the old bridge, and the old town center. Really would defiantly stay here again we loved it.

Breakfast could have been a little fresher on the fruit, otherwise the staff were very accommodating when we asked for pancakes without sweet cheese inside for the kids.

Superb breakfast - lots of choice. Location perfect - very quiet area but still close to centre of town. Staff excellent - so friendly and extremely helpful. Couldn't fault it and will most definitely recommend to friends.

Although our room was extremely comfortable it would have been useful to have a socket closer to the coffee maker/ kettle. This was our only niggle but did not detract from a perfect stay.

Ok...so I made a comment elsewhere that customers of booking.com site seem to me too generous to give, to average hotels, high marks.... this time - I have no problem saying that this place is really nice, upscale, clean, with great customer service and rooms that actually look and feel like a good hotel, deserving top marks. I really like the location, though it's on a small hill and for certain people it may be a challenge walking up every day... The rooms are really classy and large with large bathrooms and full showers (I hate those shower where you don't have full glass doors or curtains...the water will always splash to the outside). the kitchen where breakfast is served is an attraction in itself with very good selection and very attentive staff. I will certainly come back - highly recommended and even if not the cheapest - worth every penny.

if I have to find an issue.... the entry gate to the garage is a b...t to drive through.... because it's an old building on a narrow street - you really need to try like 4-5 times to finally drive thru....
