The Monastery Residence is set in the grounds of the Strahov Monastery and is yards from the famous library and art collection. Location-wise it's so beautiful and quiet, set on the hill overlooking Prague. My room was superb, very large, more like an apartment really with armchairs, a couch, desk, fridge and - joy of joys because it happens so rarely - plug sockets by the beds! I don't stay in luxury accommodation by any means but this was special and very reasonably priced. The staff were super friendly and helpful and were able to sell tram tickets, offer advice on food delivery, book taxis and change currency. I had long chats with two of them as they spoke excellent English. Breakfast catered for all tastes, from fruit and yoghurt to a fry up (my healthy choice). I would say it is the best hotel I've ever stayed in.

I have stayed in several hotels in Prague but I liked this one very much. Not only because the hotel is in a hidden area of Prague, which is worth visiting (incredible views), but also because in this hotel every detail was very well thought out, and the treatment was very personalized. The atmosphere is very warm and the staff was also very attentive and friendly. The receptionist (Kristina), noticed that it was almost my birthday and did not hesitate to greet me and give me a present. Thank you so much! I would definitely come back!!

Loved the location . Maybe a sign outside the complex saying hotel would be good. Really nice being up high with the views, enjoyed the bells and being able to walk down to the bridge through the vineyards and to the tower. Breakfasts were the best, so tasty and good variety and yummy pasteries! Nice room with a big window and a view and a bath!! All the staff were brilliant. Stephen very helpful and informative for the first few days with holding our bags and directions and then the weekend lady also friendly at checkout. The breakfast lady made sure we had enough to eat! We had one supper sitting in the garden by the path which was great.

Nothing!

I am SO happy with my choice of the monastery hotel while staying in Prague. The hotel is located up on the hill above Prague castle. You can walk into the city or take the beautiful tram, which stops just a few minutes from the hotel. It is very convenient and easy to use. It was so nice to be able to go out for dinner and a drink and then retreat to the monastery hotel on the hill, away from all the noise of the city. And the location is absolutely gorgeous. It is on the property of an active monastery, with a gorgeous historic chapel, brewery, and very good restaurant on site as well. This was one of the best places I've stayed in awhile.

Absolute gem. Very beautiful location. Lots of character as the actual hotel building is one of the old monastery buildings probably 1000 years old. . This place is amazing to experience the sense of the place, truly magical. The breakfast was super tasty, lots of choices and being able to enjoy it in the garden , with magic views over the old Praha just few meters away. The staff was very helpful. And you can start your sightseeing in the monastery in the morning with a short walk to the magnificent Prague castle, Loreta and Hradcany., Petrinska look out tower and and on and on...

Excellent location, offering peace and quiet, yet close to Tram number 22 and a walk down to Vitava river and Charles Bridge. Many cafés, restaurants and shops along the way. Staff very good and exceedingly helpful and friendly. They also go out of their way to assist. Patrik was able to retrieve my gold earring that slipped down the basin plug hole and Gabriela and Ordny both kindly arranged our concert tickets. All staff always willing to help. Excellent breakfast, with wide selection of tasty food. Huge selection of unusual teas too. Lovely tranquil garden to sit outside and enjoy breakfast, with birdsong. Authentic Czech brewery on site, with Bistro, serving many types of beer and interesting, local dishes. Remember to book a table in the busy season. The setting in the Strahov monastery precinct adds a dimension not usually found; this we so enjoyed. A charming experience !

Very little. Just suggest guests should be made aware of steep staircase leading up to bedroom in certain rooms. Therefore bathroom and living area downstairs and stairs have to be negotiated carefully. We managed fine, but think it would not suit all the guests.

Perfect location as it is close to many tourist locations such as the Cathedral itself as well as the Palace. This makes it easy to wake up early, and get to those locations before the massive crowds get there. In the evening, its easy to go to the wildly popular brewery on the grounds of the Cathedral as not as many people go later in the evening. Overlooking the city truly is special. The beds were very comfortable and sleeping with the windows open at night were a great addition. The breakfast was great too.

Incredibly beautiful location with stunning views of Prague. The monestry is really quiet and peaceful, there is a very inviting cafe around the corner from the hotel and a nice beergarten/restaurant (though we haven't visited either). The room was simple but had everything we needed. Breakfast was very quite bountyful with a good selection of charcuterie, eggs, many different types of bread and a great selection of fresh fruit. I did not take note of vegan options, but I am certain these can be requested. The receptionist was incredibly helpful, welcoming and very kind. Many thanks!

The plumbing was quite noticibly old and the shower showed signs of wear and tear and the sink was a bit smelly.

Old building, incredibly well kept and modernized. The room (a studio) was very large, nicely put toegether, with a comfortable couch and armchairs, coffee table, desk and a little corner with tee and coffee. The upstairs bedroom was cozy and warm. The staff were friendly and ready to help with anything. The breakfast was beautifully presented and delicious. The location is up the hill, just a stroll to Loreta and Prague Castle. Just around the corner is an alley taking you to the most amazing views of Prague. Definitely worth the visit and I will be coming back.

what a quiet place, what a view of Prague! We were able to have excellent breakfasts on the terrace, under the trees, in the gardens, with a cup of prossecco and as many double espressos as we wanted - and above all to take advantage of this remarkable location of the Strahov Monastery, the abbey church of Our Lady of the Assumption, one of the oldest in Europe, and this magnificent Kinsky Garden overlooking the city. Just perfect!
