Hôtel Kabanel

This is a lovely hotel. Despite being in what was obviously a scrubby old building, they have actually managed to make it very decent. The staff is incredibly accomodating and friendly and we felt very safe in the hotel. On our last day we were hit by the strikes going on in France, and the staff went out of their way to try to get us to the airport in time (success). We very much appreciated how attentive they always were - also to other guest and we would definately come back. Also the hotel is very close to a Metro station which makes it so easy to get around.

Sufficient staffing seemed to be a bit of a problem and a couple of mornings the breakfast room was very crowded and the buffet ran empty. But we also saw the problem being dealt with in a professional manner so not worth shouting over.

Room was small but fine and we did not have beakfast at the hotel. The locagion was excellent as it was close to the main station as well as the metro to get into the city. What was excellent and not expected was the offering of coffee, cold water, popcorn and pastries all for free. All staff weree excellent and friendly and I must mention the lady who cleaned our room who was most obliging and always had a smile on a face and went above and beyond expectations

The lift was small and claustrophobic. Although outside the hotel the area at first felt uncomfortable with those hanging around the street one soon got used to it and it was OK The shower screen could have been longer as water splashed onto the tiles which were wet after a shower

It was the best value for money hotel we were able to book near Gare du Nord area for the specific dates we were in Paris. We didn't avail of the hotel breakfast but the hotel had additional freebies for guests. We can get hot water or coffee anytime from the machine near the reception. Sometimes, there were pastries too free for hotel guests to eat. Overall, it was a nice and clean hotel in a quiet vicinity.

The specific hotel room we had, had a very unique spatial experience. The headboard side of the room had a lower slope level than the opposite side which was roughly between 30 / 60mm floor level difference. This has somehow created a vertigo sensation whenever we move around the bedroom. It took us an hour or so to get accustomed to the sloping floor.

good location, very clean, friendly staff. We booked two rooms. they allowed us to store our luggage in hotel in the morning, and offered us free coffee , tea and water. when we came back to hotel in the evening, they already transferred luggages to our room. They left us a big chocolate bar with nice notes on the bed! we didn’t book breakfast in the hotel. But there is a nice eating area we can use all the time.

the only thing I want to say is the bathroom in one of the rooms has no fan and no window. after each use the bath room door had to be open to room in order to release the moisture.

A big room, enough space for 3 persons, one family. Front desk open 24/7. Air-condition operated from the front desk, they will turn it on/off as you wish. Good choice of food for breakfast but quite a small space. We had breakfast only the first day and then we eat in our room but you always could make a coffee, chocolate or tea in the front desk for free, any time. And it was great!

Small space in a breakfast room. Small elevator, but you use it with your suitcases only on your arrival and departure, so it is not a big deal.

I recently stayed at this hotel and I must say that everything exceeded my expectations. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful, making our stay all the more enjoyable. The hotel is located in a great area that is easily accessible by train or metro, which made getting around Paris a breeze. The location is also ideal for exploring the city's most famous attractions, with many of them within walking distance. It only took me 25-30 minutes to walk to some of the most iconic landmarks in Paris, which was very convenient. Overall, I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Paris. I will definitely be suggesting this hotel to my friends and colleagues who are planning a trip to the city. The hotel is definitely worth the price, with all the amenities and conveniences that it offers. Thank you for making my stay in Paris such a memorable one!

Staff were welcoming and helpful, overall good value, good facilities, focus on the environment, spacious and comfortable room with good aircon.

Breakfast was a bit disappointing and inconsistent; e.g. the first day there were sausages, eggs and beans; by the last day there were only beans. Some days there were fresh oranges for juicing, other days not. Not conspicuous value considering the options in the neighbourhood, but that's really the only criticism.

Good bed, soothing color palette, interesting neighborhood, convenient location, complimentary coffee in the lobby, friendly staff.

This review is for room 139. Bathroom design need to be updated. Without shower door, water gets all over the floor, making it slippery and dangerous. It also need some shelving to put toiletries and a hook by the sink for hand towel to dry hands after washing. Placement of hand soap dispenser is too far away from the sink. A sheer curtain for the bedroom window would be nice.

The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were excellent - really friendly and helpful and welcomed me warmly when I came in. It felt so nice to see friendly faces and genuine care. Room temperature was comfortable. There was a kettle in the room and complimentary tea and coffee. Ample storage space to keep my belongings. The hotel is in the heart of the city - just 7 mins walking distance from Gare du Nord. There was an elevator in the building which helped especially if one had luggage and was given a room on an upper storey.

The paper cups for coffee were too small. The radiateur made some noise intermittently. The wifi did not work very well and I had major problems connecting.

Lovely breakfast, such friendly staff, the hot water went off a couple days into our trip but we didn't mind with the hot weather! We got a partial refund and free breakfast and the staff were so apologetic, it was no one's fault! Lovely hotel with a great size room and city view, comfortable bed and great location! Would certainly stay again. We also arrived and our room was decorated so thoughtfully as it was my boyfriends birthday, was such a nice special surprise 😊
