Hotel Modern Est

Didnt try the breakfast. The hotel stuff was very helpful. Room is very good. The hotel is close to station and also to supermarket, pharmacy and good restaurants. There was a restaurant next to the hotel, food was amazing and cheap! I ate there almost everyday. Over all the stay was amazing, room was very clean. I asked them for an iron to iron my clothes they provided it immediately, also I asked if I can increase temperature of the heater, they increased it and asked me if I needed an extra heater in my room. The only thing that I didn't like, was during shower water temperature fluctuated from low to high without me touching it, I was about to burn my back but my reaction was fast every time.

Water temperature should be fixed.

The hotel is simple but neat and clean, exactly what we needed! The bed was extremely comfortable, and we slept amazingly! The room had a little desk, a chair, a small clothes hanging rack, a suitcase bench, a bedside table, and nightlights on both sides of the bed. Hand soap and shampoo were provided. There was a safe, but it was too small to fit a tablet or a laptop. There was no closet in the room or drawers, but we didn't need any. We came for 3 days in Paris and needed a decent place just to sleep in and mostly travel. We needed a place cheaper than in the city center, but also in a nice area, which it was! We felt safe, there are restaurants and bakeries near the hotel. It's located literally on a metro station, and it was super easy to get around. The staff was kind and helpful!

There was hot water in the shower, but during usage, it would turn boiling hot or cold 2-3 times (as if someone else is using the water simultaneously). Also, the walls and ceiling are not very soundproof but it didn't bother us, at night the hotel was quiet.

Location is amazing. 3 steps from metro and you can go basically anywhere. Reception was very kind and helpful. Beds were ultra comfortable and house keeping cleans and makes the room tidy every day.

Walls are ultra thin, you can hear people talking or watching something from their phones. Water mixer was problematic, water was either too cold or burning hot.

Helpful staff who speak English. Very convenient location for the Eurostar, metro and buses. The downside of that meant the streets were busy - all night long - although the double glazed windows blocked most of the noise. Our room was clean and comfortable, the black-out curtains allowed us to sleep in. We appreciated the late check out and the fact that the property has a lift.

It wasn't a deal-breaker, but a kettle would have been nice.

Clean rooms and a nicely renovated bathroom! Very friendly staff, and great location! The metro was located right outside the hotel, so it was super easy to travel around. The area was quiet, and we slept with the window open all night without being bothered by any noise or traffic! We had a great stay, and will definitely stay here again when going back to Paris.

When we booked the trip to Paris we were a bit stressed about the accommodation (and the prices). So after a thorough search, we ended up in Hotel Modern Est. The 24/7 reception was super helpful, professional, and always happy to answer any questions (about transportation, museums, general info etc). Everyone was talking in English and the communication was perfect. Our room was not facing the road and the first morning, we asked if we could switch rooms. The receptionist was super helpful and offered to change the room (in the end, we preferred to stay in our initial room because it was quiet since the road is a bit noisy). The cleaning personnel was extremely kind and keen to help (even though they did not speak English). Of course, you can ask whatever you want at the reception (we happened to see the cleaning personnel on our floor and they were more than happy to help). The hotel is located next to the Gare de l'est (it's one of the big metro/train stations) and you are 13-15 minutes by metro from the Louvre museum or 20-30 minutes away by foot. Around the neighborhood, there are restaurants and fast food (McDonald's, Burger King, etc). Another huge advantage was the fact that there was a Lidl Super Market 7 minutes away where you could buy water and groceries at normal prices (e.g. the water was super expensive everywhere but at Lidl you could buy 1,5 liter for 30 cents/€0,30). The area feels extremely safe even after midnight (before booking a hotel, while checking the reviews of the area, it was mentioned that there are many African stores and it was a bit scary to walk during the night but we never felt that way). As for the hotel prices, we were a bit unlucky (we visited Paris on the first days of June and I assume due to Roland Garros all the hotels were either unavailable or extremely expensive - we booked Hotel Modern Est at €250/night without breakfast).

Ideal location for Gare de l'Est station. Friendly staff 24h réception no fiddling about with codes etc. Very clean, breakfast fine and good value for money in Paris.

No air con but the fan worked ok. Only a problem in a heatwave.

The location is great! Close to Gare L'Est and Gare Nord, and the Metro. Lots of very good cafes and small grocers. Neighborhood felt safe at night. Not too noisy at night even with the windows open. The shower was modern and roomy. There was a kettle and instant coffee and tea. The shower gel was very good. The staff was very welcoming and spoke English very well.

It does not have A/C and I am used to that. I know many Paris hotels don't have A/C. There was a fan and black out curtains, but it was a hot day. Cooler at night, but still a bit uncomfortable if you're not used to it. The towels were large, but very rough.

The hotel is super close to Frankfurt HBF. I can see the station from the window of the room I stayed at. Everything inside the hotel was really new and clean. The lobby looked really nice, and the workers speak great English.

The pillow of my bed didn't even look like a pillow. The bed was small but cozy. Outside the hotel can be a sketchy especially at night, but that's not the hotel's fault. It was a hassle to unlock the hotel room door. I was at it for a good 2 minutes. Just keep turning and you'll it open at some point haha

superb location, clean and good-sized room, comfortable beds, fan, fridge and safe (free of charge), quiet room despite proximity to busy main roads, close to Gare de l'Est railway station and metro, a few minutes walk from the Canal St Martin, more than adequate breakfast with lots of choice and at a reasonable price. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful.

The bathroom was spotlessly clean, but the shower was rather small and difficult to get in and out of. The breakfast room was well laid out but rather noisy (television blaring, large fan in operation) so that conversation was hard going.
