Hôtel Lucien & Marinette

We were impressed with this little hotel. The location worked well for us, very close to Gare du Nord. It was clean and bright with a comfy bed and our room was large by Paris standards. The bathroom was great, good size and very modern with an excellent shower. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and the staff there were very friendly. I liked the little touch of having cake, croissants and tea and coffee out all day for everyone. There's a little courtyard to sit outside on a warm day. The hotel was nicely decorated, I liked the lit up mural above our bed. We were in the back so no view but very quiet. A good value hotel for expensive Paris. There's a buzzing restaurant next door and many others in the area.

Gare du Nord is not the best neighbourhood in Paris but we knew what it was like and convenience for a short visit was more important to us. Walk over to the Canal St Martin for a hip and happening vibe.

We were greeted by a very friendly and efficient member of staff, booked in and shown to our room very quickly. The room was warm and clean, including complimentary coffee and 2 bottles of water in the fridge. A modern TV with a few English news channels. The bathroom although compact was clean and came with the usual shower gel, shampoo and hairdryer. USB charging points(2) and light switches on both sides of the comfortable bed. In room safe. Breakfast was a good and fresh continental style with everything you could want. All the staff were friendly and helpful. There was a small lounge area with complimentary coffee and pastries. The Gare de l'est Metro (7,4&5) (RER E) was a less than 5 minute walk away and 1 stop from Gare du Nord station to take you to and from CDG airport

Overall I thought the property was a great value! The shower was great with awesome water pressure. Room had a TV with WiFi and chromecast. Breakfast was included in our package which was tasty. All of the staff were friendly during our visit. The kind women working the breakfast area were accommodating and assisted me with bringing my food to my room so I could eat it there with my wife. The hotel is pretty close to a train station with multiple routes and trains. Overall it was a very cozy and nice place to stay during our first trip!

Very little complaints. One being that you cannot control the thermostat in your room so it was a bit hot the entire time in our opinion. Would wake up sweaty at night. The other thing being that the hotel is not in a very touristy area so you will typically need to walk far or take the train to get anywhere. There is not a whole lot of things to do close to the hotel.

Paris in a hot June: about the only two things you REALLY need from a hotel are proper aircon and a decent shower. I entered the room and the aircon was FREEZING - I had to turn it up!. The shower was also good: roomy, easy to use controls. And, one other thing, the bed was really firm and comfy!

It is conveniently situated (<5 mins walk from Gare de l’Est, c.7mins from Gare du Nord). But, when you walk into Rue de Chabrol, it is, frankly, a bit unprepossessing. Don’t be dismayed: for a start, the street is really quiet, and that is to be welcomed in Paris. And, even better, keep walking down the street, away from the 2 big stations, and its gets really cool: good cafes, restaurants, small shops - a real pleasure. Breakfast could be better, but that was not my priority

This hotel is very nice. The owner has undoubtedly put some money and heart into trying to make it a quality hotel. Water pressure is great and lots of hot water. Elevator for upper floors, nice outdoor lobby in the middle of the building! Awesome! Great breakfast area and food! Fresh baked goods in lobby area. Called taxis for us when we needed. Very secure building, noone gets in without desk person letting you in. A short walk from the train station.

The area is a little sketch if walking by yourself. However, the couple of restaurants right by the hotel come alive with locals and guests toward evening and it becomes more inviting.

The bathroom was well equipped. Breakfast was freshly made using adjacent market. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast room was airy and light with plenty space between tables.

The room was a bit smaller than we’d expected. Cardboard cups in the room were disappointing, especially for us Brits who like lots of tea!! There was a damp patch under our window. These are minor faults however.

What a happy choice we made in choosing Hotel Lucien & Marinette! Very cozy, clean and comfortable accommodation, in addition to the room being super quiet, which was very favorable for rest after walking around Paris all day. Bathroom with a great shower! Very convenient hotel location with metro/train station just a short walk away. Many options close to the hotel for food, supermarket and restaurants. And the excellent service of the entire team, which is a differential. Congratulations are all! Oh, and there's always a cupcake and coffee available! On our next trip to Paris, we will definitely choose Lucien & Marinette again. A big hug to everyone!

It was good that the hotel served more than continental breakfast. The hotel is truly a few minutes walk (<10 minutes) from Gare du Nord and Gare de L'Est Train stations. Montmartre is also a few minutes away but Metro, Bus or Taxi. The night and day staff where helpful, friendly and all spoke at least 2 languages including English, which helped me with limited French.

Although my room was in a quiet part of the hotel, my sleep was interrupted each morning by house keeping talking really loudly in the corridor.

The room was small but very clean and the beds were comfortable although small. Two single beds, as I was sharing with a friend. Breakfast was excellent although there was no decaf coffee. The position of the hotel was excellent between Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est, so easy access to and from the airport. Good for metro around the city also.

I liked he position of the hotel, the beds were comfortable, breakfast was very good with hot and cold options. Staff on reception were very friendly.

Good position. Sadly we didn't try the breakfast, we left early. The girl from the reception was helpful.

We arrived 1 hour after the opening of the check-in, at the time that we notified the day before. We were given the room key but for our surprise it was a mess. The room wasn't even cleaned, so we had to wait for a while in the breakfast room until the cleaning was over, and also the breakfast room was dirty too. After it was done the room had this sweaty smell, so we had to open the windows and leave for another hour before go in again.
