Hotel Hor

We booked this room last minute when our eurostar was cancelled and we needed two nights emergency accommodation. It was across the road from the Gare Du Nord so very convenient. Rooms were quiet and dark, beds were comfy and shower was great. Breakfast was also very good. We stayed over NYE and got complimentary champagne provided in the lobby and chocolates on check out. All in all we had a good stay.

Exceptionally friendly and professional staff in the reception. Helpful and solution minded. We felt extremely welcome and were greeted with free hot drinks and given the room early. Very nice bathroom products (Nexus), super comfortable beds and good quality pillows, convenient with a boiler in the room, a nice variety of quality teas, a mini fridge, windows that we could open, wood floors, security in the elevator, nice entrance with gas fire place and soccer match on, possibility to choose music. Good breakfast variety with good quality mini croissants and pain au chocolat, fruit and baguette, several cheeses, a variety of eggs, pancakes (2 types). I forgot something in the room, it was found and put in reception to be collected. I chose the location because it was close to Gare du Nord. It was easy to find.

This location is quite close to both Gard du Nord and Gare de L'est. This is convenient for train travel, but unfortunately this area does not feel safe in the evening. Poverty, mental illness and people living in the street is around you all the time. Nothing happened to us, but I did not feel safe to go out on my own late at night or early in the morning. The coffee machine uses milk powder instead of real milk.

Hotel was in an excellent location, just a two minute walk from Gare du Nord station meaning all areas of Paris are easily accessible. Charles de Gaulle airport is roughly 35 minutes by train at a cost of €11.45. Tourist areas such as Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Montemarte are a short distance using the metro at a cost of €2.10. Hotel itself is lovely with all the facilities you need and very clean. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the reception desk is monitored 24 hours. There are facilities for making tea and coffee in the room but barista style coffee is available to all guests all day in the lobby at no extra cost. Breakfast was lovely and available until 10:30am. Not very busy which was nice but excellent variety at breakfast with something for everyone. Small details such as free tea and coffee in the lobby, newspapers daily, free tea, coffee and water in the room heighten the experience. Overall, excellent stay. Would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Paris.

The staff was exceptional. The staff that checked us in were fantastic. They were friendly and they offered us some great suggestions on off-the-beaten-path sites to see and where to eat. The Breakfast was fantastic. Loved that we could get coffee even tea and hot chocolate any time of day. Great Location close (walking distance) to Gare Du Nord and Gare l'Est train stations.

The first night there was something happening in the street that went on for almost half the night. Was a little worried it would happen for the rest of our stay but the next 2 nights that we stayed were pretty quiet.

Breakfast was amazing, had everything for all tastes. Very close to metro station. Next door to a grocery store and fast food that are both open until late at night (around 2 am from what I remember). Breakfast area was great, even has a open air area. Free tea and coffe 24/7 were also a nice touch. Bed was big, matress and pillow were comfortable.

This is not to scare anyone off, just to give a heads up. We loved the hotel and it would be our first choice when coming back to Paris. But, for solo travelers, women groups, anyone not used or not in the mood for a sketchy neighborhood, you might want to take note on the following: The only downside to this hotel in my opinion would be the people around this area. Lots of shady people, more than I've seen anywhere else in Paris. Approaching the hotel on foot from Notre Dame via Bd de Strasbourg at 9pm we felt like the area is slowly turning into something that resembles Los Angeles's Skid Row (almost). Only way to avoid them would be to reach the hotel before sunset or use a taxi. Bus and metro won't save you since they are lurking even in the surrounding metro stations.

The location is very convenient as it is near the main metro station Nord. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They guided us regarding the metro system and pretty much anything we needed information on. We loved the breakfast choices. Our train was at 5pm, so we had to wait and they allowed us to use their lounge, coffee and bathroom facilities even after we checked out. I definitely would stay here again

The room was very small, but it was clean and had everything that we needed. The noise from the street didn't bother us, once the window was closed. We found the location of the hotel very convenient for metro and buses: it was very easy to reach all our destinations from Gare du Nord. We really appreciated being given a room upon arriving to the hotel at around 11 am, after a long flight from the US. We are very grateful to the hotel staff! Every evening this hotel has been a welcome island of peace, after spending all day among crowds, traffic, noise, and stress.

Excellent breakfast, cosy rooms and lobby with a nice and tasteful design that invite you to just hang out, friendly staff, great location right next to gare du nord/est. I especially loved the small details such as free newspapers every day and coffee/tea available during the whole day.

The position of the hotel was great, right next to Gare de Nord and 5' walking from Gare de l' Est. The area around at a first glance might give the impression that it is not that safe, but I felt very safe to walk around even at 10' pm. Just 30-40' walking from le Marais,Monrmart or Palais Garnier. The personnel extremely friendly and willing to help you with everything. The room was comfy, warm (the weather was at 12-17°C during the day) and despite the fact that our window was looking at the front road, it was super quiet. The breakfast was just perfect to start your day with.

The room in general was comfy and clean, but for my standards it could be cleaner.

Early check in when room is available so you don’t have to wander around the not-so-safe area. Receptionist Yaya is absolutely a star for his hospitality. Room has everything with good quality. Breakfast is adequate. Free coffee and tea all day is fantastic. Excellent in this area!
