Mercure Paris Gare de l'Est

The room was nice, very clean and quite wide (about 20 m2) for 3 people, compared to the average in Paris; hotel position is strategic, staff at reception exceptional and very kind (a special thanks to the italian receptionist for the touristic advice and to the french girls working in the breakfast room and the girl at the evening reception for the kindness and availability to help). Breakfast was really awesome, my double bed very confortable.

The single third bed (couch-bed) is quite unconfortable, it needs to be changed otherwise is useless, my child had to sleep with us. I tryed it and I found it impossible for resting. Internal sound insulation can be improved, you can clearly hear voices and doors slammed during the night.

-good location close to the metro at Gare de l’est - we paid 170€ for a double room for 2 mights incl. breakfast which is really cheap - small rooms but for 2 nights it was totally fine

- kitchen staff doesn’t speak English! Not even a little bit. when they know you don’t understand French they still continue talking frech with you.

We stayed in privilege room, which has a king and a sofa bed. Both beds are comfortable, the room is a nice size. Breakfast was basic but everything was nice and fresh. Location is very close to Gare du Nord so its best if you are taking Eurostar or Thalys for your travels.

Small corridors and very small lift, so if you're a big family with lots of luggage, you need to take multiple trips to go to your room. Its not in a very nice part of Paris. So if you're in Paris for sightseeing, its better to find something in the centre to be close to good restaurants and main attractions.

The location slight off the main road means the room was quiet... and this is a real bonus when needing a good sleep after a tiring day! All small touches like a cold/fizzy water dispenser, sleepers and the delicious minicroissants. Toiletries and towels were of good quality and the coffee making facilities were most welcome!

Bed mattress was not the best (compared with other 4* places) Bed making was not great as we often woke up with bedding linnen all over the place.

The location of this hotel is great with a short walking distance to Gare de l’Est and Gare du Nord, so it’s easy to take Eurostar and metro from there. We booked a double room with a sofa bed, which was quiet, clean and more spacious than expected. The staff were friendly.

The lift was broken down on the day we checked out and we had to move our luggage downstairs, yet we believe it was just a single incident and still thought the hotel was nice.

The location is excellent: and as a bonus was within metres of where I spent my first visit to Paris sixty years ago! Tucked down a side street off the Boulevard Sebastopol it is close to the action and yet quiet and and calm. There is easy access to both Metro and Buses: and the Saint Quentin market is directly adjacent: a wonderland of fresh produce and wonderful components for picnics.

Nothing really: a young lady called Frederika made our stay a delight. We dined out as there are brasseries and food supplies around.

Breakfast was lovely, everything you could want, staff very attentive. Reception staff were lovely and couldn't have been more helpful, gave us useful information for restaurants too. The room was perfect for two nights. Quiet, small hotel, we would definitely go back there especially if other rooms are like the one we had.

My only little niggle was the extra bed that I slept in because my daughter and granddaughter shared the lovely very large bed, was that the small bed was hard, I am sure that this extra bed was hard because it was meant for a child and for a child it would have been perfect.

Location close to the center and train stations. Reception good staff. Room ok. Amenities, coffee, tea, small fridge enough. TV and wifi OK. Barely noise from the main busy street.

Pillows could be more comfortable/less flat. Sofa bed was basically a sofa on the floor. OK for a couple nights but not as comfortable as a sofa mattress. I had a noisy neighbour the first night who made noise until 2 AM. Hotel and rooms a bit worn out here and there. The hallway is small. Not sure it can fit a stroller or wheelchair.

The staff at the reception were very helpful. For the premium room, all beverages in the mini bar were free. There is free drinking water dispenser, and they also offered coffee tea n hot chocolate at the reception. The breakfast is also good value if you are a family with kids as kids under 12 go free. The dining area is very cozy n quaint.

Too tiny rooms for the price, but Paris is like that, I guess.

Room and amenities were good. Breakfast was lovely had the best bread there & loved the room we had brekky in

The lift was out of service for most of the time we were there & we were on the 4th floor & older couple. staff were great trying to get it fixed & compensated us with a free drink. The desk staff had to come & get our bags on the check out morning as lift still wasnt working
