Hotel Le Rocroy

After some initial problems we got upgraded and from there onward it was all smooth sailing. The room was nice and location is extremely practical, although the nearby area isn't the nicest. There is free coffee and tea all day long, which is nice.

Check in process was very cumbersome, took forever and we got a room of inferior class to what we had booked and payed for. This was rectified the next day by another staff member after some insisting from our part and when they finally realized their mistake we actually ended up getting upgraded for the rest of the stay.

We chose Le Rocroy for two reasons. Firstly, we wanted a true French experience. The decor of the newly renovated rooms is beautiful and open the windows to a gorgeous streetscape. the breakfast us plentiful and the coffee or chocolate chaud excellent. Secondly, the location enabled an easy walk to Sacre Coeur, Le Moulin Rouge, Gare du Nord and Gare du L’Est for on travel beyond Paris, as well as a variety of dining options a few metres from the hotel street. Some days we walked a little further to other sights, Eiffel Tower, Musee D’Orsay and enjoyed walking back with a lit up Sacre Coeur guiding us. The Metro is a couple of hundred metres away for easy access to all over Paris.

Everything was great, nothing was too much trouble for the service staff. Perhaps more English speaking TV stations, but one does not travel to Paris to watch TV and we greatly enjoyed watching the World Cup French quarter final win against England in French.

Hotel check in was fast, friendly and very accommodating. Every corner of this boutique hotel is clean and hygienic. The staff are all helpful and welcoming. Location is near the city center and metro. They offer a wide variety of breakfast to choose from. The room is very clean. No moldy smell. Very cozy. Bed linen and sheets are fresh. Every corner was thoroughly cleaned. I was very happy and my favorite hotel so far in Paris. Would recommend to all my family and friends.

I booked one night for an early train leaving paris nord. front desk was really helpful with the wake up service, room was very clean, and comfortable. the hotel provided good quality toiletry (no toothbrush/toothpaste tho)

9/10 bc the shower drain was really slow/clogged and flooded the bath room. there was no instruction in the room on how to call the front desk, and it was late so i had to solve it myself using bathroom towel xddd.

The breakfast was more than adequate for the special offer for breakfast. The gentleman assisting breakfast was helpful and charming. Considering the prices of other Hotels in Paris, more than reasonable with breakfast.

The only comments would be from a Tourist perspective and hopefully passed on to Paris Tourism Association. 1. Almost everywhere the information is in French even on the trains. 2. Navigating the train system was a nightmare. 3. Train Station Gar de Nord was almost impossible to navigate. 4. No information personnel; a Security guard seemed to be the only person who could answer questions. 5. Limited ticketing machines with long queues. 6. Sad to see the homelessness, rubbish in the streets, smell of the sewerage. 7. The speed at which scooters travel along the footpaths, very dangerous

The same menu all throughout our stay,not much choice but decent meal...coffee makes you feel better.

The elevator is very small and only 1,can accommodate only 3 people without luggages.The control of the lift has to be adjusted so that it will not make an abrupt fall.

The central location was ideal for what we were looking for and allowed us to explore Paris with ease. We particularly liked the fact that we were walking distance from Montmartre. The hotel was exceptionally clean and you could see that refurbishment had taken place. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They provided us with European adaptors to borrow as we had forgotten to pack ours. We wouldn’t hesitate to return to this jewel of a hotel.

There wasn’t anything which we disliked. We were delighted with all aspects of this hotel. Cleanliness is important as is friendly staff and a quiet environment. We received all of these.

I stayed here for two nights as a solo female traveller as needed to be near Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est stations to catch different trains on different days and wanted to be in a nice hotel where I would safe whilst travelling solo . The staff at the hotel were really helpful and accomodating I felt they went above and beyond to help me e.g they helped me to find a local photo printing place and to store my bag and things like that . I really liked the art deco style decor and breakfast was lovely. There is a really nice restaurant beside it too which was handy L'Orange Vert. All good in the room too so had a great stay and was great to be near both the stations for travel - 5 mins Gare du Nord and 10 mins Gare de l'Est walking. Would recommend.

Hotel is well-located for the Gare du Nord and there are supermarkets and places to eat in the vicinity

I loved having a kettle in my room. Black tea rather than tisanes would have been nice and I would have liked the supplies re-stocked every day

Everything went perfectly - even showing us how to turn the lights on! Excellent staff and good to be able to leave our bags in the hotel on our last day to have a good look around Paris.
