Best Western Majestic

We enjoyed the view from our 6th floor terrace overlooking the ever changing action in Zocalo Square. At times it was noisy but we expected that and it was quiet by 10 pm. We apprecisted the nostalgic ambience which some people would call tired. The upstairs terrace restaurant was good. The location is terrific with cathedral, palace, and Templo Major right there as well as the hop on hop off bus stop The staff could not have been more helpful.

We did have 2 "mechanical" problems which were solved promptly. Wifi is very poor. Very poor lighting in bathroom.

The location is excellent, it is very centric; one has access to many restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies and etc. very easily walking. In addition, it is located right in front of the Zócalo and you can see the cathedral from the windows. The service of the staff is very good, the room is very spacious, comfortable and clean.

WiFi is very unstable, there is no A/C or refrigerator, and it is expensive. I would definitely recommend it if you want to be right in the center of the city and be able to visit various strategic points on foot.

Beautiful, traditional hotel in colonial building. Unbeatable location smack dab in the middle of historical centre of Mexico City. Enjoying a breakfast on the rooftop terrace with a view over the Zocalo is a must do! Facilities aren't the most modern but this is not the point of this hotel - it rather gives you this 1900 vibe and an idea what the city must have been like in those days. It's clean and comfortable though

Stayed in room 407, beautiful view of "El Zócalo". Windows open nicely allowing a wonderful breeze come in (No AC, requested a fan). Shower was great, always had hot water. Staff was very nice and friendly, some spoke some English. Location was perfect!!!

The bed was very firm, trouble sleeping. The wood floors needed some cleaning (very dusty) bottom of feet get dirty. Bring slippers. Towels show wear and tear. ** Despite these negatives, It's a beautiful architectural charming building and Wonderful Staff make-up for it. I would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful old building outside - old style rooms inside - needs renovation. Right at Zocalo place, just 2 minutes and you are in the wonderful city center. Breakfest on the 7th floor with nice view to the place. Plenty fruits and different kind of meats you can find what you like. Staff is nice and helpful. There are places to eat within 50 meters and other shops, too.

There is one elevator in the hotel only operated by a boy, so you have to ring him. You can hear what other guests speak in the neighburing rooms. Every morning before 6 a.m. the staff starts operating the big washing machine, you can hear it everywhere, it is a special way of wakeup call. The street of the hotel is closed of traffic so you have to walk about 100 m if you need a taxi or other transport.

A beautiful old historic building with tiles, lift from the 30s and absolutely fantastic views of the main square and cathedral from the rooftop restaurant and bar.. Great service from staff. Room modern and clean with hot water on demand. Located right in the centre.

There was nothing to dislike. Perfect for a night or two exploring the historic centre, before moving to relaxed vibrant area like Roma.

I like staying at the Majestic because it has a historical feeling and is right on the square with the Cathedral and the government building. The square is lively at all times and you really feel the Mexican flavour and atmosphere in this hotel. I have been there many times and always stay in the Majestic. The staff are very helpful and pleasant. I will stay there again when visiting family.

The location was ideal, the view from the terrace was amazing and this is why we decided to stay. Meals were ok- pretty pricey for what was offered. Again it was the view that kept us at this property. Spectacular.

Upon arrival hotel staff was very cold, robotic- received no welcoming vibe. Made us feel uneasy. Restaurant staff was attentive, welcoming, eager to assist and gave us a tour of balcony, explained details quite a contrast.

The hotel was beautiful and our room was a good size. The balcony restaurant was lovely and the Margheritas delicious. The hotel was right in the middle of the city with great access to shops, restaurants and sights.

The bed was a bit hard. The Wifi was weak in the room. The breakfast was monotonous for our tour group bit ok. Our room overlooked the square with a beautiful view but it was quite noisy at all hours.

It was a great location, in the center of everything. We were lucky to have windows looking out onto the zócalo, and got the morning sun each day. The staff were all very gracious and helpful, the breakfasts on the top floor terrace were tasty and a good value. There was hot water most of the time (not in mid-morning after everyone took their showers) - this was a delightful feature that we often don't find in Mexico's mid-priced lodging.

Our room was lovely, but really needed another nightstand and light for the other side of the bed. The bonus of being right on the zócalo was also the bane; the ongoing festivities, especially the hip hop concert with heavy base, penetrated our room and could be a problem for some folks. It was an even trade - we got the view and we got the noise.
