Alpers Lodge & Conference Centre

Location is perfect, especially if you don't want CBD noise and "entertainment" . there are local restaurants and bars which are perfectly adequate for short-medium term stays. south on Manukau road, plenty of cafe's . further south, Cornwall Park, One Tree Hill . spaciousness of unit (I received a room upgrade thru booking.com) , ease of access, parking, distance from street(my unit) . Beds were upgraded/replaced during my stay. I would rate "accessibility" of this venue "above average".

more art on walls would have been nice. the place was a bit 'blank' there are some items missing from kitchen drawer, However, things like can openers and so on are available from reception. if you don't find what you want, call reception and they will supply them ( do it early in your stay, so you can eat economically from the local supermarkets)

Very good value for money, comfortable beds and great having air con at night as it was very hot. I loved having the easy, spacious carpark right at the door - so much better than the cramped apartment parking I had earlier on my travels. It's an older style motel but very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. I loved the fact that it was a 5 minute walk to the Westfield Mall so super handy to shops/supermarkets etc.

The interior could be modernised but then it would cost more, so quite happy with it as is.

The place was very quiet at night with no road noise at all. Kitchen facilities were very handy to have as were all the Sky tv channels available. Great location close to the northern motorway, walking distance to Newmarket, Auckland domain and the Auckland hospital.

The bed was a double rather than a queen so was slightly too small for 2 people comfort. There was no ventilation fan in the bathroom and the louvre windows in the bathroom could be replaced with an obscure glass window for safety & privacy.

This is a nice place to stay. Rooms are large and clean. Staff are efficient. Wifi is great. Parking spaces are large and on site. Given the proximity to the city, this is a quiet place to stay. It's a pretty quiet area. Traffic noise was not an issue. There are not huge number of places to eat nearby so having a restaurant on site is a bonus. The restaurant is very good. I had had a very busy day with an evening zoom call. The restaurant was a life saver and the menu is diverse enough. Youll find something that you like. The quality of the food was really nice.

It's a shame that the restaurant is not open for breakfast on a Sunday. In our room the double bed was rather soft. If you like that, that's OK. I don't. My partner does. It felt like a trampoline though, it was so bouncy. We both thought that was amusing.

As I was playing in the NZ Masters Badminton National Championships at Badminton Hall Gillies Avenue the location of Alpers Lodge was perfect for my stay. The short walk to Newmarket is also a plus.

re the restaurant: the mashed potato that made up a portion of the lamb shank dish was awful, no flavour and more mush than mash, also the few pieces of vegetable were not good either, the lamb shank was nicely cooked and tasty. However a massive plus for the pizza we enjoyed on the Thursday evening.

The beds had lovely fresh linen, and nice bathroom towels. Lots of space with a couple of small but comfortable chairs. In the room it had a nice feel. The lodge corridor didn’t reflect the room standard.It looks a little dated and tired, as does the dining area.The food was nice though and alcohol was available.You had the option to eat in your room which was great.All the staff were lovely.

A little dated in the public areas

Location was perfect. Short walk to Westfield and plenty of eateries. Also just a short walk to the train station. It was super clean and just what a family of 3 needed. We arrived super early and was surprised out room was ready and we got an early check in ! We could even use the parking after check out while we went for some lunch! Friendly host.

Sunday morning rubbish truck at 830 literally on our door step. And it would be nice to have a lockable windows or someway to get some airflow during rhe evening.

The staff were amazing and very friendly and so helpful. They made us feel welcome and comfortable during our stay. The shower was great, good pressure and was nice and hot. The room was reasonably clean. And the beds were very comfortable. Also the location was perfect and was walking distance to the local mall and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay overall ☺️

We noticed under the single beds weren't clean or vacuumed properly. Also found it a bit annoying that we couldn't adjust the shower head for our kids to shower. The rooms and facilities could do with a good face lift.

how the front staff accommodated our stay & moved us into a room with a kitchen, very thoughtful of the 2 gentlemen, the cleaning staff very helpful & cleaning was on points, parking was ideal & close to our room

wasn't much we didn't like about our stay other than the 2nd room the we had mattress wasn't as comfortable as the 1st room but nonetheless it was acceptable

front staff were very friendly & helpful cleaning staff were very efficient in there work throughout the compound

wifi didn't reach the room we were had to sit outside or in the car to get uninterrupted wifi
