Novotel Auckland Ellerslie

Very confortable bed & the hôtel has a 10min access to the train station, that's very useful when you don't have car.

The last day i'd asked for a LCO that cost $20 per hour after 12pm and during our nap around that time, the fire alarm was so loud and woke us up. We moved in a rush out of our villa and the staff that WE met outside told us that was a test... When WE came back to our room, keys were not working as the réception didn't update our keys so WE had to ask a staff (housekeeping i guess) to open. Finally WE decided to leave as we were already wake UP. I was expexting a free LCO for the matter but nevermind, i'll come back anyway. Big thanks for Shanelle (sorry for the spelling) and Nathan from the reception. Both were very professionnal. Thank you Alex Brander

The bar and restaurant staff were so friendly and helpful. Every day I would wonder down for coffee and breakfast with my family, and they were all so welcoming and friendly.

1. On arrival reception weren't very helpful. 2. We had abit of luggage and reception did not offer me a trolley. I had to ask for it. 3. I had to ask for the WI-FI password. 4. The room had no kitchen - There was cups/glasses but without a kitchen you can't wash the cutlery. 5. The kettle was rusty, so we had to buy our own. 6. Abit of mold on the shower tiles. 7. No windows to open to allow fresh air 8. The Refrigerator was leaking 9. There was no Coffee machine (it was listed as one of the room facilities) 10. When checking reception were going to charge me again me again for the accommodation when I paid in full. Luckily the manager came clarify everything as reception didn't seem to know what she was doing.

The breakfast was amazing :) Housekeeping did a wonderful job keeping the room clean, and provided a mattress topper to make the bed softer from the second night. Staff were typically very friendly The room was a really good size!

The first night I arrived, unfortunately the bed was really hard and not comfortable. I rang reception to query if there was anything they could do and was told no. This meant I had a really poor sleep the first night. However the next morning when I spoke to them again (in person this time), the front staff arranged for a mattress topper for me, which turned the bed into something wonderful to sleep on The shower pressure was really weak too unfortunately.

The room was comfortable and spacious. We ordered room service for dinner which was delicious - pad thai, garlic bread and potatoes to share. Easy access to property from the motorway.

Parking - the carpark was full and a pain to use. If you weren't lucky, you had a massive walk to the hotel. With a baby this was less than ideal. Communication wasn't great when we called reception and no one seemed to understand my very basic question - "how long is the wait time for food". Was very overpriced, likely inflated because of Ed Sheeran playing that night.

Pleasant relaxed breakfast in Accacia Bar late morning. Very thankful for 11am checkout time after late evening arrival previous day. Lack of parking (see below), staff superb. Mia on reception even assisted me with my bag to 5th floor room. Next morning “Bell Boy” (Aodhán) personable, helpful, and provided assistance to put my heavy bag in car.

No parking left for my late check-in. Required to park rental vehicle in public, dimly lit public carpark, some distance away from front entrance.

Easy check in, room was lovely, nice and clean and awesome blackout curtains.

We were at an event earlier in the night and there were more than 20 people who were in the bar having drinks. That evening the bar closed at 10pm. Was this because the hotel license is only till 10pm or the Bar Duty Managers shift was ending? We were thinking it was strange that after covid that the hotel wouldn't have taken this opportunity to collect extra revenue with a busy bar, especially on a Tuesday night.

Staff friendly and helpful especially reception (as that was who I dealt with most of the time). Breakfast had a variety to choose from continental and cooked buffet also had a gluten free section. Loved the soaps and lotion available to use in the bathroom. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Loved the coffee machine's in the conference room and service for morning and afternoon tea were great.

Only one toilet available to use in the women's public toilet as the other one was out of order and had all conference rooms booked. Not sure if the other elevator worked but only one elevator working to go to room (hotel very busy). Get charged for parking and found it hard to find a parking space. Ordered room service but had to place order with reception as no one was picking up in room service but didn't know what was available from room service as no menu in room. Ordered burger and chips - burger was luke warm and chips were ok.

Great location with convenient road access, well kept and room was clean and very reasonable sized. Very comfortable.

Parking was a bit challenging as property attracts a lot of event traffic and parking on site is limited. Offsite parking is fairly close but would be a real problem on race days as it is the parking for the race course. Dining option rather limited but perhaps not unusual for this sort of hotel/location.

Staff were friendly and helpful from check in to check out :) Restaurant staff are so kind and on to it - Breakfast was a 10 and Gym was amazing - a great thing to have when you have kids and adults pumped up from Armageddon lol Water pressure in the shower was perfect!

Bathroom was abit small having the toilet right behind the door. Parking was hard to find , but very secure once we found a spot for the night :)

Bar staff are lovely and very accomodating. Particularly the young ones who were very good with wine recommendations. i liked that here was always decent food available. it was close to the supermarket which was handy.

the room smelt a bit weird. overall i liked it for what it was. the outside area is cool. Great that there was a bath. Also liked the fact that there was a decent sized fridge.
