Amara Old City Hotel & Spa

I think for the cost I paid it was very qualified breakfast. They were exchanging it 20% every day. But general-all important breakfast was suggested-such as eggs, selections of ham, cheeze, butter, honey, jams, vegetables, olives, cornflakes, orange juice, teas and coffees.Location was excellent. on a back side very big food court and shopping street with even 2 small shopping malls of Waikiki and Defacto and Polo( with 3 times less prices than in Taksim!, and some else. . Upper Ayasofia mosque, down the street - Bosphorus Gulf and Yachts with Bosphorus Cruize for 25 lira- 3$ -per person !

everything was very good- Most important for tourists: Cost & Location! Sauna and pool till full lockdown were also working. Gym is VERY good. Being honest- everything was very good. For this cost - Ideal.Who may not be satisfied with food may have breakfasts for some 2-3$ in all cafes on back street. Cleanliness- yes was upon request- As in most of modern hotels- requesting understanding on environmental protection.

Excellent location,Marmaray Sirkeci Station just a few meters far,tram stations gulhane and sirkeci at minutes of walking,in the very hart of historical city.A special mention for the very friendly and helpfull people of the desk ,ayhan and mina in particular.The hotel is somehow hidden from the main road ,so it was a good ideea to take a cab from the bus station,in acksaray.Very pleasante atmosphere,a lot of nice restaurants around to have lunch and dinner.

Location is perfect for the first time, all the must see spots are walking distance. Next time I would try something closer to Galata Tower though Rooms are cosy and well renovated, very clean There’s a rooftop with a pool, and a well equipped gym with a pool in the basement as well Reception staff were great, they even allowed us to extend the room till 2 pm for free when we checked out I would recommend this place with no hesitation

Breakfast was kinda standard, all the same 5 days in a row. I know it’s COVID and stuff, but breakfast could be more various in comparison to Antalya region hotels The only bad thing happened to us in the fitness center They have a pool and jacuzzi, which is good They switched on jacuzzi for us which is good But the water temperature in jacuzzi was same as in the pool, like 20-22 degrees When I asked they guy to turn it up he was like well it’s a good temperature we can’t heat it up Come on, cold jacuzzi really sucks! Oh yeah, and they had us pay for swim hats and never gave swim towels-you have to bring your own or the room one

The location is perfect in the area of Fatih. Very close to the main attractions. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My room was fine,just normal size but very comfortable bed. The area is full of restaurants and other shops. No noisy in the nights.

Lack of the information for tourist, such us maps. Luckily there is a tourist information nearby ( I think the hotel staff does not know )

The location was excellent. Short walk to trains, trams, boats. More affordable than most of the hotels on the European side. Close to important tourist attractions, cafes and restaurants. Staff were helpful and friendly. Clean and comfortable accommodation. Efficient air-conditioning. We stayed 6 nights after booking two.

Couldn't get a second door card, so we always needed to arrive home together. Only one chair in the room. Minor things.

Great location and value for money. If you want to avoid the Main Street and restaurants just turn left out of the main door and left into the next street and you can walk to Sirkeci train station and come out of the main entrance there and you will be by the tram stop.

Perfect location if you want to see the old city and very easily accessible to main public transportations (marmaray, ferry, tram, bus) Very clean easily feel home Very friendly, respectful and helpful stuff

Last night there was some noisy « neighbours » / short electricity shortage

The location of the property was fantastic and the staff of the hotel was very kind and helpful.

The cleaning staff could do a better job cleaning the floor and changing the towels.

The room was clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. Our flight was scheduled to arrive early and we arrived much earlier that the check-in time to leave the luggages, but instead they were so kind to let us get in the room and even offered us breakfast on arrival. Exceeded our expectations. Nice location, walking distance to nearby attractions and very close to a tram stop and metro station. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to stay on a budget and still get a great offer.
