The hotel has an excellent location. The staff made our stay an exceptional one and were always helpful, Muhammed and all the guys, especially front office manager Cihan. The room was neat, tidy and comfortable. The breakfast was varied and had a lovely spread of food each day. Very filling and nutritious. The wifi was excellent and worked well at all areas of the hotel. They even gifted us a farewell gift and just couldn't find any faults with anything. We really loved our stay and would definitely stay here again in future.

Listed a few things others have already mentioned: One access card, which when taken out, the aircon and fridge stop working, your drinks and room stays hot until you come back again. The room walls aren't soundproof and you can hear everything in the rooms on both sides, which can disturb your sleep. The bed doesn't have a proper duvet or blanket. These are small issues that can be resolved and I must stress this, it doesn't affect your stay at all because it is a lovely hotel with the very best of staff :)

the location is great everything is around you you don’t need to drive anywhere all tourist attractions like sultanahmet and topkapi are in walking distance Mohammed (Mehmet) is great guy kept following up with us before our arrival to make sure we arrive easily I recommend take transportation from the hotel as it is hard for taxis to know the location of the hotel as it is located by the tramway breakfast is diversified and delicious this isn’t me my fourth time stay and they kept their standards high

Perfect location, literally close to everything by walking. near the main attractions of the old town. Lots of shops and restaurants around. For the things located further, the tram is right in front of the hotel so perfect for exploring the city. The staff very nice and accommodating, they gave us treats at the end of our journey. Very clean, room service and cleaning every day, bottles of water for free. The mattress is very firm, but we liked it that way. The pillows are very hard and firm, my friend didn t like it, but I did, so it's just up to each person's taste. Rooms are extremely small, even if we chose a bigger one. But we didn t mind. We were out all the time. Depends on what u really think it s important when booking a room. Breakfast fantastic. Lots of options. Vegetables, fruits, cakes, cooked food, salads, rice, potatoes, cheese, meat, eggs, u name it. They have it all. And varies every day so we didn t get bored of it at all. Loved it. If u are a light sleeper, get the room on the back or the hotel, not facing the street, since it can get quite noisy because of the central location. Wifi connection perfect in our room. All in all, definitely recommend the hotel, I d probably choose it again if I ever come back to Istanbul. Thank you for everything.

The walls are super thin, so u can hear everything from your neighbours. We were lucky and had only one guy in our first morning who was talking really loudly on the phone, but then, everything was quite and we rested and enjoyed our stay very well. It s also common in old buildings like this one.

The location of the hotel is just perfect! It is situated in a neighbourhood full of restaurants and shops, many of the Istanbul top sights are within walking distance and it has good public transportation connections. The service is on a very high level, the staff are extremely polite and accomodating. They even made sandwiches for us on our final day, as our flight was early in the morning and we had to leave before breakfast. We also used their transfer service to the airport and were very satisfied with it. The room was spotlessly clean.

You can hear the noise of the tram passing in the street. We were not particularly bothered by this, but if someone is a light sleeper perhaps it would be a good idea to ask for a room that does not overlook the street.

The hotel is situated perfectly in the historical center of the city. The hotel also has its own exchange, which is very useful. Breakfast was also excellent, and it is possible to find a meal for any taste. Cleaning was daily, every day new bottles of water were delivered to the room, there is also a safebox. Despite the tram line nearby, it wasn't noisy, since our windows weren't facing the street. Anyway, it doesn't work at night. The staff is very nice and friendly.

extreeemely nice staff, very helpful and kind. we had early morning flights and we got a fruit basket and a snack sandwich for the airport! we also gor Turkish delight as a gift from the hotel!! we were very glad of the nice treatment. the location of the hotel is amazing, as good as you can get. close to all major turistix attractions, grand bazaar and street with very nice and not expensive restaurants and street food. room very clean, they were every morning so fast in doing the cleaning while we were at the breakfast. breakfast VERY good, a lot of choices, fruits, sweet abd salty. they arranged taxi for the airport for a reasonable price. i felt sick one night and they sent me herbal tea from the reception! we also got a room upgrade from the hotel 💗 thank you for all!

Quite comfortable hotel - very close to all landmarks - really in center of Istambul

Street is closed for traffic, so you have to walk to taxi. Loudly area. Not cheap.

The hospitality of the staff was beyond our expectations. It was our first time in Istanbul and they were kind enough to offer us tours and give us information. Also, the location was ideal for a tourist. We were able to walk to the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque and were surrounded by wonderful restaurants, shops, and dessert places. The room was clean and spacious.

We have already stayed in several hotels in Istanbul, but the Black Tulip Hotel is really great. It is even better than we expected. It's on a great location, just a few steps from the T1-Gulhane tram stop, in the city center. The breakfast is great, and so is the breakfast room. We got a better room than we paid for. They made us happy with a gift during the vacation, and they also gifted us at the end. All the staff are very friendly, they cater to every little wish. When we returned tired from the city, we were treated to tea and biscuits. Thx... Mr. Enver and Mr. Fuad were particularly kind and attentive to us. We will definitely return to this hotel.

One of the best places I've stayed in Istanbul. Extremely clean hotel, with great wi-fi, exceptional (and diversified) freshly cooked breakfast, all the staff eager to help with all aspects, and overall marvellous value over money paid. It's in a very central area, close to all the touristy attractions, the tram station 50m away, and my room was quiet and big enough considering my expectations. Veeery comfy beds! :) All you could wish for, and more. P.S. Do yourself a favour and "splurge" on the airport transfer - it's well worth it, considering Istanbul's hectic traffic and the distance from the airport.

The bathroom can be a little cramped, but unless you sleep there :)), you'll be fine. One of the rooms (we booked two) had some problems with water not flushing - and it was promptly dealt with. Not an amazing view from my windows, but the room was quiet because it wasn't facing the buzzing street.
